the petty ways gods deal (and we mortals suffer)

Helena was brushing her hair as she was mentally  planning out her day. She figured that there really wasn’t much to do, which was odd because there was usually something going but for some reason there was nothing. All her siblings were out on a mission and weren’t due back home for another two- three days.

Reggikins wasn’t home either which was weird because he usually stayed and Helena didn’t really leave her room only to eat so she didn’t know where Pogo and Mom were either.

This seemed like the perfect time to learn some more magic but Helena wasn’t in the mood too. She wanted a lazy day of just peace and no scheming. When she was in Hogwarts in her past life usually she’d spend the time with Ron playing another game of chess she would inevitably lose or skimming books with hermione.

This was disconcerting, doing everything by herself and that sent a pang of longing though her body but it was impossible. Hermione and Ron wouldn’t be able to come to this earth and Helena had to accept that fact.

She resolutely ignored the poisonous whispers of, “What if” running through her head. It was impossible, it was never going to happen and she was going to stop thinking about that right this instant.

After her hair was braided and she tidied up her room here and there Helena picked out a book that Ben asked her to read forever ago and just sighed. She had the ability to do whatever she wanted but peace and quiet seemed like something not happening now-a-days. Either she was studying or helping her siblings and keeping track of Reginald and all his nefarious activities.

She didn’t really have time to breathe sometimes so she wasn’t going to take this day of peace for granted.

Helena belly flopped on the bed and had a book in hand. It was the Narnia series which she never really had the chance of reading but it looked interesting with the way that Ben raved on and on about it.

So Helena was going to spend her time reading the books.

TIme passed like sand slipping though your fingers and the next thing she knew when she checked the time it was midnight. Helena groaned when she finally sat up feeling her neck sore and stuff from disuse. She didn’t eat anything the entire day and could feel the effect of that as her stomach growled.

Eating was way too much work and Helena just didn’t want to do it. What was the point of doing that?

Helena knew that if she spoke these thoughts out loud her siblings would smother her in love and affection so she was just going to keep silent about that. So she didn’t get up from her bed even though know she really had to. At this point it seemed like a great idea too take a nap, she could always eat another time.

Right well that’s what she was planning on doing until for some reason she had this strange feeling. It would sound silly for her to get worked up over these feelings but they had saved her life and her well being many many times over her years at hogwarts.

She didn’t know how to explain this feeling well but it was like something just pushing her towards some general direction and giving her massive anxiety over that fact.

Helena took a deep breath and tried not to freak out because freaking out wasn’t going to help her at all. So she took another deep breath because maybe she was just freaking out for no reason and nothing was going wrong and she really should start looking in therapy. That made her want to start laughing because any sane therapist would be running for the hills with the amount of trauma she had going on in her life.

As much as she wanted to run after that feeling Helena decided on ignoring it because what would she do? Walk around looking for the source of the weird feeling. Yeah she was not going to do that because as much as she likes to make fun of Reginald his security and all the cameras were no joke. It would be fun to explain why she was walking around when she barely came out of her room at all.

Listen Helena loved teleporting outside and for some reason Reginald never caught on to that fact or decided to blissfully ignore it for whatever reason that Helena did not want to know or to figure out.

She resolved to “check” on this feeling much later when it was darker and a bit easier to escape the scrutiny. Besides teleporting as easy and fun as it was could easily give her away and no way after all this time was she giving herself over something as stupid as teleporting. She would rather be caught in other ways and not something so avoidable and embarrassing.

After a long day of laying there and doing absolutely nothing her hair was sort of tangled even though it was in a braid since it became looser. She took her hair out of her braid and put in a messy bun and hummed thoughtfully for a minute.

Yup there was nothing she was going to do even though there probably was but was making convenient excuses so she didn’t have to do something and then ending up in a bigger mess  and she wasn’t in the mood for all of this.

Helena's face planted on her pillows and screamed her frustrations because why was she acting like this. It wasn’t that serious and she should stop being such a baby about something that WASN’T GOING TO HAPPEN.

So there she lay while tracing her fingers on the covers of her bed while her eyes slowly tried to slip closed and soon in a minute she was out.

“Where are we” A feminine voice murmured into the darkness

“I don’t know” Someone masculine responded back

“This is odd because-” The voice was cut off with someone  else interjecting

“You guys are safe” A deep very familiar melodious voice responded

The feminine voice that Helena was going to dub Vee because saying the words feminine constantly was actually getting annoying and the masculine one Lee.

Vee sighed, “Well yeah but where are we”

Lee hummed in agreement

The voice laughed, “where you should be but might not enter”

Lee muttered, “What the heck is that supposed to mean”

Vee agreed, “cryptid much?”

The voice continued, “But if you make it, good luck and tell her I said, hi”

Lee stated out loud, “Say hi to who”

Helena wanted to ask that same question too but her vision disappeared and she was awake again.

What was that because that was weird and just gave her a bigger headache but at the moment she couldn’t decode the cryptid dreams at the moment. Helena wanted to groan because she thought she was done with the cryptid dreams. Didn’t she have enough of them when he was at hogwarts?

It was horrendous to say but she preferred nightmares than the dreams that just gave her a headache and more trouble to figure out later.

“Time to bring out the trusty old notebook” Helena sighed letting her braid be unbraided and twirling her hair into a bun.

It was kind of nostalgic thought because it reminded her of when she had all these dreams because of Voldemort and she and her friends would take hours deciphering or decoding them. It was a major pain but it was also kind of fun. Her body started to feel a little tingly and she tried to ignore it. It was like her chest had ants running up and down them and she was trying to ignore it.

She finally looked down and gasped because where there used to be an empty patch of skin that damned scar was back.

Helena thought to herself grimly, “What are you guys up to now”

Meanwhile

‘That wasn’t us’ death muttered

‘Who the hell was is it’ fate asked

There was an ominous feeling that both death and fate felt, an ominous player that they both sealed away ages. Someone who worked behind the shadows but dear mortals loved them dearly.

Someone who used to be fates other half

An ominous whisper arose

‘you can’t run from desire darling’

Time shrieked in defiance, “not her, not that wretched witch”

Then she smiled

“If my darling sister wants to play”

“Lets play”
