Chapter One
Do you ever just want to disappear from a place so badly? To go to a completely different location? That is how I've felt these past six years at Hogwarts. All the torment and ridicule from someone I used to call my best friend. I just want to go away and forget everything.
"(Y/N)?.... (Y/N)!" A voice shouted. I jumped in surprise from the volume of the voice. I turned my head and saw Hermione staring at me.
"What?" I asked her.
"I've been trying to get your attention for a while now. What are you thinking about?" Hermione asked. I sighed.
"Same thing as always; wanting to disappear." I told her.
"You can't keep letting Malfoy get in your head." Hermione sighed.
"That's easy for you to say, you weren't childhood friends. You didn't go to him for comfort when your parents died. You weren't taken in by his family when you were alone. You have absolutely no relation in any way towards him." I told her with frustration in my voice. She looked at me with sympathy in her eyes.
"You're right, I'm sorry. But you have me now. You have Harry and Ron. You have those crazy twins. You don't need him anymore." She said in a comforting tone. Before I can say something in return, Dumbledore walked into the library where we were.
"Can I speak to you for a moment, Ms.Moon?" Dumbledore asked.
"Of course you can, sir." I said. I got up and followed him to the corridor.
"I think I found something for that favor you asked of me at the start of the year." He told me. My eyes widened.
"Really?! What is it?" I asked.
"Before I tell you, I need to ask one last time. Are you sure about this? You don't know what could happen. You could lose your ability to cast spells." He warned. I nodded eagerly.
"I am 100% sure. I don't care if I can cast spells or not. I just want to leave somewhere that nobody can find me." I said confidently.
"Okay. Come to my office after dinner. If you want, you can bring one person to see you off." Dumbledore explained.
"Thank you so much, professor. I am so grateful." I told him. He nods at me and I go back into the library. I head over towards Hermione.
"Mione. I have something to tell you." I said as I sat down.
"What is it?" She asked.
"I'm leaving today, after dinner." I told her. She looked at me in shock.
"What do you mean that you're leaving?" She asked.
"I mean I'm leaving. For good. I asked Dumbledore if there was any way to travel to like a parallel universe because I just need to go to a place that is completely new. He just told me that he found a way. I've already accepted the offer and I want you to be the one to be there when I leave." I explained to her.
"You're going to another universe? Are you crazy?!" She asked me.
"I am not crazy. I am tired. I want to start new and fresh. To meet new people. Maybe meet a guy. I just want to get away where nobody can look for me. I'm that desperate." I told her.
"I see that there is no convincing you otherwise. I'm going to miss you so much." Hermione said while hugging me. I hug her back.
"I'm going to miss you too. I'm going to miss all of my friends, but this is something I need to do." I tell her, breaking the hug.
"Are you going to take anything?" Hermione asked.
"I'm going to take my wand, for obvious reasons. A bag filled with my clothes, and my photo album I have with pictures of you guys and my parents." I told her.
"Let's head to dinner then." Hermione said.
"Wait. Can we go to our dorm quickly?" I asked her.
"Why?" She responded.
"I need to give you something." I said. She nodded and we went towards the Gryffindor common room. We went up to the girls' dormitory. I went to my dresser and opened it. I pulled out eight letters in envelopes. I hand them to Hermione.
"What are these?" She asked, going through the stack of letters.
"They are letters for everyone after I leave. I need you to give them to everyone. They explain everything in them so they know what is going on. I didn't want to tell them in person, so I wrote letters." I explained. Hermione paused at a certain letter. She looked up at me with wide eyes.
"Malfoy? Why would you write Malfoy a letter?" She asked. I sighed and looked down.
"That is a letter that you can give whenever you want to. I'm not saying he will, but if he asks for me, that's when you can give it to him." I told her.
"Alright. I'll give them to everyone once you have left." Hermione said, putting the letters in her dresser.
"Thank you Mione. Let's go to the Great Hall before the others get suspicious." I told her. She nods and we head out of the dormitory. We get to the Great Hall doors and go inside. We head over to the Gryffindor table, where all of our friends were already seated and eating. I sat down next to Harry while Hermione sat down on the other side of the table and sat down next to Ron.
"Where have you two been?" Ron asked.
*Library." Hermione answered.
"Hey (Y/N). Did you study for the Potions exam tomorrow?" Harry asked me. Hermione and I both looked at each other.
"What do you think we were doing in the library?" I said to him. He chuckled.
"When Ron and I go to the library, it's most certainly not to study." Harry said to me.
"We can tell by the grades you two get on exams." Hermione said. I almost spit out my drink.
" Ha ha. Very funny." Ron said sarcastically.
"Terribly funny. Really witty." Harry mocked. We all broke out laughing. When we stopped, Ron starts to glare at something behind me.
"Why does Malfoy keep staring over here? It's getting very annoying." Ron says. Harry turns around to look, but I grab his arm and turn him back around.
"Don't give him any attention. That is exactly what he wants." I told him. He nods and goes back to eating. Dinner was soon over. While our friends headed back to the common room, Hermione and I started to head towards the entrance of Dumbledore's office. While we were walking, I cast the Accio spell to summon my bag that has all of the things that I am taking. Dumbledore was waiting outside of the entrance when we arrived.
"I see you chose Ms.Granger to accompany you." Dumbledore said.
"Of course, sir. She's my best friend." I replied.
"Alright. Let us head up to my office." Dumbledore said. We both nod and follow behind Dumbledore. Once we get into his office, we see a crystal orb on a podium.
"All you need to do is stand right behind the orb. The orb will sense if you truly have the desire to go to an alternate universe. If you have that desire, the orb will glow green. Then you have to try and imagine where you want to go. You will then touch the orb with the world in mind. It will happen in an instant so start saying your goodbyes now." Dumbledore explained. I nodded, turned to my left, and hugged Hermione.
"Take care of Harry and Ron for me. Make sure to keep them out of trouble as much as you can." I told her. She chuckled.
"I'll try. Trouble just seems to follow them. I'm really going to miss you. But as long as you're happy, I'll support you all the way." She said.
"I'll miss you too. But for now, this will be the best for me." I answered. I break the hug and walk over towards the orb. The moment I get behind the orb, it turns an electric green.
"I wish you luck, Ms.Moon. It's been a pleasure to have known you while you were attending Hogwarts. All you have to do now, is think about where you want to go and then touch the orb." Dumbledore explained. I took in a deep breath and thought,
"I want to go to a place completely new and different."
I put my hand on the orb. A bright green flash broke out through the entire room and then my vision goes black.
