Day 1 - Avery pt2

Day 1 - Avery's Pov pt.2

5 minutes passed, and Avery chuckled as Sirius quickly sat up in bed drenched in water. He quickly casted a silencing charm on him to keep him from waking up the others. He had tried to wake Sirius up after five minutes had passed, but Sirius had asked for five more. Avery had shook his head and dumped water over him.

"You asked for five more minutes, so I gave them to you. I tried to wake you again, but you asked for five more, and as a result, you're now drenched in water" Avery stated as he watched Sirius freak out over having water dumped on him.

Sirius glared at Avery and quickly got out of bed and walked over to Avery. He reached for his wand but remembered he was in his pajamas and his wand was at the night stand next to his bed. "Tsk, I can't believe Remus agreed to swapping places with a bloody snake of all people" He stated coldly.

Avery simply rolled his eyes. He wasn't affected by Sirius's words. Sirius let out a low growl when he received zero response. Sirius pushed past Avery and headed to the bathroom in order to get ready for the day. Avery wasn't fazed by Sirius's actions. In a way, it felt like he was dealing with Mulciber whenever Severus was out brewing something.

Mulciber was a clingy person, whether he likes it or not, and ever since arriving at Hogwarts Severus has become his primary source for affection. Given Mulciber's past and Severus's, he's not shocked at the outcome of their relationship. And despite Severus's disgust for human contact, Avery was sure he didn't mind so long as Mulciber didn't distract him from whatever it was he was doing.

Tho, whenever Severus decides to brew, Mulciber isn't allowed near him, so Avery has to deal with a teen pouting and fuming like a child. Avery let out a chuckle at the image of his friend. He walked back to where he was sitting before, and in due time, he'd have to wake up James and eventually Peter. He felt he might have a similar reaction from James like Sirius, but at least he knows Peter would be easier to wake.

Before Avery knew it, he was up and shaking James awake. To his amazement, James simply sat up groggily and lazily got out of bed. James walked to the bathroom, and just as he was about to grab the door nob, Sirius had opened the door and stepped out. James went in with small steps and then closed the door. Avery walked back over to his school trunk and pulled out the list of rules Remus had written for him.

Rules

1) Wake Sirius an hr before breakfast and wake James 30 mins before breakfast. Don't worry about Peter he wakes up on his own, and if James and Sirius aren't up by then, just dump water on them.

Avery mentally added a check mark next to it. The only person left to wake was Peter, but he didn't have to worry about him.

2) If James gets distracted by Lily and starts to bother her, just pinch Sirius or mention quidditch, it's your call.

Avery tried not to laugh, the last thing he wanted was for either of  Remus's friends to see this list. He continued to read it before folding it up when he heard the bathroom

door open and bed sheets rustling. 'Mm, seems Peter is awake now' He thought to himself. He turned his attention to the other boys in the room.

He noticed Peter's bed was already empty and both James and Sirius had changed their clothes. James was the one to break the silence that was filling the room. "So explain to us again, what kind of bet you and Remus made?" He asked with his arms crossed. Neither him nor Sirius were pleased with the bet and Avery was sure that Remus was dealing with the same issues with his friends.

"We switched friend groups to see which of our friends are more difficult to handle" Avery stated which caused Sirius to growl in response. "We are not difficult! If anyone is difficult it's you and your slimy friends!!" Sirius shouted out before walking out of the room. He wasn't about to let some slytherin claim that Remus was speaking lies about them.

James was annoyed but not enough to walk out like Sirius. "How long is this going to last?" He asked after a brief second of silence.

"A week, this bet is going to last a week or until one of us gives up" He answered and James's mind drifted off in thought.

A smile soon formed on James's face and he nodded at Avery's words. Without a word James walked out of the room and went in search of Sirius.

Avery watched him leave and sighed deeply. He knew that look that was plastered on James's face, it was the same one Klaus got whenever he was plotting against someone. Avery was snapped out of his thoughts when the bathroom was opened.

Peter didn't pay much attention to Avery, he didn't really care about the bet. He just hope there won't be much chaos in the dorm room, he'd like for his things to be intacted.

"So how is things going so far?"

Avery shrugged "I poured a bucket of water on Black"

Peter couldn't help but chuckle "I'm fairly certain you'll have to do that again, Remus does it alot"

Avery smiled and rolled his eyes, the thought of Remus constantly dosing Sirius with water is rather humorous to him. "Poor Remus, anyways we should head down to the great hall for breakfast"

Peter nodded and walked out of the room. Avery followed after him, atleast he didn't have to worry about Peter being against him....hopefully.

