Avery
Day 1 - Avery's Pov
Avery was the first to wake up, he was about to go and reach for his wand to turn off the alarm Severus had casted until he realized that it was silent. The only noises he heard were the soft snores coming from the boys in the other beds.
It took him a minute to remember where he was. He was in the gryffindor commons, he had switched places with Lupin the other night. He was still in shock that Lupin had agreed to swap places, he assumed the chocolate loving gryffindor would not accept, but he did.
He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and picked up the list he was given. He let out a chuckle as he read the first rule.
1) Wake Sirius an hr before breakfast and wake James 30 mins before breakfast. Don't worry about Peter he wakes up on his own and if James and Sirius aren't up by then just dump water on them.
He shook his head and stood up to stretch. He then grabbed his wand and casted a quick tempus, the time showed was 5 am. By now he would check to see if Severus was still in the room, in his bed or Mulciber's, or down in the commons. He usually took Severus down to the kitchen to make him eat breakfast before taking him back to their dorm to wake up the others at 6, who will then get dressed and ready by 7 for breakfast.
It soon hit him that he didn't have to do that, that he could simply go back to sleep but he couldn't, he was so used to waking up at 5 that he simply couldn't just fall back asleep like anyone else. He frowned when he realized he would be doing nothing for 2 hrs for 6 more days.
"Maybe I shouldn't have made this bet" He muttered to himself. He sighed softly and began to get dressed for the day. 'Maybe I'll read or something' he thought to himself. He finished getting dressed and opened his trunk to pick out a book.
Not a second after he opened his trunk he quickly closed it. He stood up and walked out of the room, he set up an alarm for when it was 10 minutes before 6 and he had to head back to wake the others. Maybe he'll run into Severus and see if he ate.
As he made his way out of the commons he began wondering if he should call off the bet. As much as he looked forward to not have to take care of his friends for a full week, he was now regretting it. It hasn't even been a day and already he missed his morons.
Even tho he had to watch over 3 other morons it just didn't feel right. Avery was so lost in thought that it caused him to run into someone. He looked to see who he ran into and chuckled. There in front of him was Remus Lupin, who was currently looking like nervous wreck.
"Woah Lupin" He said and caught Remus's attention. "Sorry" Remus muttered, and Avery couldn't help but smile "Don't worry about it, why are you in such a hurry anyways?" He asked tho he assumed that one of his boys must be the cause of it.
Remus chuckled nervously "So I read the list you made for me and I may have lost Snape" He spoke and this almost gave Avery a heart attack. Before he could pull out his wand hex the him, Remus quickly spoke up again "But hey not to fear he's probably with Mulciber!"
Avery froze and gave him a strange look and after several seconds, he burst out laughing 'Oh he is so screwed' he thought to himself. "Oh if you think it's fine for Severus to be alone with Mulciber you are dead wrong" He stated while smiling. Truth be told it was safe for the two to be alone together, the only issue is that Severus would hex Mulciber everyone in a while but nothing to severe.
Honestly if them being alone would be a problem he'd have written it down but he had not. So if Lupin believes his lie then that's on him, he gave him a list for a reason. Surely he would take a quick look at the list if he did believe him, ya know just to make sure he was telling the truth.
Alas he did not instead Remus just stared at Avery with a look of disbelief "Uh okay...so uh do you know where he might be?" He asked. Avery simply smirked "Beats me, have fun Lupin" He said as he walked away, once he was out of Lupin's view his alarm went off.
He pulled out his wand and cancelled the alarm 'Time to head back' He thought, he looked around and noticed he was near the dungeons. He debated whether or not he should go see his boys, he knew Severus was in the kitchen and Mulciber had probably gone with him. He had sent Mulciber to take Severus to get breakfast whenever he, himself, would get sick- which didn't happen alot.
He shook his head and made his way back to the gryffindor commons. 'Hopefully Evan will help keep them alive' He thought 'or get them all killed' his mind added and he sighed deeply. "Nope not gonna think about that" He said as walked up the stairs leading to the entrance to the gryffindor commons.
He smiled as he got closer to the portrait that guards the commons "Hello Serena" He said happily as he finally reached the top of the stairs. The fat lady, who had been nicknamed Serena by Severus, smiled excitedly "Oh hello my darling poet" She said happily, if she could jump out of her frame she'd have given him a big hug.
"Where's my precious little trinket?" She asked while trying to look behind him. Avery chuckled softly and shook his head "He isn't here with me today, Serena, remember me and Lupin swapped places so your little trinket is with him" He stated and this caused Serena to frown.
She crossed her arms and let out a huff. She wanted to serenade her little trinket, she had worked on hitting a high note in a small song she wrote for him. She had been serenading her little trinket ever since he called her Serena in his 3rd year. Severus had come to her one winter day when everyone was gone for Christmas and asked if he could call her Serena.
He didn't like to call her fat lady as it was simply insulting. He was upset that they didn't name her something nicer or atleast asked her what she would have liked to be called given that she nor anyone seemed to know her name. So he decided to give her a new name for Christmas as a gift, she always seemed to sing so he figured he'd call her Serena, or something pertaining to music.
Tho when he told her she quickly fell in love with the name Serena and so that's what he would call her whenever he came to see her along with his friends. Now Avery was here in front of her yet again without her little trinket, what's worse is that supposedly her little trinket was being looked after by a boy who allows his friends to torment him.
"He have better take good care of my little trinket or I'll jump out of this frame and end you both" She stated angrily. She loved her darling poet but she loved her little trinket far more. Avery simply nodded "I swear if anything happens to him, I'll personally help you come out of your frame" He said in a serious tone.
This seemed to please her and she opened up to allow him inside the gryffindor commons. He thanked her and stepped inside, he quickened his pace and practically leaped up the stairs. He almost tripped half way up and had cursed under his breath. Once he reached the top he rushed over to the dorm room he had to reside in.
He stepped inside and walked over to where Sirius slept. He pulled back the curtain and attempted to shake him awake. Sirius groaned, turned over, and muttered under his breath about getting 5 more minutes of sleep. Avery sighed and simply shook his head "Whatever" he muttered if Sirius didn't wake up in 5 minutes he would dump water on him.
Now he had to wait to wake up James and if he too asks for 5 more minutes then he would do the same thing he plans to do to Sirius. So for now he'll read a book and wait till he had to wake up James and to see if he had to dump water on Sirius. Something he silently prayed to lady magic would be the case.
