The confusion of Wizards
The house of Black was teaming with warm food and happy faces. Amongst those where; the Weasley's, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Hermione Granger, and the Chosen One, also known as Neville Longbottom.
"I hear that Dumbledore's gonna have an announcement to make next time he comes over," said Ron quietly to Hermione and Neville as they brought the dishes to the sink.
"Yeah, maybe this time he'll actually talk to us, it's getting annoying having him ignore us as if we're not going to eventually join this war too," added Neville.
"God Neville, I get wanting answers, but I really don't think that Dumbledore's ignoring you, I doubt he'd ever do that," Hermione said frowning slightly.
Neville smiled slightly at his friend, she really did respect authority figures. Well all except Hermione, who had set professor Snape on fire in her first year. Which was awesome if you asked him.
"If you say so 'Mione," he said.
"Anyway, we should clear out soon, I hear that Fred and George have a new gadget that they're trying out and I wanna see what it is," said Ron with bright eyes. On that note the two boys sped up significantly, taking off as soon as they had finished leaving an exasperated Hermione behind, muttering 'boys' quietly under her breath as she followed the two of them.
The rest of the trio's day was spent rushing around joking around with the rest of the Weasleys, talking to Sirius and hoping that maybe, just maybe they'd be allowed to be present in the next Order meeting.
-----------
"So, you think that they'll let us into the meeting today?" asked Neville curiously.
"Probably not, but at least Fred and George invented those Extendable Ears, not to mention that I know how to tell whether or not a door in Imperturbed or not, so it'll be fine," responded Ginny, not really paying attention.
Neville, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Fred and George were all crammed into the room that Ron and Neville shared. This afternoon, Tonks, Mad eye moody, Kingsley Shackelbolt and Professor McGonagall had all shown up to the house.
The meeting hadn't happened yet but all the kids knew that it would happen after dinner, and that maybe Dumbledore might even show up. Neville definitely wanted to be part of it.
"Well, it's already time for dinner, so perhaps they'll let us know after that if we're lucky enough," said Hermione, "now come along, we can't just let everyone wait now, can we?"
They all went downstairs, all of them being as quiet as possible in order to not wake up Mrs. Black, Sirius' mother who's portrait had the annoying tendency to wake up and start shouting about the 'disgraces' that were aloud into her house.
When they got downstairs it all looked very cramped, the house and it's modest table was probably not made to have this many people crammed around it, though they had somehow made it work. In the end Sirius was smushed between Lupin and Tonks, who sat next to Hermione, who was next to Ginny and Ron who was across from Neville, Fred, George, Mad eye Moody, Kingsley, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley and Professor McGonagall who sat at the head of the rectangular table.Â
Dinner was surprisingly fun and halfway through Dumbledore even joined, seating himself on the opposite side of the table from McGonagall. Everyone was pretty happy, Sirius and Lupin were having a hushed conversation, the older members of the Order where discussing amongst themselves and the younger attendees were currently laughing as they asked Tonks to morph into all different types of faces.
At the end of dinner, after all of the dishes were cleared Dumbledore stood up, "I have urgent things to discuss with the Order," he said, Mrs. Weasley started to tell the children to get out of the room for the time being when Dumbledore stopped her sharply, "This has something to do with them to, I would appreciate it if you would let them stay please Molly."
Mrs. Weasley had at first looked like she was going to argue but after a short while decide not to, seating herself back at the table. The kids smiled at each other and Dumbledore started up again.
"As you know, I've been searching for our currently missing Harry Potter, who I still believe is alive, he started. A couple of the adults cringed, the kids looked slightly confused and Remus and Sirius both frowned, getting closer to each other slightly.
"Now, now, before you start calling me crazy, I would like to elaborate. The great book in my office that keep a record of all of the students in the school, excluding those who have graduated and... met unfortunate circumstances within the school that led them to no longer attending," that statement caused an awkward silence, "of course all in this room know that Harry Potter's name has not yet left the book, meaning that he is still alive, though we have not yet detected him."
Everybody nodded, this was one of the mysteries of Hogwarts, the fact that his name remained yet no one could find him. That had never happened in all of Hogwarts history, the school had always been able to find it's students no matter where they stayed. Not Harry though, he had become an absolute mystery, onw of the biggest in fifteen years.
"I believe that I have found an informant who was able to find him and now knows of his whereabouts. From this man I believe that we could find him and bring him to Hogwarts." At the end of this statement all chaos broke loose.
Adults argued frantically and children whispered and talked amoungst themselves, almost all of them trying to be the first to be heard.
"SILENCE!" Yelled Mad eye Moody, the entire room suddenly quietened and everyone turned to face him.Â
"Even if this is true Dumbledore, how do we know he's trustworthy?" He asked, he took a swig from his flask, "could just be a lying Deatheater tryin' ta get closer to the Order." Many of the adults nodded after the statement.
"Well," came a strange and oddly static voice from the shadowed hallway, "lying would be no fun in this situation my dear man! After all, I do this for my own entertainment too!"
They all turned toward s the hallway and were shocked by the tall man that stood there.Â
