Bored MOD Harry Potter
Master of Death opened his eyes just as his 13 years old self watched Ron get dragged via his leg, by Sirius Black in his animagus form toward the Whomping Willow and into the secret tunnel leading to the Shrieking Shack. Harry (now his immortal self) followed through with the original pacing. He and Hermione immobilised the tree and snuck into the tunnel. They walked quietly using the invisibility cloak toward the entrance of the rundown cottage. Harry dropped the invisibility cloak for Severus to find and entered the shack.
"Ron, are you alright?" He asked in false panic. Hermione rushed passed him to the redhead sat on the old chair with a bleeding leg and still holding onto his rat.
"Harry no! It's him, he's the dog, he's an animagus!" Cried Ron to his friend and pointed toward the back of Harry. The MOD turned round to see Sirius Black appear by the door. Harry inwardly smirked at his plan.
"It's you," he hissed at the ragged man.
"Harry, it's good to see you," said Sirius and he tried to go near hid godson.
"No! You'll have to get through us first if you want Harry," screamed Ron as he and Hermione barricaded their friend from his rumoured enemy.
"Ron, Hermione calm down," said Harry gently. His tone caused his friends to startle and turn confusedly at him.
"Harry he's going to try and kill you!" Cried Hermione. Sirius barked out a laugh at her.
"Me? Kill Harry? Why would I kill my own godson?" Sirius sneered offended.
"That's what I meant, if he truly wished me dead, I'd already be dead the second we entered the shack," Harry explained to his confused friends.
"But he...you betrayed Harry's parents to you-know-who!" Cried Ron. Hermione remained in front of Harry, shielding him with her body, unconvinced of this possible ruse.
"No. No, I was set up you see. True I was originally the secret keeper but we changed the person at the last minute! He betrayed them!" Sneered Sirius and pointed at Ron, more Pettigrew in his rat form but Harry wasn't meant to know this and his friends had no clue either. Hermione glared at Sirius, now convinced that the prisoner was mad. Ron in the other hand was both scared and lost.
"W-what? I didn't know Harry's parents...I'm 14!" Said the ginger in defence and stared at Harry.
"Not you," said Sirius in frustration. "Him, the rat! He's an animagus like me," explained the raggedy man. This time the three teenagers gazed at the rat intently.
"No, Scabbers had been in my family for years!" Said Ron in his pet's defence but Harry saw the doubt flash in the honey eyes.
"12 years give or take right? Extraordinarily long time for a rat to live," snarled Sirius.
"Prove it," said Harry. Hermione also considered the possibility and Ron was on the verge of giving in. At that moment, Lupin entered panting.
"Remus, please Remus," said Sirius as he saw his old friend, the prisoner now had a hopeful and desperate expression.
"Oh Padfoot," said Lupin and grabbed Sirius in an embrace. Siris held his friend back tightly.
"No! I trusted you!" Cried Hermione with betrayal. Ron also gasped and backed away from the duo but Harry stood his ground. Lupin and Sirius turned slowly toward the girl but Lupin didn't gaze guiltily at her just stared indifferently. "You've been helping him. He's a werewolf, that's why he's been off all those times," the girl said to her two friends. Harry never understood the point of revealing that. Was she hoping to add further accusations to the 'culprit'?
"No, Remus never did anything, anything at all!" yelled Sirius affronted. By now Harry was growing bored waiting for the person he yearned for to arrive.
"Well Hermione you really are the brightest witch of your generation. When did you figure it out?" Asked Lupin with false amazement.
"Since Professor Snape's lesson," replied Hermione with a haughty attitude. Harry wanted to laugh at the fake show of confidence she displayed, he knew fairly well that she was a moment away from pissing her pants but the brave expression on her face made him all the more fond of her.
"Snivellus trying to cause chaos even after all these years," sneered Sirius with disgust. Harry fought the urge to punch his godfather. Suddenly, the figure of the Potion's Master appeared in the doorway. He was too fast and his presence too unexpected for Remus to react in time. The werewolf was disarmed and Severus raised his wand menacingly at his two childhood tormentors.