The pair walked down the stairs leading into the main room, Avery didn't catch sight of Sirius or James and assumed they must of have gone to the great hall already.

They went on in the direction of the great hall, once they arrived Avery saw James and Sirius sitting at the gryffindor table. Him and Peter walked over and sat down on the opposite side of them.

Avery ignored the odd looks he received from others, and Peter was more focused on quenching his hunger to notice the glare Sirius was giving Avery.

James was to busy eyeing Lily who was sitting a few feet away from them. Avery didn't really care, in a way it felt like he was with his own friends. Except these boys were actually quiet and that sorta bothered him a bit.

Breakfast went by in pure silence, something Avery would have to deal with for the rest of the week. The four boys decided to head on down to hogsmeade. Well more like James and Sirius decided, and bribed Peter with the promise of sweets.

Avery couldn’t help but chuckle, it was like seeing Mulciber and Evan bribe Severus to go outside. They all walked passed several shops, unsure of which to go to first.

"Let's go to Zonko's joke shop!"

"Yes!"

James and Sirius quickly bolted towards the joke shop, Peter and Avery were quick to follow after them.

Avery was the last to arrive and lost sight of the other boys. He sighed to himself and went looking around. He was sure he'd find them, plus he could get something for his own friends while he was at it.

Sirius and James watched as Avery was staring at some of the items. Neither of them said a word they simply turned to face eachother and giving eachother a knowing look and smile.

Without wasting another second, Sirius and James each rolled a dungbomb towards Avery and casted a simple spell to set them off.

Avery was busy examining one of the items sold when he was quickly covered in a cloud of green smoke. His eyes widen in shock, he looked around and caught sight of James and Sirius laughing.

He glared at them before letting out a sigh, luckily he was use to such smells given the amount of times Severus failed to wash up after making certain potions. He pulled out his wand got rid of the smoke and smell before the owner found out.

He then hit James and Sirius with a spell that covered their hair with some sort of green slime that couldn't be washed out. He smiled as they both shrieked in disgust and ran off, to what he assumed was back to hogwarts.

He smirked as he watched them leave.

Peter walked over to him with a look of confusion and slight sadness. Avery turned his attention towards Peter and gave him a small smile. He noticed the look of disappointment in his eyes and he knew why that was.

"Come on, Peter, let's go down to honeydukes I'm craving some liquorice wands, it'll be my treat"

At this Peter beamed with excitement at the prospect of sweets.

The rest of the day was spent at honeydukes with Avery telling Peter he could get whatever he wanted. And like a little kid on a candy shop, Peter rushed off to grab all of his favorite treats. Avery went about collecting treats he, himself, enjoyed and some for his friends for when the week ended.

Once they got and paid for everything they wanted they went back to hogwarts. Peter was practically buzzing with excitement and Avery wondered if buying all those sweets was a good idea. He shook his head and decided that would be something he'd worry about later.

Once they were back in their dorm room, Avery was quickly tackled by Sirius the minute he set foot into the room. He groaned softly and made a face of discomfort, he pushed Sirius off and stood up.

"Black, what the hell?!"

Sirius stood up quickly and smiled "Teach us!"

Avery tilted his head in confusion "I'm sorry what?"

Sirius rolled his eyes and pointed at his hair "Teach us this spell!" He said happily.

Avery thought for a moment, if he got into their good graces then his time here will be less difficult but he didn't want to teach them something that they could possibly use on his friends, especially severus. He made his decision after a minute or two.

"I will, but you have to swear never to use it on Severus or I'll hit with a spell so much worse" He stated with such seriousness as he held out his hand. He didn’t even have to wait a second for Sirius's response.

"Deal"

Sirius took hold of Avery's hand and shook it. He wasn't fond with the fact he won't be able to get the chance to use the spell on Snape, but he had other people he could use the spell on so it was alright. Now he couldn’t wait to sneak back home during vacation and use it on his mother.

Avery saw the small gleam in Sirius's eyes and wondered what it was he was planning. He discarded those thoughts because at least Severus won't be targeted. He let go of Sirius's hand and picked up the bag of sweets he had dropped.

"Alright, so who wants snacks?" He asked and quickly Sirius lost focused of his plans and became focused on getting snacks. This also caught James's attention. Peter, on the other hand, was happily sitting on his bed with his own bag of snacks.

Avery couldn’t help but laugh as Sirius took the bag and dumped whatever was inside onto the ground. All three boys quickly sat around the pile and went about eating what they wanted.

Luckily for Avery, he had a second bag filled with sweets, that he shrunk, hidden within his pocket.
