Chapter 3
Lily! You need to get up now!"
A voice seemed to shout from around her, groaning as she rolled over and she felt a cold breeze envelope her body. She reaches blindly for her blanket after not finding it for a few minutes she opens one eye to see a silhouette of someone standing in front of her. A moderately fit young lady with golden blonde fair skin her 5'8 shadow towering over the bed some. Lily knew this was no other then Marlene McKinnon
"Mar please kindly buzz off "
Lily says in a growl like tone, there was a soft chuckle before a wave of water splashes against Lily's body. Gasping loudly she bolts right up seeing the smirking faces of Marlene and Sirius. They tried to not crack up as they looked between each other before catching the death glare Lily was giving them. Sirius and Marlene take two steps back as Lily as she whispers spells under her breath as she slams the bathroom door she can hear the distress coming from her bedroom.
Lily turns on the shower water waiting for it to heat up she walks back into her room. Once she opens the bedroom door she sees Sirius dancing uncontrollably she smirks victoriously as the Tarantallegra spell works Marlene is laughing hard at him and Lily raises an eyebrow as she picks up her uniform to slip it on after she shower
"You watch it, if you like to laugh I can make you laugh"
Lily threatens and Marlene holds her hands up in defense before Lily rolls her eyes chuckling softly
As she walks into the bathroom. She strips before stepping into the hot shower letting the water run down her body, she tilts her head back letting the water run through her hair smiling softly as she grabs her lavender and pomegranate shampoo letting the purple shampoo soak into her hair. Lily's mind start to wonder as she closes her eyes relaxing,
Who were those people last night ?
Why did they seem like they were waiting for her ?
She tried to shake the eerie feeling that they were waiting, hoping she would turn the corner and they could grab her. She chewed her lip as she grabbed the red and gold loofa and squirted some body wash that she stole from her sister onto it running it around her body. She can hear Marlene running around trying to reverse the spell I had just put on Sirius.
Lily finished up in the shower wrapping the towel around her body she plugged in her hair drayer before running a brush quickly through her red hair. She put the hair dryer to her roots before running it down as we continued to brush her hair making it look fluffy but cute. She concluded she was dry enough that she could put on her uniform, she slipped on the plaid skirt and the button down before putting on a simple cardigan with her house logo. Once content she walked out and Marlene and Sirius were packing up
They're book bags
"Alright now I'm ready and don't think I forgot about the water I will get you for that later "
Lily points and Marlene rolled her eyes flipping the bird as Sirius wrapped his arm around Marlene shoulders guiding her out the door. Lily picked up her book bag before racing out after them so they didn't forget about her while they were busy being a couple.

"Evans darling have you written the potions paper yet "
James comes up behind her, his voice hits her ears in a whisper. Lily turns to face him, they are found in a familiar situation nose to nose. His eyes piercing eyes Staring directly into her soul, she feels her heart start to beat fast in her chest. This is something new for her, it's not like she's never dated before there has been some flings her and there.
"Evens? Hello"
James snaps his fingers in front of her face sending her out of whatever thought bubble she trapped herself in
"Y-yes James I did what's it to you?"
She says getting her bearings back and he clicks his tongue suspiciously as he starts to look around her and inside her bag
"James you aren't going to find it on me I'm not that stupid "
Lily laughs gently and he turns his head to look at her again, the eyes staring back into hers. Being friends with James for so long you start to hear stories about him, the girls he's been with always mention his eyes. Like portals to the soul
"Now where is it Lily I really would like a passing mark"
James questions as he sits next to her and Lily shakes her head folding her arms over chest. She wasn't going to give in to him or her thoughts, she feels someone watching her. She looks around only seeing people talk In groups and some studying no one paying any attention to her or James. She continues to look around until an all too familiar robe catches her attention, one of the people from that group was sitting around her.
"Lilly are you okay?"
James asked, sounding concerned. The robed person got up and walked towards the door, Lily without thinking stands straight up and runs towards the door. As she passes the open doors of the great hall she sees nothing or anybody. She walks down the hall and there is still no sign of the robed person, she continues to walk the sounds of her steps echoed
"We've been waiting for you mudblood"
A booming voice scared her. She jumped looking around quickly, trying to get her wand out of her robes to defend herself. If someone uses a word like that they aren't friendly, she kept pointing her wand at empty air hoping to have a fighting chance.
"Your day will come mudblood"
There were footsteps surrounding her but they were unseen. She felt her heart beat so fast she was worried her heart was going to explode or come out of her chest. Then silence, absolute and crippling silence.
"What the hell evans if you didn't want me to copy you just say so I- what's wrong"
James came jogging down the hall out of breath, some quidditch player. A concerned and scared look appeared on her face and Lily shook her head quickly
"N-nothing James come on I'll get you that essay "
Lily says walking quickly to the dorms with a confused James trailing behind her.