"Well, well, looks like it's my lucky day," sneered Severus with a terrifying smirk. Harry saw his friends tense up but the relief was clear in their eyes. As hated as Snape was, he was a safety net. Ron and Hermione still viewed him as a Hogwarts Professor to be trusted with their lives. Harry on the other hand fought the urge to stroll across the room and push the Potion's Master against the wall for a snog. His husband back home won't appreciate it though. He already disapproved of Harry's many unnecessary adventures into different timelines and his habit of messing them up. "Well Lupin I must say I am pleased to see my predictions in regard to you, were true after all. The Headmaster owes me an apology."
Remus was panicking now and tried to back away a little from Severus's wand point. The werewolf was shielding Sirius's body. On the other hand, the Grim animagus was trying to manoeuvre around Moony to get to Severus. "Stay out of this Snivellus, it's none of your concern but I can see you're still the same. Can't see past that large end of your nose!" Hissed the madman. Honestly, Sirius was mad at this point no matter what defence he claimed. Harry was starting to lose his patience and wished to move on with the night.
"Sirius stop. Severus you must listen," Lupin begged. Severus wasn't having it, red sparks were emanating from his wand tip. Harry watched Hermione tense up and slowly reach for her wand. Ron was doing the same. Harry wasn't here to repeat the same things as his Original timeline. No, he was here out of boredom and a wish to see what would happen if he meddled at this point in time.
"Enough!" He said loudly with the sonorous spell in place causing everyone to freeze. "Incarcerous!" He said and waved his wand in the direction of Remus and Sirius. Conjured ropes wrapped the two together and effectively trapped them. Everyone stared at Harry in shock. Remus and Sirius had slight betrayal behind their shock, while Hermione and Ron couldn't believe he'd done this. Severus meanwhile snarled in pleasure as he realised Harry was on his side rather than Lupin's or even Sirius's. "Professor, they're bound. Will you please allow me to check something before you take them to the Headmaster?" asked Harry softly as he walked in front of Severus.
The Potion's Master growled in anger but Harry's pleading tone and bright eyes were weakening his resolve. The wand remained raised but Severus nodded his acceptance. Harry smiled thankfully and turned to Ron. "Ron please give me Scabbers," he said and the redhead nodded hesitantly. The second the pale hands loosened their grip on the rodent, it attempted to escape. Harry was faster with his seeker reflexes and caught it as it dropped to the floor. "Not so fast. Professor, please cast the anti-animagus spell on this rat. If what Lupin says is true, then this case just got a whole lot more complicated." Harry said pleadingly.
Snape furrowed his eyebrows but nodded once again. The immortal held the rat by its tail and dangled it in front of Snape. The Potion's Master silently cast the reverse spell. Harry felt Scabbers begin to transform. Hermione and Ron gasped as they watched with horror. Harry gritted his teeth at the sight of Pettigrew, while Severus grew confused. "So it's true. You're the actual Secret Keeper," accused Harry. Severus whipped his head in the direction of the teenager. But their moment was broken by a pitiful whimper coming from the newly returned Pettigrew.
"Oh Harry. Harry look at you," snivelled the true traitor. The immortal backed away in disgust at that. Before Peter could come any closer to the teen he was stunned and fell on the floor.
"I have to admit Potter, nothing is ever simple with you is it?" Severus said. Harry chuckled at the comment.
"Should've figured it out after my first two years at Hogwarts," replied Harry sarcastically. No one found the comment funny apparently so Harry shrugged.
"What do we do now?" Asked Ron obviously still distressed from what he witnessed. Severus glared at the three Marauders no doubt plotting some twisted fate for each.
"We only have around 10 minutes before Lupin transforms," said Harry regaining everyone's attention. "I suggest that Hermione and I aid Ron in moving out of the tunnel. Professor Snape if you don't mind levitating Pettigrew. And Sirius..." Harry gazed at his godfather with a pointed look, "if you promise to behave we'll allow you to walk on your own." The ex-prisoner nodded vigorously at the order.
"I swear on James and Lily I won't do anything out of order," he said. Harry nodded in approval at the oath and focused his attention on the rest to check for any objections.
