The Q word is a curse.
~The day prior~
"911 what's your emergency?" Maddie spoke calmly through the phone.
"Yes, um Hi I know this is gonna sound crazy but... a giant rock or- or a meteor or... a comet? I don't really know the terminology I can't exactly ask a rock but um a meteor or something just hit the warehouse on 5th?" The voice on the other line was a bit sluggish. The man almost sounded drunk or tired, making them slur a bit.
"I'm sorry, did you say a meteor?" Maddie asked skeptically, typing in the details while the person rang back a long drawn out 'mhm'. She sat back and muted her microphone, looking over to Sue "Some guy says a meteor hit the warehouse on 5th, and he sounds drunk."
Sue looked at her with a confused expression "A meteor?? Surely we'd have more calls about it it's hard to miss that... but go ahead and send out a unit."
Maddie shrugged, before sending out the 118.
~Roughly 10 minutes before the meteor~
Athena was walking into the station, she got off early and wanted to stop by and see Bobby on his 24 hour shift.
The station was alot more tame than usual, Most of the 118 were gathered in the loft, half of them reading books. Buck and Eddie were playing some random video game she had no idea the name of, and Bobby was in the kitchen.
"Hey 'Thena, what are you doing here?" Hen questioned, looking up from her book, causing the others to notice her presence.
"Just came to see Bobby, got off early, nothing was going on at work today." Athena said as she was walking towards the kitchen.
They all turned their attention back to their respective time killers as Bobby and Athena shared a kiss. "Yeah, been pretty quiet at the station today?" Bobby questioned and when everyone including Eddie turned to look at him he mouthed a silent 'o'.
"Okay I realize what I just said.. but surely it doesn't count, right? I wasn't even talking about anything here." Oh how wrong Bobby was.
The alarm rung loudly as everyone groaned, setting their stuff down "You've doomed us all, thanks cap." Hen stated sarcastically.
"Oh come on I wasn't even talking about anything here" Bobby said with an exasperated sigh, not even talking directly to Hen, more of a complaint to God.

As they were pulling up to the warehouse, there was noone around, usually you'd see people panicking or reporters or something. There was nothing, it was eerily quiet, the only noise was Siren's and the crackling of a large fire.
It was hard to make out for sure but there was a harsh smell to the smoke rising in the building, the warehouse was a printing warehouse. It didn't make much sense for the smell to be Abnormal besides maybe steel and printer components there was nothing to produce an Abnormal smell. Despite the confusion it didnt seem important so it went without mention but not without notice.
A string of requests from the captain was followed by the actions of the 118 as they rushed into the building. The fire was easy to get put out, surprisingly it hadn't spread much. The warehouse was mostly metal so besides the stacks of paper in a general area there wasn't much fuel to sustain fire long, while it was hot it didn't last.
Though the fire was the least of their worries... a meteor probably the size of a baseball had put a hole through the warehouse and the floor. The impacting digging a few feet through the concrete and into the dirt below, leaving roughly a 5 foot hole in the ground.
The smell that noone mentioned earlier seemed to have intensified the closer to the hole they got.
"Huh, if I had a nickel for everytime we've responded to a call caused by a meteor." Chimney said with a small chuckle, looking down the hole at the vaguely illuminated rock. When he went to look up at the rest of his team they weren't there, a bit of panic settling in.
His panic was deepened when his head started to feel like it was floating and his body was trying to ground it. His vision blurred, his mind struggling to differentiate up from down as he fell backwards. He landed on something vaguely 'human shaped' he thought before everything in his mind went blank.
