Astral Void
Summary
Being a God was not at all what he'd thought it'd be. Not that he'd thought about it often. The observants have made it seem like it was a huge deal, while Clockwork had only given him a small smile and shrug paired with a look that clearly meant he knew more than he was willing to tell. Speaking of Clockwork, he'd also gotten him a present. I small metal box that seemed to be a moveable puzzle. It didn't look all that hard... a little twist here, and a few buttons pressed there...And that is not what he had been expecting.

Chapter 1

Clockwork had asked him many times. The answer had been the same all of those times.

No, he did not know why he was "ascending" into god-hood. No, he did not have even the faintest idea.

If he'd had any idea this was going to happen, then he clearly would've come running and yelling to Clockwork months ago. But no, he didn't know it was happening, and now he's about to become a god within the next 2 hours.

Clockwork hadn't even tried to hide his glee. Ghost was practically flying circles at the news. Which Danny did not consider a good sign. At all.

So what if Clockwork is also a God.

If he's such an important God, who knows about all things Time, why didn't he say something when the whole ascending thing started happening. Which according to Clockwork, was a few months ago. He had entire months to stop this from happening, or to at least warn anyone (Danny included) but no, leave it to the weird cryptic God of Fucking Time, to not do shit.

And with that last thought, he calms down. Sulks, actually.

He's sulking.

He's also staring down the reflective mirror-like object floating in front of him. He's in what Clockwork described to him as his "Godly Plane". Whatever that even means.

His plane is a vast void of never-ending stars. At least he thinks it's never-ending. He doesn't actually know.

Along with his sulking, he's also fidgeting with the metal box in his hands. A gift from aforementioned God of Time. Called it a housewarming gift. Presented it in a way that reminded him less of a housewarming and more of when your mom buys one of those fidget toys and passes it to you before you end up tearing up her brand new couch or bringing up an embarrassing topic.

Speaking of fidgeting, the box was almost open. He could tell cause of the bit of give it had. There were probably about 2 or 3 more puzzles before it popped right open. And then he'd be bored. Again.

Maybe if he bugged Clockwork enough, he'd bring him to his Godly Plane.

And with that last thought, the little box pops. He really isn't expecting anything to be inside. It's light, lighter than you'd think a metal box covered in puzzles would be. It also seems too small for anything interesting to be put inside. That is, unless it's bigger on the inside, but he doubts that. So, he slots his fingers right in between the 2 sides of the box and pulls, watching it pop right open.

And out flies a barrage of colors.

He had not expected that in the least.

His body can't seem to decide on whether he should be on the defensive or offensive as the last of the bright fast multi-colored lights make its way out of the box.

He watches, arms still raised, ready to fight if needed. But nothing comes. And now there's a bunch of oddly-colorful small star speck things floating about his general area in his Godly Plane.

So... Clockwork put a bunch of decorations in a puzzle box?

That, that actually seems house-warmy.

He drifts closer to them, looking them over. They're bright, and at a certain distance become too bright to look at head-on. But he doesn't care for his eye safety. He cares about how cool it is that he has a bunch of colorful stars in his own Godly Plane!

And then he holds one. Really grabs it and brings it really close as he keeps his eyes closed. There's really only 2 ways for this to work out. He either opens his eyes and everything's fine, or he opens his eyes and gets blinded by the way to close decoration. Only one way to find out.

So he opens his eyes. And it's nothing like he expected. The star that he grabbed had given off a dark green light. But with it near his face he could see that the light faded to white the closer it got to the middle, and the middle was not white. It was not what he expected at all.

The middle of the star was like a piece of glass, colored lightly of the color the star gave off. And through that glass, he could see people. Many people. All dressed up in flowy clothing, walking about what looked to be an old castle. They chatted, and ran about, carefree and unnoticing of his gaze.

And with a light press of his hand to the glass, he watched as his fingers passed right through it and appeared on the other side.

What exactly had Clockwork given him as house decorations?