"Any objections? No? Fantastic." He said when no one said anything, then he ended the binding spell to allow Lupin and Black movement . "Hermione help me get Ron so we can be the first to leave. Sirius and Pettigrew will be behind us followed by Professor Snape." Hermione hurried to Ron's side with Harry and they hoisted the redhead up with as much help from him as possible. Ron was injured but not incapacitated so he tried his best to support himself with the help of his friends as they began to walk through the tunnel. Sirius followed quietly alongside Pettigrew's still stunned and levitating body. Snape was last with his wand high up vigilantly.
By the time they reached the other end of the tunnel, with the Whomping willow, they heard a scream coming from behind them. Lupin was beginning to transform and it alarmed them enough to speed up. The students raised their wands and immobilised the tree before leaving the secret tunnel. Sirius was right behind them. Pettigrew's stunned body followed swiftly after and finally Snape exited. Once they all gathered outside the secret passage, they began their journey to the castle.
Slowly but surely they reached the front entrance of Hogwarts. "Stay put. Expecto Patronum," said Severus. Harry and his friends watched a beautiful silvery doe manifest from Severus's wand. "Go to the headmaster and alert him that we've caught Black and Peter Pettigrew," ordered the Potion's master. The doe bowed before trotting away.
"You can send messages through your patronus?" Asked Harry admiringly. Snape sneered and ignored him.
"Yes. Yes you can Harry. Can you already make a Patronus?" Replied Sirius enthusiastically. Harry glared at his godfather as a show of distrust.
"Please refrain from talking to me until your trial proves your innocence," said the immortal in an indignant tone. His friends also glared at Sirius and held onto Harry's shoulders for moral support. The Grim animagus was shocked but rather pleased by the show of loyalty by Harry's two best friends.
"Very well. I'll respect that," said Sirius. Just as things became quite again, three members of staff were rushing toward the small group. Albus was heading the group, followed by Minerva and Filius.
"Good heavens," exclaimed the Deputy. "Why are you three out of bed?" She asked as she stared in horror at the children. The three stared sheepishly at her, however they weren't feeling too guilty since it wasn't really their fault for getting dragged into this mess.
"We're sorry professor it was a coincidence," Hermione replied softly. Harry felt her squeeze his shoulder a little tighter. Their head of house glared but didn't comment further as the situation was far more dire than simple school rule breaking.
"Severus how in Merlin's name did this happen?" Asked Albus, still maintaining his calm demeanour, yet his tone was desperate.
"It is a long story headmaster, have you called the Aurors yet?" Severus responded, still holding Pettigrew upside down.
"Yes I have," said Albus. Sirius shook in fear a little but attempted to keep a brave face. The man who framed him was caught and this was a chance at redemption.
"Headmaster. I was not the secret keeper, Peter was and he framed me. I saw his picture in the Daily prophet with this boy's family so I escaped prison to capture him," rambled Sirius hoarsely. His eyes were portraying honesty and desperation. The professors' breathes hitched. "Please Headmaster. Even if you don't believe me at least allow me a trial."
"Alright please stop," said Albus as he lifted his hand. "Filius, please take Mr Weasley and Miss Granger to the infirmary," stated the Headmaster and the half-goblin hurried to obey. Ron and Hermione gave Harry an encouraging smile before leaving.
"What about Potter?" Asked Minerva in concern.
"As much as I would like to send Harry away, this situation affects him directly so I do not think it is wise or polite to exclude him from it," explained the Headmaster to his Deputy. Harry straightened himself up to appear more mature and serious. His godfather smiled at him hopefully. "We should all head to my office, as I expect there will be Aurors arriving there soon." With that the remaining group slowly went through corridors and up the stairs until they reached the gargoyle guarding the entrance of the Headmaster's office. "Cherry Pop," said Albus and the gargoyle moved to reveal the spiral staircase.
They went up in a uniform fashion and then settled inside the office as comfortably as possible. It was crowded a little but no one was bothered by it. Albus sat in his chair while Harry and Sirius took the guest seats. Minerva and Severus were standing on opposite ends with Pettigrew in the middle, now laying stunned on the floor. After a few moments of waiting the fireplace lit up with green flames. "Professor Dumbledore is it safe to come through?" Asked a gruff voice.
