Hogwarts Castle

Final Task of the Triwizard Tournament

Viktor Krum, Fleur Delacour, Cedric Diggory, and Hadriana Potter, the four champions of the Triwizard Tournament have met up inside the maze for the final task.  They became friends on that fateful Halloween night when their names came out of The Goblet of Fire and the three eldest realized that the youngest amongst them could not and did not want to enter.  They helped each other every step of the way and trained together.  Their game plan for this last step was to get together, work as a unit because the competition is about unity, get to the cup, and claim it together.  So that is what they did, and they worked through the maze nearly flawlessly, there were still injuries, until they stand before the cup.

“Together,” Hadriana says looking at the others.

They are all standing side by side as the others nod in agreement and say together.  As one the four students step up and touch the cup.  They all feel a familiar pull behind their navels and three of them realize that something bad is coming their way.  Hadriana feels nauseous as the still somewhat new sensation.  They all land in a graveyard, Cedric trips and hits his head on a gravestone getting knocked out, Viktor and Fleur share a quick glance as they fall pretending, they have been knocked out as well, and Hadriana falls on her bum and stands back up at once.  She sees the others and begins to limp her way over to them when a familiar burning sensation is felt from her scar.

“Such a shame they are all dead.”

            Hadriana hisses out, “Traitor!”

Peter Pettigrew comes walking out of the darkness of a building, in his arms is a skeletal figure, and Hari screams as she grabs her forehead falling to her knees.  Viktor and Fleur watch and wait for the right moment to act.

A voice hisses out from the small figure, “Begin the ritual my servant.”

Pettigrew casts a spell and forces Hari against a statue and its arms move to hold her tightly against it.  She struggles to in vain to get free.  Peter walks to a giant caldron and drops the body into it as it is heating up.  He begins the ritual:

Bone of the father, unknowingly given, you will renew your son.

Flesh of the servant, willingly given, you will revive your master

Blood of the enemy, forcibly taken, you will resurrect your foe.

Hari screams in pain as the body rises from the cauldron and begins to take shape.  While they are occupied Fleur and Viktor slowly make their way to Cedric, by the time they make it to where he is the ritual is done, and they force themselves to relax and lay still to make it seem as if they were always closer to him than what they were.  Voldemort goes over to the rat, gets his wand, and calls his Death Eaters to him.  They appear, he reveals who they are, and berates them for not searching for him.  He then turns his attention to Hari and begins to taunt her about her mother.

Hari looks at him, “At least my mother had magic unlike Tom Riddle, your muggle father, you’re nothing but a bigot half-blood Tom Marvolo Riddle.”

In anger he casts the torture curse on her, “Crucio!  How do you know that?” he asks as he lets the curse fall.

Hari grits her teeth and grins, “You told me or at least your diary liked to gloat when he thought he was winning,” she looks at Lucius Malfoy, “thanks for slipping it to Ginny Weasley two years ago.”

Voldemort looks at Lucius, “You gave my horcrux to a CHILD!”

Lucius, “My Lord I had no idea, I meant it to be used to put those blood traitors in their place.”

            Voldemort yells, “CRUCIO!”, at Malfoy.

He then turns and sets Hari free, “First things first though, I’ll kill you and take over the Wizarding World.  Come now Hadriana bow like Dumbledore would want you to, like all his puppets do.”

Hari looks at him, “I cut those strings earlier this year, I am no one’s puppet any longer.”

He forces her to bow, and their duel begins.  He is throwing curses at her, and she is dodging them, hiding behind tombstones and statues.  While this is happening, Cedric comes to, and the others get his attention telling him to stay quiet.  Voldemort taunts Hari again, at that she comes out of hiding with determination all over her face.

            “Avada Kedavera.”

            “Expelliarmus!”

Two beams of light meet and create a sight that is rarely seen the Priori Incantateum, a gold cage surrounds the two of them, ghosts come forth one is of a muggle caretaker that she seen in her dreams, the next two to come out are Lily and James Potter, and last is Bertha Jorkins.  Hari looks at her parents with sadness and longing.

Lily, “Stay strong we love you.”

James, “We are going to by you time, but you have to be quick and leave.”

Lily, “We will hold them off as long as we can.”

The other three champions have snuck up behind her ready to grab on to Hari.

James, “It’s time to let go.”

            Hari looks at them, “But…”

James and Lily, “Let go now!”

Hari does so and the ghosts fly forward at the Death Eaters and their master.  Cedric and Viktor grab both girls tightly to them as Cedric accios the cup to him, he and Viktor grab it at the same time pulling it in to touch the girls as well, and the four of them disappear.  Voldemort screams to the sky once the ghosts are gone and they see that the children have vanished into the night.  He then tortures his servants to ease his anger Wormtail gets the worst of it.