What did that mean and why her ?

After a long week of nightmares and dealing with professors it’s safe to say Lily was exhausted. So when the first quidditch game of the year came around she didn’t want to go.
“Come on Lil you gotta come “
Sirius says as he sits next to her in the great hall at breakfast. Just barely glanced at him before laying her head back on the table. She hears two more body’s sitting at the table across from her.
“You look beautiful as always Lily “
James says and she tilts her head slightly facing James. He has his usual smirk and tilts his head down to get down to eye level with her.
“Go rot in hell James”
Lily says with a sickly sweet smile on her face. She hears Remus and Sirius laughing from around her and James rolls his eyes.
“Are you coming to the game this afternoon Lily?”
Remus says as he slides a cup of coffee her way and Sirius lifts up her head so she can drink. Lily smiles gratefully at Remus before gulping down more than half of the coffee while leaving the question up in the air. Remus in full “dad “ mode starts making a plate for her while she’s sipping on the coffee.
“No Remus I don’t think I’ll be able to make it “
Lily says before sticking her fork in the scrambled eggs taking the bite. James watches her carefully, studying her.
“Are you okay? You look tired”
He says finally after a few minutes, Lily nods, picking up the sweet roll breaking it apart. She doesn’t look him in the eyes as she spreads butter across one side.
“Lily look me in the eyes “
James says putting his pointer finger under her chin, lifting her head up.
“Are you okay? You look more then just Lily Evans tired”
She sighs. The mysterious people in the robes haven’t been around, but their voices haven’t left her thoughts.
She knows she should let the boys in, they would protect her. But who exactly would they protect her from? She didn’t know. Plus they would become OVER protective and Lily would never have privacy again.
“Yes James I’m okay. Just a bad start to term “
That’s not a lie. Remus scuffs and looks down at his plate moving some food around picking up a sausage link dragging it through syrup before taking a bite.
“It doesn’t help that Snivellus has been following your every move since the train”
Sirius says nonchalantly as he stares at the Slytherin table with disgust. It always amazed Lily how quickly he accepted her and trusted her. The comment about Snape following her peaked her interest
“Snape’s been following me? Why didn’t you tell me before!”
Lily slams her fork back into the table causing the boys to flinch. Sirius and Remus slide away from Lily leaving James to deal with it.
“We didn’t want you to worry, we told him to leave you alone “
Lily rolls her eyes and pushes the plate away from her standing up. She needed to see if Snape knew anything about the people who were following her.
She walked away from the table and over to the slytherin’s table. Trying very hard to ignore the staring and slurs coming from their mouths. Lily taps Snape on the shoulder gently, he turns a frown planted on his face
“Can we talk?”
She asks and he looks her up and down before turning his back to her. Sighing gently she taps him again
“Please Sev this is important “
Snape turns and rolls his eyes
“Go talk to your Gryffindor friends Lily”
Annoyed, she grabs his arm and pulls him away from the great hall. Dragging him down the hall before pushing him against the wall.
“You’ve been following me Sev?”
Lily says, folding her arms in front of her chest. Snape runs his fingers through the black curly waves he calls hair. Lily takes the time to study him, he’s gotten much taller over the summer. He looks more adult and a few strands of stubble litter his face.
“I’ve been making sure you're safe, I don’t trust those..”
He trails off as Lily gives him a stern look. It’s his turn to cross his arms over his chest watching her closely.
“Friends of your Lily, now why are we out here “
He asked looking up and down the hallway, everyone was at breakfast nobody was coming.
“Have you seen anybody else following me Sev?”
Lily asks looking down at her feet, she hated feeling weak, it gave the blood purest opportunity to get to her.
“No.. have you been getting followed Lily?”
She looks back up at Severus and his expression softens. Okay, so he either hasn't been following her enough, or the people in the hoods are that good.
Severus takes a step towards her, putting hands on her shoulders.
“Lily what’s going o-“
“Nothing, it’s nothing “
Lily shakes her head taking a step away from him. She’s no closer to the truth then she was yesterday, it was dumb of her to think that Sev would know who was following her.
“We’ll take it from here Snivellus”
Sirius says as he wraps a protective arm around her shoulder. Lily runs her fingers through her hair shaking her head
“Sev i- “
He just shakes his head with a look of disgust playing on his face.
“Ah the blood traitor has something to say”
I feel Sirius tenses up, before Lily can intervene
She hears James yell “ Incarcerous”
from down the hall his wand pointed at Severus. Ropes come from thin air binding Severus to keep him from reaching out or attacking.
Remus comes running shaking his head, he comes and stands next to Lily. Severus mumbles a spell to unbind himself before he shakes his head looking at her
“You chose great people to be around Lily..”
Sev says before walking away leaving Lily back to square one. Except now the boys are worried and I hope they didn’t hear a lot.
