wish you were sober
Tonight would be the night, so Sirius decided.
The Gryffindors had won the game and, with it, the house cup. The euphoria was unmistakable, and as was traditional, a grand party was planned, with the necessary preparations already in place. Sirius, overjoyed with their recent victory since they had defeated Slytherin, thought he'd put all this enthusiasm to good use and finally muster up the courage to ask out his best friend. The excessive amounts of alcohol served would certainly help with his mission as well. He didn’t know whether that counted as cheating or not since he liked to pride himself on being a Gryffindor through and through, but whilst the thought of finally asking out Moony made his face feel hot and head dizzy, it also prickled on his skin and made his stomach feel all twisted up.
Fresh out of the shower and clothed in only boxer shorts, he was looking through his drawers to find something to wear when the door to their dorm opened, and he could hear James, who ran a party committee as tightly as the Quidditch team itself, yelling all the way from the common room.
‘’No, no, no. That banner needs to be 45 degrees to the left! It’s not that hard, Martens! Oh, bugger, just get down and let me do-’’
His voice was muffled by the door shutting and Sirius heard a sigh he knew all too well, making him turn around. Remus was leaning against the door, his eyes closed and a crease between his brows that Sirius wished to kiss away.
‘’You know,’’ Remus began, eyes opening and watching as Sirius approached him with a knowing smile on his face.
‘’There was a time when I was alone and had no friends. Sometimes I miss that,’’ he said in a sombre tone, letting his head fall back against the wooden door with a small thud.
‘’Oh come on, he can’t be that bad,’’ Sirius chuckled, halting to stand in front of his friend. He ought to feel embarrassed, standing shirtless in front of his crush, yet after years of full moons, there really wasn’t much either of them hadn’t seen of each other.
‘’He just made me charm the napkins four times. Four times. First folded into swans, but those weren’t ‘Gryffindor’ enough, so he asked for snitches, but those were too hard to unfold, then into lions, the same issue, until he decided that no one really needed folded napkins at a common room party, anyways. Then he turned around to yell at Martens, the poor bastard. I think Pete’s actually considering turning into Wormtail just so he can hide from his wrath,’’ Remus groaned and Sirius chuckled fondly, reaching out to ruffle the other’s hair.
‘’Want me to talk to him?’’ he offered, puffing up his chest a little. If he wanted Moony to be his boyfriend he should show that he was made out of boyfriend material, so he thought.
Remus chuckled at him, swatting Sirius's hand away to walk to his bed.
‘’Oh please, as if you stand a chance. The only reason I got away from there was that he told me to come up and tell you to stop fixing your hair and get your ass down. Apparently, you are on paper cup committee,’’ Remus said in a mocking tone as he began stipping from his school uniform himself.
‘’Yeah, he told me that in the changing rooms earlier. I told him to fuck off but somehow he didn’t get the message,’’ Sirius said as he shamelessly threw himself on Remus's bed, right next to the robe and tie Remus had just thrown on it, making the werewolf snort.
‘’Do you mind?’’ he asked though there was no malice in his voice and a smile on his face. Sirius just stretched out his arms, falling limp on the bed and looking up at his friend.
‘’I’m quite comfortable, actually, thank you very much,’’
He loved Moony’s bed, simply for the reason that it smelled like him, his sheets always a little softer, always a little warmer. Remus was pretty much used to Sirius hogging his bed, all of his things, really, like his clothes, and related it to his canine side.
‘’Hmm, good for you, you should soak it up. Gonna be hard to be comfortable after James tears you a new one,’’
Sirius would have laughed, he had even felt the sound coming up in his throat but it ultimately got stuck as Remus finally discarded his shirt, letting it fall next to him and leaving Sirius with a perfect view of his naked skin. Suddenly he was all too aware of his own exposure, of his promiscuous position on the bed, of their privacy in the room and everything started to feel hot, too close.
Abruptly he got up because the last thing he needed was getting a boner in only boxer shorts in front of Moony.
‘’Yeah, well, you know…’’ he began awkwardly, running back to his dresser under the pretence of having something to do.
‘’Everything alright?’’
Nothing’s alright. I can’t even look at you without thinking about how much I want to touch you, kiss and bite every inch of skin I can get my lips on until the taste of you is the only thing I know, the only thing I’m aware of outside of my own existence.
