Chapter Two
Hermione's P.O.V
As soon as the green flash was gone, I looked over towards the orb and saw that (Y/N) was gone.
"She's really gone." I said sadly.
"You should head to your common room Ms.Granger, and let your friends know what's going on." Dumbledore said. I nodded and left his office. I arrived at the Gryffindor common room where Harry, Ron, Ginny, Neville, and the twins were in the lounge area.
"Where have you been? Where's (Y/N)?" Ron asked.
"Give me one second." I replied. I went into the dormitory and towards my dresser. I pulled out the letters for the people in the common area. I go downstairs and give the corresponding letter to each person.
"What is this?" The twins asked in unison.
"A letter.... from (Y/N)." I said
"Why would (Y/N) write us a letter? Where is she?" Harry asked.
"Just read the letter. Everything is explained there." I answered him. They all open their letters and started to read them. Harry looks up from his letter with wide eyes. He got up and went right in front of me.
"SHE'S GONE?!" He yelled. I looked down and nodded.
"Why did she leave? Where did she go?" Ginny asked.
"I don't know specifically where she went but as stated in the letter, she was going to an alternate universe from ours. As to why. It's because she was really tired towards Malfoy's torment, so she wanted to leave where no one, especially Malfoy, would find her." I explained.
"Why did she have to leave when she had us?" Ron asked.
"It's because no matter how happy she was with us, Malfoy was always there to bring her down and it hurts her more since they have a past where they were close friends." I said
"Malfoy ruins everything." Neville said sadly.
"I know. But, as long as (Y/N) is happy, that's all that matters." I replied.
"It's getting late, so let's start going to bed. We have to wake up for classes in the morning." Ginny said. We all agree and start heading up to the dormitories.
Things will be so different now.
(Y/N)'s P.O.V
Darkness. That's all I see. Did it work?
"Hello? Are you okay? Do you need help?" I hear a muffled voice. I don't recognize who it is.
"Dad! Come here!" I hear the voice yell. Dad? Where am I?
"Hey! Are you alright?" I hear a deeper voice yell. I feel the person shaking my shoulders. I started opening my eyes, to be blinded by the sun. Once my vision comes back, I see an older man with a young boy looking down at me.
"Are you okay?" The man asked. I noticed that I was lying down on grass. I quickly sat up.
"Yeah. I'm fine. Quick question. Where am I and what is that date?" I asked.
"You're in Los Angeles, California and it's January 15th, 2020." The man said.
"Really?!" I asked with wide eyes.
"Are you lost? Do you need to call your parents?" The young boy asked.
"I don't have parents. They were murdered when I was five." I said with a frown.
"Do you have somewhere to stay?" The man asked.
"No. I don't. I don't know my way around here. I don't have a school either." I replied.
"What if you stay with us? I can enroll you in the high school my daughter is in. We have space in the garage, plus it has a bathroom too." The man said.
"Really? I wouldn't want to be a bother." I said
"There's no bother. I think you are the same age as my daughter, so I wouldn't want to leave you all alone." The man said.
"Thank you so much!" I said, standing up.
"Don't worry about it. Let me formally introduce ourselves. I'm Ray and this is my son, Carlos." Ray said.
"(Y/N) Moon. Nice to meet you." I replied.
"I like your accent! Where are you from?" Carlos asked. I smiled.
"Before going to my boarding school, I lived in Wiltshire, England. I went to a boarding school in Scotland since I was 10 years old." I answered.
"That's so cool." Carlos exclaims.
"Thanks." I said.
"Let me show you the garage. My daughter should be in there." Ray said. I nodded and followed him with my bag. We went into his backyard and into his garage. When I walked in, I saw a girl and three boys. Weird. He never mentioned three other boys.
"Julie! This is (Y/N). She is going to be staying with us for a while. (Y/N). This is my daughter, Julie." Ray introduced. We both waved at each other.
"I'll leave you two to talk." Ray said. He left with Carlos.
"Quick question. Why didn't your dad acknowledge the three guys in the room?" I asked while pointing at the guys. They all go wide-eyed.
"You can see them?!" Julie asked.
"Am I missing something here?" I asked. The boy with a leather jacket walked over towards me and was observing me a little too close to my face. I got uncomfortable and pushed his face away from mine.
"She touched me! She touched me!" The boy yelled while running towards the others.
"Can someone please explain to me why this is such a shocking thing?" I asked.
"Don't freak out. I am just going to say it. The guys are dead and they became ghosts. I was the only living person that was able to see them. I can't touch them, so we are just shocked that you can both see and touch them. By any chance....... are you a ghost too?" Julie said.
"Ghosts? You have ghosts in this world too?" I asked. I quickly realized what I just said and my eyes go wide.
"What do you mean by 'in this world'?" A boy in a pink hoodie asked. Shit. He caught on to that.
"Um. I think I'm going to go explore the city since I'm new here. See you around!" I said quickly and ran out of the garage to the front of their house. I looked around me and started to walk.
Time for a brand new start.
Hermione's P.O.V
It was the next day during Potions class. I looked to my right and saw an empty seat. It hasn't even been a full bloody day yet, but I miss her so much. Out of the corner of my left eye, I saw Malfoy staring right at me. This is all his fault. My best friend isn't here because of him. I finished my test so I went up to Professor Snape's desk and placed it down. I went back to my table, grabbed my books, and left the classroom. As I was walking down the hall to head out to the courtyard before my next class, I head footsteps rushing behind me.
"Granger!" I heard Malfoy yell. I sighed and stopped walking. I turned towards him as he caught up to me.
"What is it, Malfoy?" I asked.
"Where is that blood traitor Moon at?" He asked with a snarky tone.
"That is none of your bloody business. Why do you even care? Shouldn't you be glad that she's not here?" I said.
"Listen here, you filthy little mudblood. I don't care about her. Just tell me why she wasn't in Potions." He said angrily.
"I have nothing to say to you. All I will say, is that you won't have to worry about her ever again. She's gone for good." I said while turning around and walking away.
"Granger! Granger! You get back here!" I hear Malfoy yelling down the hallway but I don't stop. When I got to the courtyard, I saw Fred and George sitting in the grass. I walk over towards them and sat down.
"Hello there." They both said unison.
"Hi guys." I said sadly.
"Is there something wrong?" Fred asked.
"Everything is wrong. (Y/N) needing to leave is wrong. Malfoy having the audacity to ask why she wasn't in class is wrong. Dumbledore allowing her to travel to an alternate universe is wrong. Needing to give Malfoy the letter she wrote for him at some point is wrong. He doesn't deserve a letter from her since he is the reason why she left in the first place." I said frustratedly.
"Wait. (Y/N) wrote Malfoy a letter? Why would she give him the satisfaction of explaining to him what she decided to do? He seems like he does care since he asked about her. The only reason that he started to torment her was because she was put into Gryffindor and she started talking to all of us. Only because our family are known as blood-traitors to the Malfoys and you are a muggle-born witch. It's not fair to (Y/N)." George stated.
"I agree with you but unfortunately, that is the world we live in. Where it doesn't matter how long you've known someone or how close you were. If you're a pureblood, like (Y/N) and the Malfoys, you're only expected to associate yourself with pureblood wizards. Not the so called "blood traitors" that your family and now (Y/N) is labeled as. Especially, not with muggle-born wizards like me and so many others." I explained.
"Well hopefully, (Y/N) is okay and safe." Fred said.
"I hope so." I responded
Please be safe and hopefully I can see you again one day.
