The muggle Guardian
Summary
There it is, what I had wished to do for so long was already done, I was almost 29 with a steady job and a house back in the town I was raised so many years ago, back in Cokeworth. I almost got teary eyes when I saw Harry´s eyes, wide open, full of hope, those beautiful eyes where I could still see my sister reflected on them.

Chapter 4

“W-what do you mean? I thought you said my parents were in love”- Harry clung onto my arm demanding an explanation, surely the thought of their parents not being close as he thought would be a hard hit for him.

“Harry they were in love, I can guarantee that” I said to him softly ”But at the beginning they were on kind of a rough path, they bickered a lot, this is a secret but I was almost convinced that Lily was going to end up with a really strange looking boy who was always around her, he lived close by the way but I've never seen him again.

Harry shrugged his shoulders clearly, not caring about that unknown boy.

“So they figured things out then, I mean when they had me they were in love?” -Harry asked as he turned aways, not wanting me to see his face.

“Harry, there is no doubt in my mind about that, you should have seen them, they basically couldn't breathe without the other one close by.”-I responded and nudged him affectionately.

Harry seemed satisfied with my answer, we fell silent for a bit as we walked up the hill and finally got to see the view that I have been talking about ever since we arrived.

“Wow you were right, this is the best spot”.-Harry said with fascination in his eyes, I gained a proud smile, glancing around at the view I have loved my entire life.

“Tell me something, you always tell me about my mother but did you uhm get along with my father?”-Harry asked me.

“He was alright”- I said to him with a smirk, Harry just rolled his eyes and I slightly smacked the back of his head.-”Look, you will never see me praising James Potter ever, I know is childish but he basically stole Lily away, I was excited when she graduated because I thought I would have time with her for a while at least but James just suddenly was there, always there, even before graduation he was already installed in our lives.

“You make it sound like a bad thing”- Harry huffed, I ignored him and turned to look at the big old tree, I sat down and motioned for Harry to do the same.

With a groan I finally admitted -“It wasn't, he indeed grew on me with time, i´m telling you he was a menace, you just couldn't ignore him or he wouldn't stop until you cave in”-Harry hummed in response, lost in his thoughts once again. -“In a good way of course”- I added “I wonder who it reminds me of”.

Harry smiled and shrugged his shoulders. “That´s fair I suppose.”

We sat there in a comfortable silence, I closed my eyes as I enjoyed the breeze and the moment but was quickly interrupted as Harry nudged my shoulder so suddenly and with quite an urgency I almost choked.

“What in the world, what is it Harry?”- I asked him and got to my feet to see what he was so oh so stunned about.

“What is that?”-Harry asked in return, pointing to a small drawing on the tree.

A sense of recognition went through me when I saw what it was, it was in fact a small drawing of a heart with two initials engraved there, one for Lily and the other for the mysterious boy who lived nearby whose name remains unknown to me even now but whose initial I knew from this exact little vestige of a bygone time, a letter S was carved together with an L

"You're so dramatic sometimes Harry," I teased him and smacked him on the shoulder. "I told you about this boy before, right? Your mother really was a total heartbreaker."

“I didn't think it would be that serious” He mumbled

“Serious? Come on it's just a heart on a tree, I mean for a teenager might mean something but nothing happened really, that boy just disappeared as quickly as he arrived in our lives.”-I told him trying to seem reassuring, truth to be told I was serious when I said I thought Lily would end up with mysterious emo boy as I liked to call him in my head.

“Did you know him well?”-Harry asked
“Not at all, I never knew what I had exactly done to him, but he never seemed pleased with my presence, I found that insulting you know, I know I was a little girl and just wanted to play with them but he always scowled away and well they always got away from me the second I turned my head.

That didn't seem to please him.

“Harry this is completely unimportant, that boy doesn't matter, for Lily he couldn't hold a candle compared to James, trust me in that, in fact he does not matter so much this conversation is pointless.

He thankfully let it go and nodded in agreement. “ C'mon it's getting late and I need to get you home for my next shift.”

Harry followed me, I once again joined our arms and we walked home, we chatted about trivial stuff and said hello to some neighbors we saw in our way back home, when we arrived I made him dinner really fast and then prepared to go to the inn, before leaving the house I turned to him and smiled as he went through all the things he had bought in Diagon Alley with a spark in his eyes showing his excitement to the thought of going to Hogwarts.

“I really hope you had a good time” I said to him almost sounding like a question.

“The best of times aunt Edith” I nodded and left to work with a big grin on my face.
