Quidditch Games
Since last month a lot has happened. Well not really actually. Every Friday, instead of doing patrol, James and Regulus met to find a way to link their bracelet. They hadn’t found anything on the linking part yet but the colour changing on the beads when they touched it was working. It wasn’t something incredible but it was a step in the process. They also tried to find how they would dress for the Halloween party. Regulus had proposed Gnomeo and Juliet, Laurie and Amy or Eugene and Rapunzel. And James had proposed, Gwen Stacy and Spiderman, Flash Mcqueen and Sally or Anakin and Padme. In the end they agreed on Gnomeo and Juliet, they also said that they would tell Peter after the game that if he didn’t have a costume yet he could be the flamingo.
Last week they went back to Hogsmeade and bought everything they needed for today’s party and Regulus had found a bracelet for Kreacher.
Anyway today was the first Quidditch match of the season: Gryffindor against Ravenclaw.
As always Regulus was sitting next to Barty and Evan. The game had not started yet but Regulus had already gone to the Gryffindor lockers before all the players arrived. Only Lyra and James were there when he went. He reminded Lyra about all the Ravenclaw seeker’s weaknesses and strengths. Before leaving he gave a quick good luck kiss to James which made Lyra laugh. She already knew. It was not like they were very discreet on Thursday’s practices.
The game was about to start. The players were going up on their brooms. The snitch and the bludgers had been let out already. Ms. Hootch was about to throw the Quaffle in the air. She blew her whistle which meant the game began.
James caught the quaffle and made his way to the Ravenclaw goals. He threw and the ball got in. The Ravenclaw keeper didn’t stop the ball. It was 10-0 for Gryffindor.
It’s been 30 minutes since the game started. Gryffindor was leading 120-70. Regulus couldn’t help himself from looking at James. His Quidditch uniform was, we could say, flattering his body.
“Be careful, Reggie boy, you are drooling.”
“Shut up, Barty” said Regulus while passing his hand on the corner of his mouth.
“Well we can’t really blame you Regulus. James looks so fucking hot in this outfit and with this sweat dripping on his muscle. Plus his being all bossy right now. I get what you should be feeling Reg.”
“You are right Evan. But only I get to talk about my boyfriend this way.”
“The young gryffindor seeker seems to have seen the golden snitch. She’s diving in. Who knew we could have another seeker using Black signature move.”
Regulus had forgotten to look out for Lyra. But she was incredible right now. She was following the snitch and the Ravenclaw’s seeker was far behind. She was using everything Regulus had taught her. While she was chasing the ball, Marlene and Sirius were throwing the Bludgers in the Ravenclaw seeker’s way to be sure they wouldn't catch up on Lyra. At the same time, James was still scoring goals because to secure the win they would need one hundred more points in case the ravenclaw seeker caught the snitch and James couldn’t lose this game.
“And the Gryffindor seeker caught the snitch. Gryffindor wins 290-70”
Regulus ran down the stairs as fast as he could to get on the field. All the players had landed on the floor. Remus was also going to meet his boyfriend. As they got closer they could hear the chants : “ Lyra! Lyra! Lyra!”. Regulus and James’ eyes locked together. James stepped away from the crowd and ran to his boyfriend. When they were close enough to one another Regulus cupped James’ cheek and brought his lips to his. They couldn’t hear anything around them. They were in their own world. James grabbed Regulus by the waist and spined him in the air while they were still kissing. When James put Regulus back down the world around them was silent. Silent except for one person.
“Prongs, did you just kiss my baby brother in front of the entire school? Are you fucking out of your mind. Why would you do that? ”
“Actually Sirius, I kissed him first.”
“You shut up. James answer.”
“Well you see, what I feel for Regulus isn’t just a crush anymore. Uhm how can I say this?”
“We are dating, Sirius. We’ve been together since september.”
“I thought you hated James.”
“Well turns out I don’t. I like him quite a lot actually.” said Regulus while leaning to kiss James again. James melted in the gentle touch like he always did. At this moment, what looked like anger in Sirius’ eyes a moment before had been replaced by a soft look. Remus had also joined his side a second before.
“Okay you two are not just fucking around right. It’s more.”
“Yes it is Pads. I love Regulus with all my heart.” Regulus' jaw dropped on the floor. James had never told him he loved him. James turned to face Regulus.
“I really love you Regulus. You don't have to say it back.” Regulus was crying happy tears and kissed James once again.
“Oh my god they are such cuties. I think I'm going to cry.”
“Don't you think you're overreacting a bit much Lily.”
“No, I'm not. Starchaser is finally happening.”
“What the fuck is starchaser.”
“Oh uhm Lily and Remus wanted a name for us two so they could talk about it without being noticed.”
“Star is Regulus and chaser James in case you didn’t catch.”
“I didn’t even know about this. Well Regulus and friends you can join the other and go to the tower while we shower. If you want to go change first you can. I’m sure Dorcas knows the password.”
James, Sirius and Marlene kissed their respective partner before going to clean themselves.

When they got back to the tower, the party was already blasting. One of Sirius and James’ favourite songs was playing so they hurried and jumped on the table. They were now singing at the top of their lungs to Paper rings. They could feel the looks of their boyfriends on them but they weren’t able to hear what they were saying. The chorus was coming and they were ready to sing it to the boys in front of them.
“Kiss me once ‘cause you know I had a long night”
“Kiss me twice ‘cause it’s gonna be alright”
“Three time ‘cause i’ve waited my whole life”
“ONE TWO ONE TWO THREE FOUR”
“I like shiny things but I’d marry you with paper rings uh huh that’s right, darling your the one I want”
“And i hate accident except when we went from friends to this uh huh that’s right, darling your the one I want”
“In paper rings,”
“In picture frames,”
“In dirty dreams” said James winking at Regulus and blowing him a kiss which made Regulus blush and Sirius slapped him.
At the end of the song they went to grab a drink before sitting on the floor in front of their boyfriends.
“I want to know everything about you two. How long has this been going on?”
“Well uhm I’ve had a crush on Regulus since I was twelve.”
“Wait, you've fancied me since we met. But I was horrible to you at this time. ”
“Well I’ll love you no matter how mean you were to me. And let’s say I kind of like when you’re being mean to me.”
“Really??”
“Yeah might sound weird but it’s true.”
“Okay now we have James backstory let's here Regulus’”
“Well the story is not that long. I’ve developed a crush on James this summer after moving in. And I somehow confessed my feelings when I was drunk. But I confessed my feelings sober in the middle of September.”
“Oh and I guess that's when James kissed you for the first time.”
“Uhm actually I kissed him and asked him to be my boyfriend after.”
“When was that?”
“When I said I was staying to watch the Quidditch selection.”
