This had to be some dream- a nightmare- there's no way this was reality....right?
"SEVERUS!"
Severus snapped out of his trance, he blinked a few time before realizing that Evan was infront of him holding his shoulders. His heart beat was still racing and his body continued to shake violently.
He did his best to will his body to relax but when he looked into Evan's eyes. He saw what appear to be worry and concern within them and he couldn't help but break down. Tears spilled from his eyes as he desperately clung to Evan's chest.
Reality came crashing down onto him in an instant. He was almost killed just minutes ago and not only that but he was made to vow to not utter a word about it to anyone. They were right-

The Marauders
Every student in bloody Hogwarts....
He was worthless, if he disappeared no one would bat an eye. No one would care.
Perhaps Lily would but he was certain she'd get over it after a day.
He thought that maybe after what happened the headmaster would finally see how horrid the Marauders were. That maybe he'd finally be on his side and show that he mattered.
Tho that was a wish that went unanswered.
It seems that Dumbledore was as heartless as everyone else....well atleast towards him. Who gives someone a slap on the wrist after they tried to murder someone?!
Who tells the victim to keep silent should they be punished themselves!!!
WHO!!!
"SEVERUS BREATHE!"
He hadn't realized he was being shakened until he heard his name. He got lost in his thoughts, it seemed he started hyperventilating. His throat felt dry and he couldn't keep himself up right. He quickly dropped to his knees and Evan was quick to follow his movements.
Evan was confused and extremely worried. Not a few minutes ago he was soundly asleep but then out of nowhere Severus burst into their room. He quickly got out of bed the minute he saw Severus terrified expression.
"Severus?" He called out. Severus turned his attention towards him and he quickly began to rant. Yet for some reason every word Severus tried to say came out incoherent. Like there was something preventing him from speaking properly.
With every word Severus tried to say it only seemed to upset him. Evan grabbed hold of his shoulders "Severus" his voice went unheard as the raven haired boy continued to try and speak.
Evan shook him a bit but that did nothing, he called out his name a few more times but nothing worked. He tightened his grip on his shoulders "SEVERUS!!" He shouted out.
This seemed to work because Severus finally stopped and stared at him. After a minute Severus broke down, seeing him in such distress broke his heart.
Several things went through his mind as he held Severus in his arms.
What happened to him? Where did he go? Why were his robes in such an awful state? What or Who instilled such fear into him?
Oh crap!
Evan pulled Severus back when he noticed that he began to hyperventilate. His body began to shake more and he went back to trying to speak but it seemed his throat was all dried up from sobbing that the words were unclear.
"Severus....please, come back to me..." He spoke as he cupped his face "Severus breathe, please!" He felt tears begin to form in his eyes. He has never seen Severus in such a state that he feared his life was in danger.
'Shout' He thought, it worked last time....
"SEVERUS BREATHE!!"
He watched Severus freeze up again. Severus began to cough a bit and then he quickly fell to his knees. Evan followed suit and wrapped his arms around him.
Severus clung to him for dear life and did his best to even out his breathing. But with every breath he took it stung his throat and he couldn't help but cough.
"Every melody starts with a harmony and everything I see is always new to me..."
Severus froze, every thought in his mind disappeared and was replaced with a new one. 'Is Evan singing?' He looked up at him and saw that his eyes were closed.
"And everywhere I go doesn't feel like home and everything I do means the world to you..."
He was, Evan was singing. But why? He stared at Evan as he sang and for some odd reason he felt his body relax. Wether it was the words he sang or the sound of his voice he wasn't sure. All he knew was that it sounded nice.
"And every step I take takes my mind away to a place of faith...."
Severus felt his eyes grow heavy, the tears had stopped and his body no longer shook with fear. He leaned more into Evan's embrace and closed his eyes.
"A place where we could all be free and live a life of harmony..."
A soft smile appeared on his face as Evan continued to sing. This had to be a dream, right?
As if Evan would sing to anyone, especially to someone like him. Well it doesn't matter.
Should this be real or a dream, he didn't mind. In this moment he thinks that maybe he does matter in a way. That maybe the world isn't so dark, that maybe there is a chance for light to come into his life.
Sleep started to take over and he allowed himself to give in. Tho just before he fell asleep, he swore he felt Evan kiss his forehead.
But that's an issues for another day, that and the fact his heart started beating quickly when it happened.
Yup these are issues for another day.