‘’Uh, yeah…Just remembered I still need an outfit for tonight!’’ he said awkwardly, grabbing at whatever pieces of clothing he could get his hands on before holding them up, staring pointedly at Remus’s curls instead of his actual face in fear of his eyes betraying him and wandering any lower.
‘’Which one’s better? Just so I can look decent to the common eye,’’ he laughed awkwardly, internally yelling at his heart to calm.
‘’How should I know what your fans would like to see you in?’’ Remus suddenly snapped in a bitter tone that made Sirius widen his eyes.
Strangely enough, Sirius found that tone of voice familiar. Remus would more often than not make some kind of remark about ‘his fans’, sometimes under the pretence of teasing him along with James or if they were walking down the halls and a bunch of girls started giggling. Could it be? That Moony felt that same pangs of jealousy, the viciousness that overcame Sirius whenever he saw someone flirt with Remus or attempt to touch him, about Sirius?
‘’Not ‘my fans’, Moony,’’ he stated, finally catching those big, defiant and beautiful eyes.
‘’I want to know what you would like to see me in,’’ he said, pronouncing every word to show just how true they were. Remus held his intense gaze for only a short moment until the words sank in and those eyes rounded, became hopeful and liquid for just a moment before the feeling was covered by those full lashes blinking rapidly.
‘’Oh,’’ the werewolf breathed as he adverted his eyes all together as if he had been scorched but it was too late, Sirius had finally seen in them what he had yearned for all this time.
‘’The one on the left, then,’’ Remus mumbled, sounding entirely too embarrassed and Sirius felt as though his heart wanted to jump out of his chest.
‘’Moony,’’ Sirius breathed, courageously stepping forward with both shirts still clutched in his hands. The werewolf's head snapped up and their eyes met. It was now or never.
Sirius opened his mouth, words on his tongue that could never encompass the true extent of his feelings yet were the means for the start of everything he had ever hoped for, and Remus's eyes widened in expectation of what was to come when suddenly the door to their dorm burst open, startling the two boys from the trance they were in.
‘’There you are. Listen, Pads, we all know your hair will look fine anyways so I need you on those cups. Most are still green from St. Patrick's day and we can’t have everyone thinking we’re serving Slytherin colours…’’
Sirius had never felt as murderous in his life before as during that moment.
He had lost his Moony. That is, in a simple locational sort of way. He still hadn’t given up hope on his confessing tonight, and though his attempts were interrupted earlier they still had given him a slight note of confidence. Five shots firewhiskey had helped things along as well. Problem was; Moony had fallen off the face off the earth, so it seemed. James had ushered them to get dressed, and after he had pulled them down slave away at the last bits of preparations more and more people started filling the common room. Sirius couldn’t even be mad at him, the place looked gorgeous and everyone was having the time of their fucking lives, James' tyranny having paid off. Everyone, that is, beside Sirius who simply wanted to find his best and snog the living daylights out of him.
Just as he seemed to have spotted that familiar head of curls, curtesy of Remus's glowering height, his way was cut off by Charlene Davenport, a 5th year who Sirius knew had a crush on him from the love letters she had slipped him on more than one occasion. Charlene was positively shit faced drunk and seemed to intend to move on from innocent love letters, her cleavage low and pressed against Sirius as she stopped him in his way to mumble something in his ear.
‘’...And it wouldn’t even have to be anything exclusive,’’
Sirius only made out the end of her sentence, too focused on the head of curls he has now officially lost, and returned his attention unwillingly to the girl in front of him.
‘’Yeah, sounds like a fun time but I’m sorry. Maybe you should go and get some crackers, alright, love? Something to soak up,’’ he said absentmindedly before gently pulling her aside and making his way throughout the crowd. He heard her call something after him but it didn’t matter. Finding Moony did.
Twenty minutes later Sirius had run around the entirety of the common room three times and asked about four different people (though Mary and Peter didn’t really count as they were too preoccupied with snogging each other in one of the armchairs in front of the fireplace) if they had seen Moony. Finally, he was back at the centre of the room, used as dance floor, where he found Lily and James dancing in the middle of it, Queen and King of Gryffindor tower that they were. Their arms were slung around each other and Lily leaned far back, laughing brightly while James' strong arms held her steadily as the Quidditch Captain mouthed the words to ABBA’s Lay All Your Love On Me to her.