June 8th, 2941, Third Age

Middle Earth, Trollshaws

Troll camp

The company of Thorin Oakenshield has been captured by three mountain trolls.  Dori, Ori, Nori, Bofur, Bifur, and Dwalin are all tied to a spit over a fire. Thorin, Fili, Kili, Bombur, Balin, Oin, Gloin, and Bilbo have been tied up in sacks and dropped in a pile.  The trolls are arguing over how to cook them when one mentions the sun and being turned into stone.  Bilbo realizes that he needs to stall for time and gets up hopping closer in his sack.

“Wait!”  He yells, “You’re doing it all wrong.”

“Wrong?” One askes, “I suppose you know about cooking Dwarf?”

“You can’t reason with them they’re halfwits,” Dori yells.

“Halfwits, what does that make us?” Bofur tries to joke at the situation.

“Yes, I do first you have to skin them.”

This causes the company to begin yelling at him with Dwalin saying, “I’ll remember this.”

Another scoffs, “I’ve eaten plenty raw before,” he picks up Bombur and dangles him over his mouth.

Bilbo yells, “Not that one, he’s got worms in his tubes.  They’re all infected with parasites.”

“You’re the one with parasites!”, yells Kili.

All of the Dwarrow begin to yell at Bilbo and the trolls.  Bilbo sighs and his body sags in exasperation.  That’s when Thorin realizes that Bilbo’s words have all been a ruse to stall for time, maybe he has seen the blasted wizard.  This causes him to kick out with his foot hitting Kili his youngest nephew.  Kili turns to look at him and Thorin gives him a look that says play along.

Kili shouts out, “I’ve got the biggest parasites you’ve ever seen they’re huge!”

The Dwarrow then begin to compare their fake parasites yelling at the trolls.  Bilbo hopes that they believe them.  It is at this time a bright light appears above them all and four young humans fall from the sky.  The three trolls, Hobbit, and 13 Dwarrow stare at them speechless, then Dwalin starts to yell about being stationary over the fire.

Hari casts, “Aguamenti!”, which causes the flames to go out.

This sends relief to Dwalin and the others that are tied to the spit.  The trolls get angry and try to catch the four children.

The moonlight glints off of the large cooking pot catching Hadriana’s attention she gives a swish and flick incanting, “Wingardium Leviosa”, and sends it flying into the trolls knocking one out and the other two down in their confusion.

Cedric and Fleur cast, “Bombarda”, at the first one that gets up which causes his head to explode due to the same spell being cast in tandem at him.

Viktor yells out “Sectumsempra!” severing the head of the third one from its shoulders.

The Dwarrow and Hobbit begin to cheer and look relieved at their rescue, even if their saviors came out of nowhere.  Cedric and Viktor start freeing those on the spit, Cedric makes sure they don’t fall while Viktor frees them, Dwalin being the first down helps them by rotating the spit.  Fleur and Hari begin to free those that are tied up in the sacks.  They are getting the last ones free when a man in gray shows up.

“The dawn will take you all!”, Gandalf the Gray slams his staff down on top of the boulder he is on cracking it in two pieces letting the sunshine through causing all three trolls to turn into stone.

“You’re late Tharkun,” Thorin says as he nods to Fleur in thanks as she frees him, “Where did you go?”

            “To scout ahead.”

            “And what brought you back?”

“Looking behind, but you are all safe.”

“No thanks to you, if it wasn’t for our burglar and these four Istari children we wouldn’t be.”

Gandalf ignores him and looks at the trolls, “They have come down from the Ettenmoors.”

Hari watches as this new wizard blows off the midget or whatever he is, doesn’t matter because he’s an adult and adults can’t be trusted, the same with this Dumbledore wanna be they are both dangerous and need watching.  She looks around and takes in the others they all look like adults, there are maybe three that she could possibly trust, two remind her of Fred and George, then there is a shy one that reminds her of Neville, and the others will need to be watched, especially that old goat she can tell he is meddlesome.

Thorin looks at him, “When do Mountain Trolls come this far from the mountains?”

“Not since a darker power ruled these lands, there must be a cave nearby.”

Hari groans internally thinking to herself, ‘I am not taking care of another worlds dark lord forget it, I don’t want to deal with the one back home, I’m just a kid this will not fall on my shoulders.  Idiot adults creating messes and expecting a child to clean it up!’

