Should I
James had loved Lily for years and she finally agreed to date him the first week of college. They dated for two years Lily thought they were going to get married. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. It was a petty fight a small disagreement over how much time he was spending with a female friend of James. Lily was simply jealous over her but a few days after the breakup she went to a party hoping to get back together only to catch him kissing said girl. They started dating quickly afterwards and Lily was heartbroken. Lily stayed at the college for two months found out she was pregnant so she at the quickest convince transferred to a community college. Lily was extremely nervous she’s been hiding this kid for four years.
“So, how's Lisa,” I asked.
“I don’t know we broke up a month after you left,” he said “I wanted to talk to you about that. I hated how that turned out. I was aware of how you were starting to feel with Lisa. But she just seemed like she needed a friend and thought she was just Loney after her broke up. After we broke up Lisa told me she liked me while we were at a party. I started dating her because I thought it would make you jealous. I didn’t think it would make you leave.”
“That to me just felt like you never actually loved me,” I said.
“Lily, I loved you I have always loved you. I never meant to hurt you I just wanted you back even now it’s been years and you’re the only one I’ve ever loved,” James said “you just up walked away and left me.”
“You broke my heart,” I said “You started dating someone else.”
“You still just up and left,” James said.
“Something extremely important came up,” I said “and I had to leave.”
“What,” he said rolling his eyes slightly.
“My son,” I said.
“You were pregnant,” He asked.
“Yes, I transferred to the community college because of it. If it wasn’t for Remus, I would have never made it through school. He use to watch Harry everyday while I went to school and work.”
“Do you love him,” he asked.
“As a friend,” I said.
“Do you mind If I ask you who’s Harry’s father,” He asked.
“I-I,” I murmured.
“If you're not ready to talk about it you don’t have to,” he asked.
“Maybe later,” I said giving him a kiss on the cheek.
“Mommy,” Harry said running over to me.
“Sorry I couldn’t stop him he really wanted you to put him to bed,” Remus said,
“Mommy please read me to sleep,” Harry said holding a bedtime story.
“Sure baby,” I said lifting him up and onto my hip.
Bringing him back to his bedroom and pulling the blanket up to his neck. Giving him a kiss on his forehead. I sat down on the bed reading him to sleep. I made my way back out to the Livingroom. I heard the band and Remus talking about the songs. I saw it Remus for once since his son was born, he was happy. I was happy for him. I walked up behind him as he sat on our thrift store couch throwing my arms around his neck.
“I’m so proud of you Remus,” I said kissing his head.