As the song finally ended and shifted to another, Sirius swooped in and took her from James who called him something yet his voice got drowned out by the music.
‘’Hello, Lils, you look beautiful today, has my wanker of a best friend told you that tonight?’’ he said to her, though with the volume of the music he probably rather yelled in her face.
Lily laughed, letting Sirius spin her around with a bright smile before humouring him by dancing as widely as he did, partially to tease James.
‘’He has, in fact. Did you just fancy a dance or do you want something?’’ she asked, making Sirius laugh.
‘’You know me too well, Evans. Do you happen to have seen a friend of ours, about ye high, chances he’s wearing an oversized sweater, most beautiful eyes you have ever seen?’’
His lack of filter was probably to be written up to the alcohol in his system but Lily, probably also a bit tipsy, just laughed brightly.
‘’He went down earlier. Now go get him, loverboy, and twirl me back to my boyfriend,’’
Sirius smiled and turned her around once before pulling her close again so her back hit his chest. He kissed her cheek once before stepping back and twirling her with enough force she stumbled against James who had stood close by, dancing with Marlene’s girlfriend Dorcas. He accepted her with a bright smile on his face before looking up and giving Sirius a wink that the Gryffindor returned.
He found Remus at the bottom of the tower, a spot typically used for impromptu make-out sessions. Thankfully the boy was alone, sitting on the stone stairs and leaning against the wall with his long legs outstretched and tender fingers around the neck of a bottle.
‘’Got you,’’ Sirius sighed in relief as he finally approached his best friend. Remus just looked up, his eyes glassy and unfocused, before smiling brightly, perhaps a little lopsided.
‘’I’ve been looking everywhere for you, why are you hiding down here, hm?’’ he asked fondly, crouching down to be at eye level with the other.
As he did though the unmistakably strong smell of firewhiskey hit him, clouding his senses for a moment. He glanced at the bottle in Remus's hand and found it almost empty and his brows furrowed in concern. He looked back up to his friend who was still smiling goofily at him and found his eyes hooded, his head rolling to the side a little bit. Sirius reached out to place Remus’ face gently in his hands, steadying him so that their eyes could meet.
‘’Is everything alright, Moony? It’s not like you to drink that much,’’ he asked, his thumb beginning to stroke over the soft skin of Remus's cheek, right below the sharp cheekbone.
Remus hummed softly, closing his eyes contentedly at the contact, practically leaning into Sirius's touch.
‘’Everything’s wrong so I’m wallowing in self-pity,’’ the werewolf declared, lifting the bottle a bit and shaking it for emphasis. Remus's speech was never slurred when he was drunk. He’d stumble over a few words, or would giggle between them, yet he never sounded completely out of it, which is why you had to look out for the wording or his facial expressions to know in what a state he was in. Right now Sirius guessed he had outdrank the entirety of the Quidditch team.
‘’What’s wrong, darling?’’ Sirius asked softly, unaware of the pet name slipping out as he continued to caress Remus's face.
The Gryffindor’s eyes opened and he snorted as he met Sirius's worried gaze, the hand that wasn’t holding the bottle coming up to rest around Sirius’s wrist, not pulling it from his face but simply returning the touch, making the other boy’s pulse fasten.
‘’Everything is. This,’’ he stated, now gently squeezing his wrist,
‘’You looking at me like that,’’ he continued.
Sirius felt his blood run cold, his stomach sinking.
‘’Oh,’’ he said, feeling disgusted and embarrassed at himself.
Before his thoughts of self-loathing could even spiral into the abyss they were doomed to fall into upon Remus's open rejection, the werewolf sighed deeply as if he was shouldering the weight of the entire world.
‘’I mean, I never know what to think with you. I spend so much time and energy convincing myself you could never feel that way about me but then you just come along and do these things and look like that, look at me like that, and I’m, I have to start all over again because I see you with someone else and realize it could never be me and it’s all just so confusing …’’ Remus rambled on, now pulling Sirius's hand off his face but never letting go of his wrist, letting it rest on his thigh as he looked up at Sirius with those big eyes, as helpless as Sirius felt. A thousand questions were shooting through the raven-haired boy’s brain and he could only gape at his friend.