Thorin has Dwalin, Bofur, Nori, and Gloin follow him to find the cave.  Dori, Ori, Bifur, Fili, and Kili return to the camp to pack up and bring everyone’s belongings and grab the other ponies to bring them to the trolls camp. Bilbo, Balin, Oin, and Bombur sit to rest after their ordeal or in Bilbo’s case being checked over by Oin to make sure he has no injuries from being manhandled by the trolls.

Fleur has maneuvered Hari to sit on a rock while she treats the younger girls injuries.  The first injury she attends to is the cut on her arm where her blood was used to revive Voldemort.  Then she turns her attention to the burn from the blast ended skewrt and begins to heal it, she notices some scars on the girl and promises herself to check it out later.  Hari while Fleur is working pulls a vile out of her necklace and uncorks it dropping a couple drops of liquid on the acromantula bite and it begins to burn off the poison and knitting the skin on her leg back together.

Fleur looks at her surprised, “That is acromantula poison what do you have that would do that?”

Hari smiles fondly, “After my mishap in second year, Fawkes the phoenix gave me a vial of his tears just in case, he always makes sure I have a full vial.”

Cedric and Viktor have helped each other with their wounds then come over and help Fleur with hers.  The others are listening to them talk.

Cedric, “So Hari it’s really true then what they say about your first Halloween at school when you were 11, that you and Ron fought a troll.”

Hari huffs, “Yes Cedric I jumped on a trolls back and stuck my wand up his nose to keep him from attacking Hermione.  Then Ron levitated his club out of his hand and hit him with it,” she walks over to the cup and studies it as the others choke in disbelief about two children fighting a full grown troll, “Well whatever magic turned the cup into a portkey it is gone.”

Viktor, “So we are stuck here until we find another way home.”

            Fleur, “It seems that way.”

Cedric, “We need to learn it fast then or hope that they realize we are gone and find a way to rescue us, the wizarding world needs to know that You-Know-Who is back.”

Hari snorts, “They won’t believe us.”

            Cedric, “They will.”

Hari laughs bitterly, “Oh yes just like they believed me when I said that I didn’t have someone put my name in the goblet, Dumbledore believes I had someone else do it so it must be true.  Poor Hadriana Potter the hero orphan that wants fame and attention, so she paid someone to put her name in, everything she does is for attention.  Not to mention second year when they all thought I had a monster attacking students just because I can speak to snakes, and they consider it a trait of dark wizards or witches, but they have forgotten so much of their history that they don’t remember that our healers used to speak Parseltongue because the spells to heal are more powerful.  Do not count on any of the adults back home to help us find a way back,” she hisses at him, “adults can not be trusted they only have two uses for children and those are to use them and when they are done using them the second use, they have is to abuse them, adults can not be trusted.  If we want to get home, we are on our own.”

Cedric starts to say something when Viktor comes up and puts a hand on Hari’s shoulder in support, “She is right Cedric.”

Fleur nods and puts her hand on Hari’s other shoulder, “She’s right it had to have been a teacher, or an adult under a disguise using Polyjuice potion.”

Cedric sighs and nods, “Okay you three are right about that, but it doesn't explain why we are here and where we are.”

While they were all talking the others had either returned from the camp or the cave and had been listening their hearts breaking at the pain heard in the young girls voice, because to them children are precious and should never be taken for granted.  They also didn’t understand why adults would let a young one fight a troll at such a young age and untrained at that.  Gandalf steps over to them after giving a short sword to Bilbo.

He clears his throat and when they turn their attention to him, he smiles kindly with a twinkle in his eye that sets Hari on edge, “I may be able to help some, you are on Arda the land is Middle Earth and we are in the Trollshaws.  I am not sure why you are here, but we may be able to help each other out, you see my companions and I are on a quest…”

Hari cuts him off with hysterical laughter, “NO way you meddlesome old goat, I know your kind, you offer a little bit of help here and there, but leave the rest of us to handle the rest because you will leave before the dangerous parts happen, then you will return all smiling kindly and twinkling eyed acting like a concerned grandfather but you won’t listen to anyone’s concerns and will brush them off as unimportant!  I have had my life dictated by a wizard like you and I was a pawn in his game, but no more, he will never control my life again.”, she looks at her other companions close to tears, “We need to find our own way home.”

Fleur in that moment is reminded so much of her little sister Gabrielle that she pulls the distraught young lady into her arms and whispers, “I understand but we need help, we need to at least stick with them until we find a safe place to rest and recuperate.  Also, we do not know the adults here may be different than the ones that we are used to, we don’t have to trust them, but we need the help, and they owe us a life debt.  That means if they are honorable, they will not let us come to harm until it is paid.”

