Knowing what's below, I can seek refuge
Lucius Malfoy led Snape out of the room into a room with various spells on it. Even Severus really understood that some of the spells that had been placed on the door were his and Malfoy's own doing.
The room was a bit gloomy, but just right for what was needed.
"Malfoy, I think it's wise to ask how you got this plant. While its care is indeed...complex."
"Severus, I have my ways of getting things when I want them."
"I don't doubt that."
"However, even to me the mysteries surrounding the care of plants with such potential are unknown."
"You don't have to pretend Severus, we know perfectly well that you are a great expert in the dark arts and I don't think you don't know what is in front of you"
"Malfoy, just because I've dedicated myself to this and I'm good at potions doesn't mean I can unlock the meanings of the universe. The only thing I could learn from the Viridian books was that the real information was burned in Alexandria and Slughorn said that even his professor's professor didn't know anything about it"
"Severus."
"Be Careful Malfoy, watch the limits of our friendship. If I tell you I don't know about a subject it's because I don't know about it. "
"No offense."
"I hope you know how to keep your place."
"Now, if you'd let me out of this room that would be great."
"Are you afraid of being locked in with me?" Malfoy interrupted the path between Snape and the door.
Severus knew that the plant had a sensitivity to people and would only allow a scent to be in the room for more than 20 minutes. Otherwise, it would begin to expel a toxic substance that would kill painlessly. But of course, he knew nothing about the filthy plant that Malfoy had. He couldn't even think of destroying it or removing it due to the protections of the Malfoy house and the nature involved in touching such a vegetable.
"I am not afraid of you and now allow me to go to the beginning of the year ceremony. I suppose your godson would be very happy to see me?"
"It was a joke of sorts, Snape."
"Jokes are paid with life in our social circle. No offense."
Malfoy paled and understood that his trick to try and get information out of Severus had not worked and now he was more confident that he would not betray him.
"You can come back whenever you wish, perhaps we can talk about other topics and even tell you more about the plan," He said as they climbed the stairs from the basement.
"I would love to know more about what there is to revive our lord, if you wish we can meet on weekends when the senile old man is not poking around in matters that do not concern him."
"Perfect, now confirmed. I will tell Cissi that you will come and stay every Saturday and Sunday with us, we can even call Draco."
Severus smacked himself internally, he couldn't allow himself to come to the Malfoy house like that, but he would have to get information about the enemy's plans to protect Harry.
"Perfect. So be it."
Severus disappeared towards Knockturn Alley and from there towards the castle. If his internal clock was working properly it would still be early and he could go to Harry's medical check-up with Poppy, see how his son was doing and have a little chat with him.
"Oh Severus, what took you so long!" Minnie said as she walked down a long corridor following Snape who was heading towards Hogwarts station.
"Shhh, Minerva! We're gone...we'll talk about it later!"
"Did you make it?
" It was harder than I thought ... And Harry?"
"We have to talk. Wait! Stop for a second Severus."
"What? Don't you see where I'm going, I'm going to pick up my snakes and check on ...him!
"Wait for a second, damn it! He's not there, something...unexpected happened."
Severus stopped almost at the entrance of the castle and looked at Minerva in a deadly way.
"What happened to him, tell me.”
"Calm down for a second..."
"He's dead, isn't he?
"What. No. Fortunately no!”
" My bracelet with the connection broke as soon as I entered the mansion, I need to know how he is and you are here telling me that something has happened, but without telling me anything is the same thing. "
