James
When James woke up he knew something had happened last night. Sirius didn't knock to say goodnight. He always did even when Remus was staying over. So James knew something was wrong.
When he got down for breakfast he heard voices and he knew his parents were already at work so he could only be Sirius and someone else. He didn’t recognise the other voice from anywhere. It wasn’t one of the Marauders or one of the girls he knew. And they weren’t expecting anyone until the party on Sunday. So who was that mystery person?
James got into the kitchen and was met face to face with none other than Regulus Black. Everything around James stopped. He was beautiful. He was like an angel who had fallen right from heaven. He had angel eyes. They were like a mix between shades of grey and blue. If you looked in them for too long you might even drown in them.
Every sense came back to him when he was hit on the back of his head by Padfoot.
“Hey Earth to Prongs. We have something to talk about here”
“Uhm yeah sorry Pads. What were you saying?”
“I was telling you that Reggie here…”
“It’s Regulus” the young boy interrupt
“Well yeah. Regulus came last night and he is going to live here with us if it isn’t a problem”
“Eh no, no problem for me. We’ll just have to tell mom and dad when they get back home. I’m sure it won’t be a problem”
“I told you Regulus. You are welcomed”
“uhm I just wanted to ask about Kreature” Regulus asked shyly
“Oh yes Regulus also brought our house elf with him”
“I’m sure it will be no problem, he could just go and ask Winnie about the house”.
And that was it. In the span of one night everything in James’ house had changed. The two Black brothers were living under his roof and they both looked so relieved.
James was really happy for them to be reunited. He never really talked to Regulus but he knew he meant a lot to Sirius.
He needed to talk to Sirius about the party on Sunday. He had watched a lot of Regulus over the years and he knew he wasn’t really one to party. He just wanted to know if he would be disturbed by the noise or if he wanted to join the party and bring some friends over. So at the end of breakfast when Sirius went to the bathroom, James stopped Regulus from going out of the room.
“Uhm what are you trying to do Potter” Regulus asked with a suspicious grin
“Oh eh sorry. I just wanted you to know that we are throwing a party on Sunday and wanted to know
if you wanted to join”
“I’m not really the kind of person to party with people I don’t know”
“That's what I thought so I was going to propose to you to invite your friends too. Just so you know Pandora is already coming with Lily and Mary and I think because Marlene is coming Dorcas is coming to. So that only leaves Barty and Evan if I’m correct. ”
“I think I will send them an owl to ask them to come over. Will Remus be here too?”
“Oh obviously. Moony and your brother are always attached to the hips since they finally got their shit together last year”
And just like that, when James had stopped talking, Regulus slipped through the door, passing under James’ arm that was blocking the doorway. James watched the younger boy walk away and up the stairs.
James didn’t catch a glimpse of the two brothers the entire day. He went to the pitch to do laps and empty his mind. Regulus’ arrival was a lot. He wasn’t prepared for it. James was scared to mess up. He knew everything went on well with Sirius but at the time his parents were here and Sirius was his best friend. He had already come to the manor and already had his own room. Sirius was outgoing and had adapted pretty easily.
Regulus was different. He never talked to James or when he did he was rude and mean. But James didn’t care if the younger Black didn’t like him. Well no James wanted to be liked by everyone. And since he met Regulus on the train at 12, James wanted to be liked especially by him. James had found himself falling for Regulus over the years. James never told anyone about it. He couldn't because it was his best friend’s little brother. But James couldn’t help it. He liked when Regulus would send him mean comments. When he did, his face would scrunch and James found it really cute plus Regulus was a lot smaller than him which made it even cuter. These weren't the only things James liked about Regulus. Regulus was the prettiest person James has ever seen. He had those perfect dark curls that fell on the edges of his face. He had a perfectly symmetrical face and really sharp jaws. People might think it made Regulus scary. Well it did but James found his jawline really fucking hot.
What James liked the most about Regulus' face were his eyes. As he told himself earlier they were a mix of grey and blue. It was like looking at a night sky full of stars. It was quite funny looking at the fact that Regulus was named after a star. James not only likes the fact that Regulus is beautiful but also the fact that he was incredible as his own person, not only Sirius’ brother. He is the top student of his year and the best Seeker James has ever seen. James loves Quidditch and he couldn't get his mind away from the younger boy's flying skills. He was awesome while riding a broom (which might also mean he would be awesome at riding dicks).
WHAT THE FUCK. James stopped dead in his tracks wondering where this thought came from.
James had decided it must be enough flying for today. His thoughts were going a little too far. At first he was just thinking about being enough for Regulus to feel welcome.
He got back into the house, took a cold shower and went down to prepare dinner. Sirius joined him in the process but Regulus was still unseen (luckily for James and his stupid brain). Not even an hour later, his parents, Effie and Monty, got back from work only to find out that they had a new child under their roof.
