Part 2
Harry walked in to the room and felt fear make its way up his throat. He was trying very hard not to vomit.
Parvati squeezed his hand slightly, "You're going to be fine; I promise I won't let you fall on your face." She whispered through her smile.
That startled a laugh out of Harry and he thanked her under his breath.
As they reached the middle of the dance floor, Harry's nausea spiked. He was sure his entire face was green and he could feel his hands shaking terribly. Parvati turned to him and reminded him firmly to put his hand on her waist. Once he got over the shock of that, he lifted his eyes and as he happened to look over her shoulder, he noticed a pair of silver eyes looking straight at him. Draco gave him the smallest nod and a wink. He had been training Harry how to do this for weeks and the Slytherin had told him a number of times, that he better not stuff it up. He hadn't spent all that effort to watch the brunette step on his partner's toes or trip over his own feet. Harry swallowed hard, looked back at Parvati and smiled nervously. "I can do this" he said to himself.
When the music started, Parvati looked pleasantly surprised with how well Harry begun to lead her around. He was still clearly nervous, but he was making the right moves and moving in the right direction, almost perfectly in time.
Once the Champions' dance was finished and others joined the floor, Harry led Parvati over to Ron and Padma. Upon seeing them, Padma immediately began to compliment Harry on his dancing and gushed over how fantastic her sister had looked on the arm of the Gryffindor champion - Harry felt his cheeks redden but smiled at his date's twin. The girls then left to go powder their noses, leaving Harry with Ron.
"What's up with you?"
"Did you see who Hermione's here with?"
"Well yeah... I mean, they've been studying together in the library, I guess it makes sense since she seems to be the only girl he's spent any time with recently."
"What do you mean they've been studying together?" Ron asked, his voice going higher than normal.
Harry looked at him like he was crazy, "I thought you knew..."
" I certainly did not!"
"What didn't you do Weasel? Have enough self respect to find proper dress robes?" Came a silky voice from behind Harry.
The Gryffindor did his absolute very best not to smile. He looked over his shoulder at Draco and innocently said "looking good Malfoy" before turning back to face Ron. The red head was looking at Harry like he had three heads, but Harry just winked. After a split second, where Harry knew the Slytherin was trying to get his bearings, the reply came, "Well of course I do, Potter. I always look good." He then heard Draco and his lackeys leave them.
"What the bloody fuck was that?!" Ron said rather loudly.
Harry laughed, "it got them to leave didn't it?"
Ron spluttered but at that moment the Patil twins returned and Harry accompanied Parvati back to the dance floor - waving to his friend as he left.