‘’I’m afraid, I don’t follow,’’ he eventually managed to say, at a complete lack of better words. Upon that, Remus appeared sombre as he leaned back to observe Sirius's face for a second.
‘’No, you never do,’’ he sighed deeply before leaning forward, letting his forehead rest against Sirius’ whose breath hatched at the sudden proximity.
‘’I fancy you, you idiot,’’ Remus said, sounding as if he was in deep agony.
Sirius's breath stopped completely and for a minute he felt nothing but the violent beating of his own heart against his chest as well as the clammy feeling of his long hair sticking against his nape. Had he started sweating? Was he having a heart attack? Did Moony just tell him he fancied him?
‘’Why aren’t you saying anything?’’ Remus whined as he bumped his nose against Sirius’s, his breath hot and still smelling of firewhiskey ghosting over Sirius's lips.
‘’Sorry, I think my spirit just went out of my body,’’ Sirius breathed, feeling himself sink to his knees, his breath staggering as the movement caused his lips to brush ever so slightly against those of his best friend.
‘’Hmm,’’ Remus hummed, deep and softly as he reached out to grab a fist of Sirius's shirt,
‘’Let me pull you back to me then,’’ he said and with a tug on the other’s shirt, their lips finally connected.
The second Moony’s mouth was on his an almost violent desire overcame Sirius and he pushed forward, having to steady his arm against the wall behind them to stop him from overpowering Remus completely, to stop himself from indulging in his desire to be so close to him he wished he could rip open his chest and climb inside of it. His other hand, which had before gently held his face was now around his neck, pulling his hair to get him to tilt his head upwards for better access. The action made Moony gasp, his mouth falling open slightly and the sound drove Sirius absolutely insane, all he could think of was Mine, Mine, Mine as took the open invitation to put his tongue inside the other's mouth.
Here on his knees at the bottom of the tower, drunkenly kissing his best friend he felt like a sinner finally allowed to pray in the temple again and oh what better metaphor could there be than that? If Sirius wanted to do one thing it was to worship the boy in front of him, to wash himself of all his crimes so he’d be deserving to touch what was now finally in his hands.
Sirius wasn’t himself, wasn’t anything but a burning desire that enveloped both of them, ending in desperate touch of lips that would leave their mouth feeling burned. That was until he shifted to be closer to his Moony, his everything, and his knee knocked against the almost empty bottle of firewhiskey, pushing it over, the sound echoing throughout the otherwise empty tower. It was so startling that all of a sudden his hot desire was replaced by a cold dread, the sound of the clattering bottle brutally reminding him of the state he had found his friend in.
He pulled away as if he had been slapped, moving at least an arm's distance away from Remus who whined at the loss of contact and Merlin, Sirius had to put all his self-constraint together upon hearing that sound.
‘’This isn’t right,’’ he breathed, his chest heaving heavily. He was surprised there even was any air left in his lungs, he had been willing enough to give it all to the boy in front of him who was now frowning at him.
‘’You’re, you’re drunk. We shouldn’t…I mean, it isn’t right…’’
‘’Oh come on,’’ Remus smiled, moving forward way too seductively and looking just as bothered as Sirius, causing the boy to back away until his back now hit the wall.
‘’That didn’t bother you last time. Just, please,’’ the werewolf murmured before he craned his neck so he could breathe over the shell of Sirius's ear, making the raven-haired boy's entire body shudder.
‘’I’m so sick of pretending I don’t want you,’’ Remus whispered into his ear and Sirius had to grit his teeth so hard it hurt his jaw. He clenched his fists once, his nails digging so deep into his skin he wouldn’t be surprised if they drew blood, before unclenching them again and releasing a soft breath.
‘’Believe me, me too, but I don’t want this to happen while you’re drunk. You deserve more than that, Moons,’’ he said, trying his hardest to ignore the elegant length of Remus's neck right within his reach.
‘’Also Prongs would deck me if I took advantage of you so,’’ he said, laughing afterwards though it came out a bit more breathy than he intended when Remus huffed softly, the hot air hitting the skin behind his ear. Then, as his brain had finally decided to catch up, he blinked once, reaching out to gently push the werewolf back by his shoulders so he could face him.
