Part 3
Harry rolled his eyes at himself. He couldn’t believe he was standing here - pressed right up against the wall, trying to go completely unseen by the, what seemed like, endless supply of students walking past his little hideout. He knew he should have grabbed his invisibility cloak but there’s wasn’t time!
Suddenly he saw the white blond head he’d been looking for. He threw the scrunched up bit of parchment he had in his hand straight at the back of Draco's head. He knew he would pay for it later but he didn’t care – there wasn’t time!
Luckily Draco turned and noticed him straight away. He frowned but turned to his friends and muttered something Harry couldn’t hear, before turning around and casually slipping into the little nook with Harry.
“What - ”
“Shh!” Harry cut him off with a hand over his mouth. The Slytherin narrowed his eyes. The brunette quickly removed his hand and mouthed ‘sorry’ but put a finger up to tell Draco to wait a second.
Once the students in the hall had moved on, Draco began again. “What are you doing? Anyone could have seen you.”
“I know! I’m sorry but I needed to see you.”
The blonds eyes softened, before suddenly switching to panic “Why? What’s wrong?! Is Sirius okay? Is my... is my mum okay?”
Harry’s own eyes widened, “They’re both fine, I promise! No, Merlin, sorry – everyone is fine.” He hurried to say.
Draco sagged against the wall across from Harry – barely arms length away in their tiny alcove. “Okay. Good. That’s good. What was so urgent you had to throw parchment at me in the middle of a crowded hallway? It couldn’t have waited until tonight?”
“I have to hold my breath for an hour underwater.”
Draco blinked at him... “What?”
Harry smirked, “eloquent.”
“Shut it, Potter. Explain before I’m late for class.”
Harry’s smile dropped, “The egg. I solved it... Well I mean Cedric helped.”
“I’ve told you not to speak that name.” The Slytherin said through gritted teeth.
Harry ignored him, like usual. “I have to hold my breath for an hour in the Black Lake to look for something”.
Draco looked at him carefully, “Okay... and...”
Harry mimicked him “okay... and... that’s all you have to say?! I have to hold my breath FOR AN HOUR DRACO! How the fuck are you not getting this?”
Draco laughed then, and it took everything in Harry not to let the panic seep out of him with the sound. “Harry, babe, that’s easy! I’ll get you some gillyweed from Sev’s storeroom. Honestly – it’s nothing!”
Harry relaxed at his boyfriend’s quick and simple solution. Draco didn’t even hesitate to think that this wouldn’t work and that was enough for Harry.
“He’d let you?”
“Of course he would, he knows how much I care about you.” Draco grinned at the brunette, “he hates you but he loves me so he’ll give it to me!”
Harry rolled his eyes but said, sincerely “Thanks! I feel much better now.”
“Of course! It would, honestly, be really embarrassing to watch you drown in the Black Lake.”
“Oh fuck off.” Harry said, closing the distance between them and leaning in to kiss Draco quickly on the lips.
“I don’t think you really want me to...”
“Oh, shut up...” and Harry leaned in to kiss him again.
After just a few seconds, Draco grudgingly pushed his Gryffindor away. “I need to get to class”.
“Yeah, sorry. Thanks again for your help.”
Draco smiled at him again, “anytime - you know that.” Another chaste kiss and Draco was walking away with Harry staring dreamily after him.
“What the bloody fuck was that?!”
The smile on Harry’s face dropped instantly and he turned very slowly to see Ginny Weasley walking toward him from the opposite direction that Draco just went.
Harry swallowed hard, “I can explain.”
