Dreams
To Draco, the waiting was agonizing. When he got tired of pacing nervously around the small white room, he sat down beside Ron, and started to relive his memories.
Well, it wasn't the best thing he could do. Replaying the scenes when his curse had hit his father or when Harry floated in the air, his body twitching in pain-
He started to feel even more down in the dumps. He leaned back in the uncomfortable hospital chair, stretched his legs and looked at the floor desperately. As if waiting for it to miraculously help him to forget.
He shut his eyes and unconsciously replayed the moment in his head when Harry had come round. He looked at Draco, but Draco couldn't be sure if he really saw him. Or recognized him.
He wondered whether Harry would remember them when he'd wake up? Or will those kisses remain bittersweet memories in Draco's head?
Not being able to sit in one spot and worrying, Ginny abruptly stood up.
"I go for a walk. Send me a Patronus if we can go on to Harry!" she said and with that se left the small room.
"How much d'you reckon we have to wait?" Ron asked rather impatiently. This long waiting wasn't good for either of them.
Hermione shrugged and turned to Draco.
"Listen. We need to talk."
"Do we?"
"Yes. I know you want to see Harry. And I'm not forbidding you to do so. It's just-"
Hermione trailed off nervously.
"Look. We don't know what he remembers and what he doesn't. Just... Just be careful!" she said wiping a single tear away, hoping that the blond boy didn't notice.
Draco only nodded in response because he couldn't say anything. He too was thinking about Harry bot remembering him. But there was hope, wasn't there?
Hope. Again. Draco felt disgusted as the word and a picture of Harry and him talking and laughing on the boy's hospital bed settled itself in his mind.

As the Sun faded and the evening stalked into the room, the white door opened. The tall Healer who'd been examining Harry stepped outside and smiled at the three waiting impatiently. Ginny still hadn't come back, wherever she'd gone to.
"Sorry, it took so long. But he had an extremely vast amount of dark magic in his system."
"Is he okay now?" Hermione asked, tears already leaking from her eyes.
"He will be. But he's very weak. He need to rest. This shield was incredibly strong, full of dark magic. It caused minor demages in his mind as well in his body." Hermione and Draco shared a look. "But you're close to him. I'm sure there will be no problem if he meet you."
With that he stepped aside and indicated them to go in. Ron hurried along, while Hermione stopped to cast a Patronus to message Ginny. Just then she saw the frightened looking Draco indecisively standing half way between the door and herself.
"Come on, Draco! He's alright!"
"Yeah. But what if won't remember me?"
Hermione sighed and put a reassurring hand on the boy's shoulder. "Then you tell him about... everything."
Draco nodded and gathered all his courage before stepping in the bright, lamp lit room.
There only was a single bed in the corner, a rather big bedside table beside it, full of potions, strange magical remedies Draco didn't even had an idea what they were, but there lay Harry's wand and glasses.
On the bed there was a large mound of blankets, a few raven hair peeking out under it.
Draco smiled inwardly as they all sat down on the chairs that surrounded the bed.
"Harry!" Hermione whispered carefully.
The mound slowly moved, until a pair of emerald green eyes were visible alongside the now fully showing black nest of hair.
"Harry!" Ron shoted and stood up to hug his friend.
Harry mumbled incoherently in his arms, then looked at the other two. When he caught eye of Hermione, his eyes twinkled happily, assuming that he was smiling under the blanket. But then his eyes flicked to the blonde boy sitting at his feet, and the smile faded immediately.
At first he seemed as if he was blushing, but then he looked down right frightened. He looked back at Ron and Hermione, eyeing them suspiciously.
"Are you alive?" he managed to ask finally.
"What?"
Harry looked at them frightened before he glanced at Draco again. Now he looked at the blonde longer, his cheekscreddening slightly before closing his eyes.
"I... I go outside." Draco whispered to Hermione holding back tears.
The girl nodded.
"Harry!" she called when the door silently closed behind Draco. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to bring the boy in.
Harry opened his eyes, turned his gaze to where Draco had been sitting, but when he couldn't see him, he looked even more confused and... maybe disappointed?
"He disappeared!" he gasped.
Ron and Hermione looked at each other concerned.
"He disappeared" Harry said again "but you didn't."
"Harry, are you alright?"
"Yeah. Yeah, I am. I just... I thought I saw someone-"
"Well, there indeed was somebody... but he's gone now."
"Gone? What do you mean 'he's gone'? He's not-"
"No, he's not dead! Merlin! He just-"
"Anyway, how are you feeling? Can you remember anything?" Ron asked abruptly.
"Well. I remember being on a green field. There was somebody with me... But that couldn't be-" Harry trailed off thinking hard, but when he couldn't find anything racional, he shrugged and continued. "So I was standing in that field when I felt something hot. As if I was burning. Then... I thought I was dead. But I had a dream."
"What dream?"
"Well, it wasn't one dream. A lot of them. First I remember... er-"
"You remember...?"
"Er, kissing."
"Kissing with who?" Hermione asked a bit excitedly as she and Ron shared a look.
"You won't like it. But it was just a dream, right? I must've been hit by a strong curse, 'cause I saw myself... I mean no, I didn't see. I was kissing Malfoy."
Harry looked at his two friends. But instead of being disgusted or just laughing at his strange dream, the two looked so careworn but somehow relieved.
"Hey, it was just a dream-"
But in that exact moment the door burst open and Ginny Weasley stepped in.
"Harry!" she shouted relieved before running at his bed and throwing her arms around him. "You're awake! How are you?"
"I don't know. I don't feel anything bad. But I had theese dreams and now I think I saw something that I definitely shouldn't have seen-"
"What are you talking about?"
But before Harry could answer, Hermione vawed her hand at Ginny to silence her and turned to Harry.
"You said you had more dreams not just the one you told us. What were they about?"
"You. I saw you guys. At home. At the Ministry. But most of the times Malfoy was with you. Why do you think I was dreaming of Malfoy so much? Maybe he was the one who cursed me?"
The others didn't dare to say a word. They didn't know how to tell Harry the truth.
"But why would I dream about him, if he cursed me? I swear after we kissed, I pecked him on the cheek when you were at the Minister's office!"
"Harry."
"It was quite a strange dream, actually. You guys were looking for a Time Tuner. I kept messaging you through a book."
"Harry!"
"What?"
"It wasn't a dream. Neither the others."
"Huh?"
