Chapter 5
And just like that September came, my alone time with Harry was over and I had to see him go once again, a part of me was really happy that Harry would obtain an education like no other, but there was another part of me that was concerned not only because he will be in an environment I knew nothing of, especially considering my own sister and her husband were murdered because an evil wizard that was apparently trying to destroy the world as we knew of and of course we muggles had absolutely no clue about it, nonetheless I knew deep down it was the right thing to do, Harry, he will certainly be more carefree there now that he is not under the Dursleys' care, but at the same time I couldn't help but think that he would eventually find me dull after spending so much time with other magical people, as I always feared Lily would feel. I found it hilarious when people thought I was such a confident woman, when inside I feel anything but confident, I often found myself full of worries and insecurities.
“Aunt Edith, it's almost time”- Harry knocked at my bedroom's door interrupting my thoughts.
“Get a grip” I said to myself as I took my things and sighed just before opening the door with a smile on my face to face Harry. It wasn't hard to pretend I was all cheerful about this whole situation, not when Harry was smiling like that.
With the instructions Hagrid gave us, we finally arrived at the train station. We were completely lost as we were supposed to find platform 9 ¾ but as I tried to tell Hagrid the last time I spoke to him, that platform did not exist. No matter how much we asked people around, they just stared at us like we were insane.
“I´m losing my mind, I´m losing my mind on this day Harry, I swear” I told him completely exasperated as we were getting late.
“You and me both” Said Harry, sitting down in one of the many benches that were there, I was about to do the same, contemplating how I should handle this situation, thinking without a doubt that Hagrid would hear from me, when suddenly something caught Harry´s attention.
“Look!” He said pointing out at some pack of red-headed strangers that were maneuvering between people like it was nothing.
“Go on Percy, you go first”-Said the oldest woman there, the oldest of the children that were with her, went like she said and ran right through the wall and entirely disappeared.
Harry and I went speechless, mouth wide open as we looked at each other. I shook myself out of it quickly, I promised myself I would have time to process everything I see here when I get back at home but right now I had to be there for Harry, I took the hand of the still stupefied Harry and ran towards the family of redheads.
“Now George, could you please just”- The mother was saying, when she noticed our presence behind them.
“I'm only joking, I am Fred,” He said snickering, not waiting for his mother's reaction, she barely noticed because she was already looking at us.
“Excuse me, pardon me but we were wondering how to get through this uhm wall to get to the Hogwarts station.- I said shyly, motioning to my nephew.
“Sure thing dear, it's Ron's first time too” She said, presenting her son, he smiled and a timid little girl stood behind him. “You dear” She leveled to Harry´s height. “You just have to walk straight to the wall, and it will take you there”.
Harry looked at me waiting for my approval, I nodded. “Go on, I will be just behind you” I said reassuringly. He did just that and just like the other boy did, he also entirely disappeared.
“I must say what a lovely young mother you are, and how rude of me that I haven't introduced myself” The kind older woman said “I´m Molly Weasley, pleasure to meet you, oh and this girl over here is also my daughter, come on introduce yourself dear.”
“I´m Ginny” She said, giving me her hand to salute, I smiled at her and shook it, she was really the cutest.
“Pleasure to meet you both, my name is Edith Evans, and I just want to thank you for helping us.”
“Nonsense, it was nothing really” Molly said, I suddenly felt like she was inspecting me, like I reminded her of something or maybe someone.
“Anyways, I should go as well, Harry is expecting me, thank you so much again” I said feeling a little weird about how she was looking at me, and in a hurry I practically ran through the wall before I started regretting it, not seeing Molly´s face of recognition.
When I got there, I was once again in awe of how it was all real, the station, the magic and all the children and their parents saying their goodbyes. I started looking for Harry and when I saw a glimpse of his hair I ran towards him, surprising him as I hugged him.
“I'm going to miss you like hell” I said, trying not to let the tears come out.
“Oh Aunt Edith” He said, hugging me back. “I´m going to miss you too, very much.
I let him go first as I wiped his tears, my sweet boy was leaving so early, I could tell in his eyes that he was scared so I decided I had to be stronger than this.
“Come on Harry, I promise you will be fine, and if you don't like it there just tell me and I swear that no one will stop me from going there and taking you out myself.”
Harry laughed and I gently pushed him to take the train.
“You better write me kiddo” I yelled at him as he got on the train giving me one last look.
“I will”.
He did it. He was starting a new adventure at Hogwarts. I laughed, feeling so many emotions at the same time. I was reminded of my sister and how brightly she always looked when she arrived from Hogwarts. I hoped to see the same thing for my nephew, I just know he will.
I decided to leave immediately since I unfortunately had work to do back home, and with that I took another train home and while I was reading a book to pass the time, I began to feel my mind disturbed, a feeling of guilt overtaking me, with a sigh, I thought about how selfish I was, I purposely let that woman think I was her mother, and I didn't even bother to deny it.
“What would Lily think of me now...”