‘’Wait, what did you mean with that didn’t bother me last time? What last time?’’ he asked, furrowing his brows.
The previous drunken goofy smile appeared on Moony’s face and Sirius had to bite his lip to stop himself from kissing him silly. Being a good guy was truly agony.
‘’You kissed me at last year’s Halloween party. I think it was the first time either of us really got shitfaced for the first time. I had such a big crush on you back then it was embarrassing,’’ the werewolf chuckled.
Sirius's brain short-circuited for a moment and he could only gape at Moony. He had done what? Last year? He barely remembered that party except for…oh. Oh no.
‘’And then you went down and got together with Emmeline Vance,’’ Remus finally sighed, previous happiness temporarily forgotten in a distant, sad memory.
Sirius's head was swimming and his mouth felt dry. He remembered how all of them had gotten drunk, just silly 15-year-olds finally getting their hands on some real alcohol. He remembered Remus going upstairs and following him to check on him. He remembered seeing him, sitting on the windowsill of their room and smoking a cigarette, the ever-present moon looming over him and Sirius having the urge to yell at it to leave his precious friend alone. Yet then, there was only haziness until he had found himself back on the dance floor, he had come down to search for Prongs because he had something urgent to tell him, oh, and then there was Emmeline, bravely kissing him in front of everybody and leaving Sirius with little choice but so accept her offer.
All this new information was too much. Remus had liked him? Even back then? And Sirius had, Sirius had kissed him, even when he hadn’t even been aware of his feelings. It shouldn’t be as surprising as it was, probably. Moony had always been special to him, he had always found him the most magnificent and magical thing he had ever seen. But how could he have forgotten something so important? And more importantly, how could Moony have been left with something like that?
‘’But…why did you never say anything, Moony?’’ he gasped, reaching out to cup his cheeks once again. Remus only smiled sadly,
‘’I thought you wanted to forget about it. It probably meant nothing to you and you seemed happy enough with Emmeline, with everyone else,’’ he said and the hurt in his voice was evident even though he tried his hardest to sound as if it was a truth he had long ago accepted.
‘’Oh, oh love I am so sorry,’’ Sirius said, ignoring the tears that threatened to make their way out of his eyes as he kissed Remus's forehead.
‘’So, so sorry. God, I am so stupid,’’
He proceeded to kiss his cheeks, first the left and then the right one, kiss his jaw, his lips, his temple, everything he could reach to show how sorry he was.
Remus had grabbed his shirt again, his mouth slightly parted and eyes closed as he let Sirius shower him in affection
‘’I love you, Moony. I love you, I’m sorry I have been such a prick,’’ Sirius finally whispered into the other's ears.
‘’Mmh, it’s okay,’’ the werewolf murmured before pushing Sirius's long hair out of the way to kiss leaving a trail of hot, open-mouthed kisses along his neck. Sirius was immediately rendered speechless and all he could do was groan while throwing his head back to give better Remus better access.
‘’You’re so gorgeous,’’ Remus breathed against his Adam's apple before placing his tongue flat against it and kissing the hot skin, leaving Sirius with shaking hands.
‘’This is so wrong, I should stop you, you’re still drunk,’’ he breathed as Remus began to unbutton the first few buttons of his shirt while simultaneously sucking on his neck which would undoubtedly leave a mark, something which made me the pool of Sirius's stomach feel warm at just the thought of Remus being as possessive of him, wanting to leave a proof of his touch on Sirius for the rest of the world to see.
‘’If it’s wrong why does it feel so fucking good?’’ Remus breathed into his ear, his voice hoarse and laced with the same desire Sirius knew all too well. Sirius couldn’t help the moan that escaped his lips that echoed throughout the empty tower, eventually falling back to him and pulling him out of his trance.
‘’No, Moony, really, you’re drunk,’’ he managed to say, once again pulling the werewolf back by his shoulders who seemed as unhappy about the fact as Sirius felt which in a way was also endearing.
‘’I’m not that drunk,’’ Remus said defensively though he seemed to have trouble staying steady if it weren’t for Sirius steady hands.
‘’Oh really? Say, what’s your honest opinion of Snivellus then?’’
‘’Who?’’