"Yes, please," replied Dumbledore and three Aurors came through the fire consecutively. There were two men and a woman, each adorning their Auror robes and armed with their wands. The three gasped as they saw Sirius's face and Pettigrew's body.
"What is happening here?" Asked the shorter of the two men. He had a very flat face with small features. He also had wild dark hair, very similar to the Potters'.
"As you can see, Sirius Black has been captured but we also discovered Peter Pettigrew being alive. This will have to be taken to the Wizengamot and the case will be reopened," said Dumbledore. The Aurors stared between their escaped prisoner and the man presumed to be dead.
"How did this happen?" Asked the woman. She was rather tall but nicely curvy with short blonde hair and wide blue eyes.
"It is time, please explained things from the beginning Sirius. Then I will be asking Harry and Severus for their version of events," said Dumbledore calmly. Everyone gazed at Sirius expectantly. The ex-prisoner shifted in his seat before beginning his tale, all the way back in October 1981. He didn't spare any details from the change in plan to handing Harry over to Hagrid and chasing Pettigrew in the street. Harry and the others listened with varying reactions and conclusions.
After Sirius completed his version of events, ending with his seating at his current place, Harry took over. Th immortal relayed most of what happened that year, obviously forgoing certain parts that revealed his cloak. He didn't lie about sneaking around as it was rather normal for most teenagers. He then described how Sirius dragged Ron into the passage of the Whomping Willow and how Hermione and him followed. Harry didn't spare any details of the night even revealing Lupin's werewolf status. It was harsh but necessary for Harry to be considered a reliable witness.
When the Aurors got the full story from all three parties, they also suggested questioning Hermione and Ron to corroborate the story even further before they bring the prisoners to the Ministry. "Since both are unregistered animagus, allow me to perform a spell that would bind them until you place them in suitable cuffs," suggested Dumbledore. The Aurors accepted graciously and the Headmaster pulled out his wand to trap Sirius and Peter into their human bodies. That was Harry's cue to exit his teenage body and travel back into his own timeline and universe. He did leave this version of Harry with a few bits of information but nothing major. It was more fun to watch them pave their own way.
A few seconds later, Harry landed back into his office in the future. He stretched his body and smiled as the memories of the new timeline were joining the others. The story unfolded for him and he chuckled at the changes in certain events. As the MOD walked across his office to reach into his fridge, the door to the office exploded. Harry stared with fear as he saw a dark figure enter. He gulped as he recognised who it was and he backed away a little further into the room. “Hello Love,” he greeted his husband as nonchalantly as possible.
“Don’t you Hello Love me Harry James Potter! Explain why I have a new set of memories right now!” Cried Severus as he glared at his idiotic husband.
“Uuhh…” stuttered Harry trying to find an excuse for his actions that wouldn’t land him into the sofa for the next decade. “I was experimenting with the scenario?” Was the weak excuse that popped into his head.
“Experimenting? You call your adventure an experiment? I should leave you to rot alone for a century!” Cried Severus even more unnerved by his husband’s response. “How you became master of Death is beyond me,” he growled as he folded his arms. Harry sighed in exasperation at his beloved and approached him carefully. Throughout their many centuries together, there was always conflict but not matter how much they argued, they couldn’t stop loving each other.
“You know I don’t do it to cause harm Love. I always like seeing how things might have turned out and every time I’m proven right,” whispered Harry as he held onto Severus and reach down to press his lips to the frown.
“Proven right in what regard?” Asked Severus curiously. Harry had never revealed his reasonings behind his spontaneous travels to the past, beside the boredom aspect.
“I’m proven right that no matter what, I’ll always choose you,” said Harry and grabbed Severus by the waist to easily capture his lips. The older gasped and melted into the kiss. Harry smirked as his husband wrapped his arms around Harry’s neck for support. “No matter who I like at first, I’ll always end up with you.” Whispered the immortal to his equally immortal mate. Severus moaned as Harry lifted him up and carried him to their bedroom. It was a reassurance to Severus that he’ll always end up here in this bed with his husband.
