Ch. 2 — The Paid Service
I opened my eyes to my friend, calling out my name and shaking my body. I quickly stood upright and held her shaking hands, which were still gripping my shoulder tightly.
"Hey, hey. What's wrong?? What happened Sam?"
I asked her even though I fully knew what had happened.
I was inside the novel I've been reading.
See... Before this whole thing happened I was just a simple, stressed med student. We we're gathering samples for our biology class in the ocean. The last thing I remember was a huge wave sweeping me and hitting my head on corals and then I backed out and woke up here.
Anyway, the Dokkaebi probably started the first scenario already, and true to my thoughts, there was a running clock that flashed on the tv.
[ 6:20 ]
My friend was explaining what the Dokkaebi said in a panic and even tho she didn't properly give me an explanation, It didn't matter because I didn't need it either way.
I looked at her and held her face in my hands.
"Hey hey... it'll be fine alright? Just— "
I sucked in a breath before continuing.
"Just— we'll just follow what the Dokkaebi said ok?"
I said to her as she starts tearing up. On the other hand many of my other classmates were in disbelief.
"WHAT THE HELL MAN! Ok it's not funny anymore y'all... stop whatever the fuck your pulling..."
And many others agreed, they started mumbling and chatting in hushed tones looking nervously. One classmate tried getting out of the room but couldn't. She angrily kicked the door but it still didn't budge. Everyone was now in a state of panic.
Suddenly the Dokkaebi comes back.
LISTEN! All of you better start moving NOW! This is getting quite boring alright? So how about it... You've already wasted enough time.
Everyone looks even more stressed out now and as the Dokkaebi disappears once more into thin air. Everyone is backing away from each other hudling into groups.
I looked around the room and saw that I didn't get isekaid into a characters body, it was more like my entire self was placed into the novel. The faces of my classmates and my close friends we're the same as in the real world. So I'd assume that this is the filler for my backstory.
While deep in thought I suddenly heard the scream of my classmate and I looked over to see, the known jackass, is clutching an exacto knife in his hand and pouncing at the people near him. Before anyone can act he's already killed 1 classmate. Everyone looks at him in horror and is backing away. One classmate even yells.
What the fuck? I guess that assholes in the real world also get dragged in here. Damn. I quickly dragged my friend to go off to the side.
"WHAT THE HELL KENT!! FUCKING PSYCHO"
He suddenly turns towards me and my friend, my heart races but I put it aside, and quickly grab her and without missing a beat he quickly jumps at us. I quickly enough push her away and some other classmates grab her and pull her away as Kent sets his eyes on me.
The classroom quickly erupts into chaos as the rest of Kent's gang start pouncing at a classmate, most of them are backing him up to kill me through.
Damn it! This is bad. Really bad.
I quickly sidestep from his attack quick enough to not get hurt. My hearts pounds in my ears and all I can hear is ringing. My lungs want to give out as he and his friends chase me around the classroom. We make quick maneuvering of the desks and chairs around us.
"WTF GUYS?!? JUST FUCKING STOP"
Yells one of our classmates urging them to stop.
"The thing said we have to kill and prove our value right?? Well I've never been fond of you! So what is everyone waiting for?! JUST DO IT!"
Kent shouts back to the classmate, pure adrenaline racing his veins.
I stare at him stunned but not for long because his friends are once again charging at me. I quickly try to run from him until I get backed up against a book shelf. I have no other place to run towards to and dont have an option left.
'Fuck! Am i really gonna die twice?? Shiiiitt.'