‘’Severus Snape,’’
‘’Oh, him, um, yeah, great guy, don’t see how this proves anything,’’
Sirius chuckled, running a hand through his carefully styled hair and probably ruining it before standing up, gently pulling Remus with him who groaned.
‘’Come on now, we’re gonna get you some nice sobering up potion and then hopefully I can continue to snog your face off,’’ Sirius said, as he put Remus's arms around his shoulders.
‘’Ugh, I probably could have made you come three times by now,’’ Remus grumbled as they moved towards the staircase and Sirius had to give himself a whole minute to collect himself before moving forward. Maybe Remus wasn’t as innocent as he always thought him to be.
After the most straining fifteen minutes of his life, not because Moony was too heavy to get upstairs but because the werewolf wouldn’t stop whispering all the filthy things he would be doing to Sirius once they reached the dorm, Sirius had finally managed to get Moony into his bed, though definitely not in the way he wanted to. Looking back Sirius really didn’t know how he had made it up that tower without just taking Remus right then and there in front of everyone as the werewolf had said he wanted him to and, to make things worse, he discovered that the last bit of their sobering up potion had been used. Sirius guessed it was Peter who had been so shitfaced on St. Patrick's day he had charmed himself green, and therefore all they could do was wait until Remus would sober up on his own which might as well take all night.
The problem was that it was getting harder and harder to hold himself back, especially now with Remus practically sprawled out in front of him.
‘’God, you’re such a prude, you won’t even let me suck your dick,’’ Remus complained, throwing his head back into the pillow while rolling his eyes.
Sirius may have even laughed at that under normal circumstances but right now he was so horny he could barely even think straight so he groaned, letting himself lay beside Remus before hiding his face in the crook of his neck.
‘’Trust me, darling, I’m not into this masochism myself,’’ he said. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t stop himself from kissing the other’s shoulder before placing his head on it so he could look up at the werewolf.
‘’I just hope you still fancy me tomorrow and this wasn’t just some drunk adventure, otherwise, I’m going straight to hell,’’ he murmured. Remus chuckled, reaching out to run his hand through Sirius’s hair, making him hum contentedly and close his eyes.
‘’I hope so too,’’ he said softly and Sirius opened his eyes again, feeling the guilt overcome him once again.
‘’It’s not. I meant everything I said, Moony. I love you,’’ he breathed.
Remus smiled and turned to lay on his side so that they were face to face, their noses brushing against each other.
‘’I want to kiss you so bad,’’ Sirius groaned, biting his lip as his eyes fell on those of his best friend
‘’Then do it,’’
‘’I can’t. If I start I won’t be able to stop,’’
‘’Sounds good to me,’’
‘’You’re so weird when you’re drunk. Can’t you at least slur your words or hiccup like anyone else?’’
‘’Maybe I’m just not that drunk after all,’’
‘’You called Snivellus a great guy,’’
‘’Fair point,’’
‘’Let’s just go to sleep,’’
‘’I wouldn’t mind sleeping with you,’’
‘’Heavens, Moony, you’re making this harder than it has to be,’’
‘’You mean I make you harde-’’
‘’Yes, now goodnight!’’
Remus woke up alone in their dorm the next morning, feeling as if a truck had run him over. James had put a hungover potion next to his bedside table along with a note saying that they had gone breakfast without him and if he wanted to he could come to join them by the black lake. Remus grumbled and got out of bed in a daze, taking the potion before proceeding to take a shower. The potion made him feel a bit better and after he had brushed his teeth and gotten the foul taste out of his mouth he inspected himself in the mirror. He looked a little dishevelled though he had definitely looked worse after a full moon. He would have just gotten into the shower if it wasn’t for the state of his lips that caught his gaze. They were definitely swollen and bitten but Remus had no memory of chewing on the-
And then it all came crushing back to him. Sirius. Sirius. It was Sirius who had done this, who had kissed and bitten and sucked on his lips so enthusiastically the evidence was still visible a day later. Sirius, whom he had equally devoured with his mouth, who he had begged to fuck him and never let him go. Sirius, his best friend, from who he had hidden his feelings for over a year
Oh good lord.
There was nothing left to do for Remus than to drown himself in the shower.
In the shower, however, he remembered Sirius's feverish pleas for him, his desperate hands and lips that were even more eager than his own. And Sirius had definitely had less to drink than him.
