Friendships
Regulus had jumped away from James when he heard the wall move. He didn’t want any of the Slytherin to know he was kissing James.
“Thank Merlin’s fuck it’s only you Dorcas.” Regulus was so relieved when he saw that it was Dorcas who saw them kiss. He hadn’t told them yet that he had kissed James last night. But well, there was no better time than the present to tell them.
“YOU KISSED JAMES MOTHER FUCKING POTTER !!!!!”
“Quiet down Dorcas. I don’t want the whole school to know.”
“You kissed James!!!!”
“No, no I was just trying to slap him, but I tripped and what a miracle my lips ended up on his.”
“Really?”
“Of course not Dorcas. I didn’t know you were this gullible. Yes we were kissing.”
“Wait, are you two dating?”
“Yes. Is that a problem for you?”
“No. Of course not. I love James. I’m just surprised anyone would date you. Especially Pinky pie from my little pony.”
“Am I Pinky pie?”
“Of course you are James.” said Regulus and Dorcas in unison.
“For how long have you two been dating?” they both looked at each other and regulus said
“Today. Before practice.”
“That explains a lot of things. Like why Regulus was the last one to enter the changing room before practice. Or why he was looking at the stands the entire time.”
“You were looking at me during practice?”
“No I was not.”
“Sure you weren’t. It also explains why you didn’t come back with Barty after practice. You two were being gay. Well I guess I’ll see you at dinner Regulus. I’m going to meet my girlfriend.”
“I think we are going to the same place, Dorcas. Could you wait for me?”
“Of course James.”
James turned around and kissed Regulus before he went back to his dorm. He heard Dorcas murmur a little “so cute” which led Regulus to flip them off and that made James laugh.
“Are we going James?”
“Oh yes. Sorry Dorcas, I was lost in my mind.”
“You two are cute with each other. I couldn’t imagine someone more perfect than you to date this psycho.”
“He is not a psycho. He is a little angel.”
“Well you must be blinded by love because this guy has a collection of knives in his top drawer and he talks to them sometimes.”

“gay. And kind of weird”
“Oh eh you can’t tell Marlene about me and Regulus. Regulus doesn’t want to tell a lot of people for now. I guess your entire group knows now but I’ll only tell Remus and Lily because they are our common friends. Plus the Hogsmeade trip next weekend, we are doing a meeting between the two groups to organise a prank with everyone. And this way it won’t be suspicious for me and Regulus to be together for the entire day.”
“Okay that works for me. I’m glad you two finally got your shit together.”
“What do you mean finally? I know I’ve been pining over Regulus for a long time. But he did too?”
“Well you know the party at your house this summer. Well I guess it’s when he realised he really did have a crush on you. It was horrible watching you two make love eyes at each other the entire evening. The moment when he fell asleep on you and you took him back to his room we all thought you were going to kiss. I actually think Regulus had had a crush on you for longer than he let himself believe. Oh and I’m curious to know for how long you had a crush on him.”
“Well I have had a crush on him since the first time I saw him, so since I was twelve.”
“WHOA that’s a very long time James. You really are a persistent guy.”
“I don’t know if that was a compliment.”
“It was James. You are one of the kindest person I know.”
“And who is the kindest? Is it Marlene?”
“It’s definitely not her. No it’s Pandora. She just is so pure you know.”
“I guess she is. Well here we are. Pig snout.”
“You really have some stupid password.”
“I found them quite funny.”
“Of course you do.”
“Hello everyone, I'm back. Did you miss me? Hey Marls I brought you your partner.”
“That’s very nice of you James but I think they didn’t need a man to come here.”
“No they didn’t but we just bumped into each other in the corridor and since we were going to the same place, we went together.”
“Yeah we catched up a bit while we were walking here.”
“Well I’m going to get Moony and Pads to tell them it’s dinner time. Wait for me I got an announcement for the entire group.”
“Is it about you finally admitting your feelings to Baby Black.”
“Sadly it’s not Marls. I wish it was.”
“Don’t forget to knock before opening the door.”
“Thanks for the reminder Pete. I don’t want to be met with this vision again.”
James was a really good liar, Dorcas thought. Before they could say anything their girlfriend was kissing them.
“Hi babe.”
“Hello princess.”
“What is it that James wants to tell us? Do you know something? Is it about baby Black?”
“I kind of know what he wants to tell you but I won’t tell. It’s a really important thing but I’m already in. And it somehow involves Regulus but it’s because it involves my entire group of friends. Just wait until he tells you okay. Look here he comes back followed by the love birds.”
“Okay everyone let’s go eat. I’m hungry because I didn’t come to lunch.”
“Yeah that’s because you were to busy watching Regulus play Quidditch”
“Well yes I was Pete but it was my captain of the Quidditch team duty. I need to see the other team strategies. That’s the only reason I was there.”
“Keep being delusional James. Watching a Quidditch practice doesn’t last the entire afternoon. Where did you go when the practice ended? If you don’t tell us we could still ask Dorcas.”
“Well I got nothing to hide. When it ended, Barty came to talk to me because he is helping me to get with Regulus. He told me I should pair Regulus with Pandora for the next two Fridays because if I stay around him for too long he will get sick of me. And then he hexed me for no reason. I guess that’s something he does.”
“Is that the truth, Dorcas?”
“I assure you it is Mary.”
“What happened next then?”
“Well after that I went to see Regulus because I needed to ask him something about the Quidditch team and the practice. I need him to help our new player Lyra. He accepted but only if I trained his two new chasers in exchange so we made a deal. We then had to schedule the practice so that was what took us so long. And because I am a romantic man and I have a huge crush on him, I took him back to his common room. He then hexed me and I tripped and fell and that was when Dorcas arrived and helped me before we came here.”
“I guess that also is true.”
“Yes it is Peter.” Dorcas didn’t know James could lie that well. Remus was also looking at him and he seemed surprised. Maybe James had already told Remus. Dorcas was going to talk with him.
“Let’s not forget that I tried to flirt with him but I don’t think he noticed I did. Well now it's time to go eat. I'm very hungry and I have to tell you all something. We should hurry.”
“Just say you want to see Baby Black just to stare at him without going to talk to him.”
“That's a reason Marls but I really want to talk to you around dinner.”
Their entire group went down to dinner. They were just a group of 8 gay seventh year going down for dinner. They sat at their usual seat and Dorcas sat with them. James as always looked at the Slytherin table and waved at Regulus and as always a little smirk grew on Regulus’ face but this time it was followed with bright pink cheek. James blushed in return.
“I think you are growing on him Prongs.”
“I think you are imagining things Pads. I wish he liked me back.”
“So what were you so eager to tell us James?”
“Oh yes. Well you know how there's a Hogsmeade trip next weekend right.”
“Yes and …” they all answered in one voice.
“I thought we could all go to the three broomsticks with the entire group. The same one as the party in August. And at the same time we could plan one of our pranks. This one will need all of our brains because we are pranking a teacher.”
“Which one?”
“The new DADA teacher. I don't like him so that’s a good reason.” that was Sirius answering.
“So who's in?”
“We are.” said Marlene and Dorcas
“I'm in too.” added Mary
“Well I'm not sure. Shouldn't you be a bit more responsible as the Head Boy.”
“Come on Lily. It’ll be fun. It's our last year.”
“Okay. I'm in. Are you sure the Slytherin would be in.”
“They already are. I've already asked. They love drama so they didn't hesitate before joining.”
“Doesn't surprise me coming from my friends.”

