Switching Places

Hours went by and Remus was exhausted. He had ran around all over the castle in search of Severus but he was not able to find him. Not even with the map was he able to find that bastard. He also wasn't able to find Lily which made things harder for him.

He had tried speaking with Avery but that bloody arse refused to help him, he said he had his own troublemakers to look after plus he gave him a list to help him. "Come on Remus think where would he go" he said to himself

"Where would who go?"

Remus quickly turned around and there before him was the very person he had been searching for "You!!" He shouted out angrily. Severus flinched and Remus's anger quickly vanished. He shook his head and let out a sigh "Sorry, where did you go? I've been looking for you everywhere..." He asked.

Severus tilted his head and smiled "I was with Lily" He said and began walking to the Slytherin common room. Remus was quick to follow him "Where's Mulciber?" He asked.

"In the forbidden forest"

Remus stopped in his tracks "What the hell is he doing there?!" He shouted out. Severus simply turned around and smiled. The smile itself was enough to send a shiver down Remus's spine but the words he spoke was enough to have him running.

"He said something bad so now he's paying the price" Severus said softly, he turned back around and walked away. Remus turned the other direction and began to run towards the forbidden forest.

Thoughts plaqued his mind as he wondered what it is Severus did or what Mulciber had said. He hoped that Mulciber would be alright by the time he reached him, only merlin would what would happen if something bad happened to Mulciber.

Honestly how would Avery reacted if he found out about this "Damn you Snape" He muttered as he stepped foot into the forest. He looked around and debated whether or not to call out his name while walking further into the forrest. "Ah to hell with it..." He took in a deep breath and held his hands up to his mouth "Mulciber!!" He shouted out.

He waited a bit for a response but when none came he shouted out Mulciber's name again and again and again. He continued this as he walked through the forest in search of him. His feet began to ache and he then bagen wondering if Mulciber was even in here or alive given how dangerous the forrest is.

He was about to call out Mulciber's name once again but he froze up as he came face to face with a centaur. "Merlin I'm gonna die" He thought as he watched the centaur pull out a bow and arrow and aimed at him. Remus watched as the centaur let go of the arrow but instead of it shooting thru him the arrow was blasted into bits.

Both Remus and the centaur looked in the direction in which the blast of magic came from. There standing a few feet from them was none other than Evan Rosier, Remus felt utter relief when he saw him. 

The centaur quickly pulled out another arrow and aimed at Evan, but Evan seemed to be quicker and was able to cast the confundus charm on him. He quickly rushed over to Remus and took his hand. The pair quickly ran towards the exit of the forrest while the centaur was trying to fight off the effect of the charm.

Once they both made it out of the forrest Remus came face to face with the hard ground "What the hell where you thinking going in there!!" Evan shouted out in anger. Remus slowly lifted himself up and breathed heavily "I was-" he began but was interrupted.

"You're as stupid as your friends, I honestly can't believe Avery came up with this stupid deal" He stated and let out a deep sigh "Forget it" He added and walked off. Remus brushed himself off and quickly ran infront off him "Snape said Mulciber was in there!" He shouted out.

Evan stopped walking and glared at him. After a few seconds he began to laugh "Merlin! And you bloody believed him!!" Remus stared at him in confusion and anger. He opened his mouth to say something but Evan beat him to it "Did it not occur to you that maybe Severus was just messing you!!! Honestly with the way you and your friends had treated him you really think he'd ever tell you the truth about literally anything!!"

Remus thought for a moment and he realized that Evan was right. He and his friends weren't the kindest towards Severus so it shouldn't be shocking that Severus would lie to him. He let a groan and dropped to his knees, bloody hell he really was an idiot. 

Evan patted his shoulder while still laughing. Remus simply stared at the ground in some trance but was soon snapped out of it when Evan spoke "Come on Lupin, get up"

"Why.."

"Because I don't feel like dragging your body on over to the three broomsticks, that's why now get up"

Remus looked up at him in confusion but did as told. The pair then made their towards hogsmeade and Remus wanted to question what was happening but thought it be best to keep silent.

They soon arrived at the three broomsticks, Evan led him to a table in the back. Once they sat down Evan went ahead and ordered two butterbeers. 

Remus couldn't help but continue to wonder why Evan even brought him here, he was so caught up with his thoughts that he didn't noticed that Madam Rosmerta had brought them their butterbeer or that he was staring at Evan.

"Are you done staring or do you need some more time?"

Remus snapped out of his thoughts and he felt his face heat up in embarassment "I'm sorry- I didn't mean too" He muttered and Evan laughed "Oh relax, it's fine. I can tell you're curious to know why I brought you here anyways" He said and when Remus nodded in confirmation he continued.

"After today it's only gonna worse, Lupin. That list Avery left is probably the only thing that will help keep you alive and sane" He added and then took a sip of his butterbeer "You don't have to worry about Mulciber, he isn't much trouble unless we're with him and as for Severus all I can say is good luck" He said calmly and took another sip of his butterbeer.

Remus took a sip of his own butterbeer "Can you help me with Snape?" He asked after several minutes of silence. Evan thought for a minute and smiled "No, but I will say this. If you wanna try and get him to be civil with you maybe you should apologize to him first" He said and then downed the rest of his butterbeer.

Evan stood up and took several galleons from his pocket before placing them on the table "There's some extra galleons incase you wish to order another butterbeer, I'm heading back to Hogwarts" He stated, Remus smiled and thanked him. Evan nodded "Goodluck Lupin" He said before walking away.

Remus leaned back into his seat and sighed deeply before dowing the rest of his own butterbeer "Madam Rosmerta! Another Butterbeer please!" He shouted out as she walked by, she simply nodded and went to go fetch him his drink. He stared at the empty glass infront of him and smiled "I won't let them win" He said to himself with sheer determination and ran out of the three broomsticks and towards the Hogwarts.