His spiral of thoughts didn’t proceed for long as he eventually got out of the shower, stepping out in just a towel around his waist when the door to their dorm opened and Sirius entered, breathing heavily and dressed in a Gryffindor sweater.
Remus stopped in his tracks and so did Sirius, the door falling shut behind him and leaving them in a deafening silence. Sirius's eyes landed on Remus's exposed skin and drank it in hungrily.
‘’Fuck,’’ he groaned and Remus, despite the rapid beating of his heart, couldn't help but laugh.
‘’Good morning,’’ he chuckled, moving towards the Gryffindor who suddenly seemed alarmed, holding up a hand which made him stop in his tracks.
‘’I’m sorry, Moony, but I need to know if you really did mean anything you said last night before you step any closer because I really can’t account for myself. I’m so fucking horny that I just did a morning jog with Prongs. I jogged, Moony, that’s how pathetically I am in love with you so I need you to acknowledge what happened yesterday before you come any-’’
Remus laughed brightly and stepped forward, cutting Sirius's monologue short by grabbing his face in his hands and kissing him, effectively shutting him up.
‘’Thank god,’’ Sirius breathed against his lips, making Remus laugh against his lips.
It wasn’t long before they both laid naked together in bed, exhausted and their limbs entangled with each other, Sirius kissing every piece of skin of Moony that was in his reach.
‘’I stalked who you had dates with and hexed them the next day,’’ he confessed before running a row of open-mouthed kisses against Remus's collarbone, feeling the boy underneath him vibrate with laughter. Sirius wanted to eat him whole.
‘’And here I was beginning to think I was just too despicable to get off with a second time,’’ he laughed.
‘’Mh, we need to do something about those self-esteem issues, otherwise, we could have been doing this way earlier,’’
‘’You can’t blame me, you basically snogged half the castle in front of me. How was I supposed to know you fancied me?’’
‘’I’m a tosser, I know,’’
Remus sighed, running a hand through Sirius's hair as the Gryffindor rested his chin on his chest.
‘’I don’t know if I really want a tosser as a boyfriend,’’ he said, his smile giving him away.
‘’Too bad, you already got one,’’ Sirius said brightly, planting a kiss on his chest before moving up to his mouth.
‘’Mh, I’ll guess I’ll have to make do,’’ Remus whispered against his lips before pulling Sirius lower lip between his teeth, making the boy groan.
‘’God, I can’t wait to tell Prongs,’’ Sirius beamed after he finally let go of Remus, only because they were in need of air.
‘’I don’t know how to feel about you suddenly thinking of Prongs in bed but I guess I should have expected it,’’ Remus said, earning a pinch in the side.
‘’Oh come on, he waited forever for us to get together,’’
‘’Mh,’’ Remus said in thought and Sirius glanced at him.
‘’I know that glint in your eyes. You’re thinking of something wicked, aren’t you? Share it this instant!’’ he said excitedly, making Remus chuckle before kissing the corner of his mouth.
‘’Well, I still kind of want to get back at him for bossing us around yesterday. Not to mention the years of pining we had to endure. Seems kind of unfair for us to get together so soon,’’
‘’So what are you thinking, oh brilliant Messer Moony?’’
‘’Glad you’re asking, Messer Padfoot. How about we pretend we actually had a fight yesterday and didn’t get together. We can watch him break a leg while trying to get us together?’’
‘’We can’t do that, you know how stressed out he gets when there’s a fight under us! He’ll break out again and he has that 6-week anniversary date with Lily next weekend, that would just be cruel,’’
‘’You’re right, but I still think we have the opportunity for a prank here that we shouldn’t let pass up,’’ Remus sighed. Sirius nodded, turning to think of something.
‘’Okay, how about this, we act like we usually would because I really cannot fathom not touching you all the time now that I finally can,’’
This earned him a blinding smile from Remus which he just had to kiss,
‘’But we’re just going to deny we’re together. He kept telling me how we basically behaved like a couple already and how that was driving him insane,’’
‘’Brilliant!’’
The rest of the way was pretty much taken up with laying in each other’s arms and kissing. That was until they could hear James and Peter come back from the lake and they decided to set their plan in motion, both equally wicked smiles on their faces.