It had become a habit for Regulus to scream into his pillow when he came back to his room after seeing James.
“AAAHAAHHA!!!!!”
“What the fuck is wrong with him ? Did he finally got his shit together and asked him ”
“Yeah he did actually and James said yes. He came to him at Quidditch and just watched the entire practice. I caught him before Regulus was back from the changing room and gave him a little speech about not hurting Regulus. I then left the lover birds to their own business. Regulus you were gone for a long time did you somehow manage to have sex with Potter.”
“What the fuck is wrong with you and sex Barty. No we did not, we just talked.”
“Sure that’s what you did and this what got you in that state.”
“Really Barty we just talked. We just went to the kitchen because James, the idiot he is, didn’t fucking eat since breakfast and stood in the sun the entire afternoon. I also wanted to speak with Kreacher for a while. Uhm i also agreed with James to keep us a secret from Sirius for now. I’ll tell him when I'm ready but just be careful and don’t let it slip. Oh and we are invited to go to Hogsmeade with their group next week. I thought you would like to join cause we are wanted to plan a prank on Riddle so I already agreed for you to come.”
“That is a lot of information, Regulus. But of course we are okay to plan a prank on a teacher.”
“I’m hungry Ev can we go up to dinner” said Barty who was laying in Evan’s lap
“Sure we can, love. Shouldn’t we wait for Dorcas” it was at a moment like this that Regulus realised how gentle his friends could get around each other.
“They already left. They are eating with their girlfriend so I left James in their care on the way back to his common room.”
“Are you scared your boyfriend will get lost or hurt?”
“I am actually. Seeing how clumsy he gets I don't want him to fucking fall down the stairs so that why I trust Dorcas to avoid this situation to happen.”

“Look who’s coming. Merlin's beard, is he waving at you like a 5 year old.”
“Don’t call him that!” Regulus looked up and saw his boyfriend, can you believe it HIS BOYFRIEND was waving at him. He really looked like a five-year- old but only Regulus could call him that.
“You’re smirking Reg”
“No I'm not” he said, hiding his face which he knew was turning red.
“Wow you really are down bad for him and it’s not even been a day since you two kissed for the first time.”
“Shut up Barty.”
“So when are you meeting James again?”
“Uhm i guess we are supposed to meet thursday after class.”
“Wooo and what is planned”
“Eh, we are training each other new players. I’m helping his seeker and he is helping my chasers.”
“That’s no fun.”
“Well he also mentioned that he was going to kidnap me during the week. I don’t know when or what to expect.”
“I really want to see what he will do to you.”