Viktor stands between them and Gandalf, he is also in front of them blocking them from view to give them privacy.  He has grown fond of the littlest among them, he maybe strong and not book smart, but he knows that Hadriana hasn’t had the life Dumbledore has painted to the world.  Cedric sighs they have been trying to get her to open up to them all year and now that they are in unknown territory it seems her walls have finally started to crack, he joins Viktor in standing in front of their female companions in protection, both have their wands in hand.

The Dwarrow and Hobbit watch on sad for the youngster they just met.  Gandalf nods and backs off joining the others.  As they wait for the children to decide what they wish to do from here, a sound is heard, and they rush to meet it.  To Gandalf’s surprise and relief, it is Radagast the Brown.  While they are talking about what is happening, the Dwarrow are keeping an eye out for anything, and the rabbits hop over to Hari and nuzzle at her legs.  Their soft fur attracts her attention, and she sniffles but kneels down to pet them.  They nuzzle her face which pulls a giggle from her and makes the others smile at the joy they have pulled from her.  That joy is short lived though as a howl is heard where they are.

Bilbo nervously, “Is that a wolf? Are there wolves out here?”

Bofur pulls his mattock in front of him, “No that is not a wolf.”

At that moment a warg jumps out and attempts to tackle Bifur but Kili shoots it down and Dwalin finishes it off.  Another one jumps out and Thorin takes it down with his new sword.  Gandalf stalks over yelling at Thorin asking who he told, and then telling them they are being hunted.  Ori informs them that the ponies have ran off, they are figuring out what to do when Radagast offers to let them chase him.

            “I’ll draw them off.”

“These are Gundabad Wargs, they will out run you.”

Radagast looks at Gandalf dead serious, “These are Rhosgobel Rabbits I’d like to see them try.”

With that the crazy wizard leads the orcs and wargs off.  They howl and give chase.  The four wizarding children see no other choice at the moment besides following them to where they are heading.  With that the group takes off running to the edge of the forest, then across a plain covered in large boulders.  They are hiding when a warg smells them and stands on the boulder above them.  Thorin and Kili share a look, and Kili nods stepping forward, shots an arrow bringing them down, but doesn’t kill them Dwalin and Bifur finish the job.  Unfortunately, the noises they made drew the attention of the others, so they were running again.

Gandalf disappears on them.  The others are preparing to fight or already fighting. The kids are throwing spells at the approaching orcs and wargs.

Hari suddenly gets an idea, “Fleur I’m going to conjure up something and I need you to make it as big as possible.”

Fleur nods and gets ready as Hari casts, “Serpensortia!”, and a snake flies out in front of them.

Fleur casts, “Engorgio!”, causing the snake to get bigger.

Hari begins to hiss at the snake asking it to help them out by eating the orcs and wargs.  The Dwarrow watch fascinated at what is happening as the snake begins to take them down.  An orc tries to get the drop on Hari when Bifur comes to her side and takes it out, the others are already retreating to where Gandalf is.  Bifur grabs her hand and drags her over shoving her down the whole.  She stands up and glares at him but doesn’t say anything.

Bofur comforts his cousin and whispers, “The little lass has been mistreated, we don’t know how bad, but we know its bad enough that she has trust issues, give her time and let her friends help her.”

Bifur nods and grumbles at his cousin.  They all hear a horn as an orc falls into the hole, Thorin pulls the arrow out of it and spats out, “Elves.”  They all move forward down the tunnel, the four wizards and Bilbo all feel the magic of Rivendell and a sense of peace washes over them.  When they come out the other side, they see a beautiful city before them and learn it is the Last Homely House East of the Sea or Rivendell.  This leads into an argument between Thorin and Gandalf.

Hari sighs, “Yet again you prove that you do not truly care for those you claim to want to help.”

This stops Gandalf in his tracks, and he starts to say something when someone else speaks up.

Bombur, “Maybe just this once we can take advantage of being in civilization and get some food it has been hours since any of us have eaten.  I am also sure that the ladies would like a bath, and they are growing children, so they do need to eat as well.”

Now Bombur hardly says anything, but when he does it is reasonable, and they all agree to his suggestion, except for Hari who gives him an odd look because adults have never really been concerned about her eating before then her eyes narrow knowing it’s a trick.  So, the group makes their way to Rivendell, and they look around in wonder.  While they are waiting an elf comes down and begin to speak to Gandalf, they hear hooves approaching and shove Bilbo, Hari, Fleur, Cedric, and Viktor into the center of their group as they are surrounded by elves on horses.  Hari rolls her eyes already tired of this deception that the adults are showing them.  One of the elves dismounts and introduces himself to them, but Hari doesn’t pay any attention because she is still waiting for the other shoe to drop and the adults to show their real faces to them.  Soon they are being shown to another area where they will be staying while they are guests.
