Chapter 1

||In games, there is always a way to win, a way to end the game, but this game? This game is never-ending||

If I was being a hundred percent honest. I disliked being at Hogwarts during the Triwizard tournament, not a single champion was a Slytherin and there were two Hogwarts champions; Cedric Diggory and Harry Potter. It was bloody ridiculous that Harry Potter had even succeeded in getting into the tournament but there was nothing I could do.

It was nearly my last year here, only this one and one more to go, I was so done, I wanted to leave and become a professional Quidditch player, something that had been my dream ever since I was a child.

And this year Quidditch was canceled because of the stupid Triwizard tournament.

The first task had just ended and I was now sitting in the Great Hall the day after sitting beside my best friend Adrian Pucey.

“That stupid Cedric Diggory, I’m so sick of him and his Hufflepuff attitude, he didn’t even win, I placed good money on him with the Weasley Twins,” He scoffed at me.

“What d’you mean?” I asked. “You made bets with the Weasley twins?”

“Y/N, yes yes I did,” He growled. “Now I have to pay up, come with me.”

I rolled my eyes standing up and walking with Adrian towards the Gryffindor table where the Weasley twins sat grinning ear to ear when they saw Adrian and I walk towards them, Adrian's head hung in defeat.

“Well, well Pucey, see you’ve come to give us what we’re owed,” said the one on the left, his eyes twinkling with a mischievous glint. “Georgie?”

“Pucey please place your twenty galleons in this bag,” George said, handing Adrian a purple and white bag.

“You bet twenty galleons, really Adrian,” I exclaimed, smacking him upside the head. “That's nearly all of your savings!”

“Ah-ha, Miss. Y/L/N,” Fred said looking at me, I glanced over at him.

“Yes, Weasley?” I raised an eyebrow, I’ve never really talked to the Weasley twins, I’ve always felt like I was rather lower than them in a sense, they were the master pranksters, the two most popular boys in Gryffindor and nearly in all of the sixth year. But, I’ve never shown my intimidation.

“Have you come to place a bet as well?” George said, leaning on his hand and grinning at me.

“No, you two nearly always win so it would be futile to,” I laughed incredulously.

“Surely you don’t have a galleon to spare?” Fred said, shaking the bag, his eyes locking with mine.

“No, not for your obnoxious betting, what are you two even going to do with the money? It's absurd that you’re taking the money from first years who have no idea what betting is,” I growled.

“Now now, we’re not taking it from them, they’re willingly giving it to us,” Fred replied in a mock voice of surrender.

“Oh that's bloody rich,” I scoffed, grabbing Adrians arm, turning him around as I dragged him back towards the slytherin table.

“When you’ve come to your senses don't be afraid to bet a few galleons on the next task!” Fred said, calling after me.

“In your dreams!”

I turned back to George after Adrian Pucey and his friend had left us at our table, George was giving me a look as though he had an idea.

“What?” I asked him.

“Want to make a few galleons Freddie?” He asked me, raising an eyebrow.

“What do you have in mind?” I ask him.

George glanced around his eyes landing on Y/N Y/L/N who was actively scolding Adrian Pucey at the Slytherin table his head bowed towards the tabletop.

“I’ve heard that she has never dated anyone ever,” George started out. “I doubt that anyone would be able to win her over, and make her fall in love.”

“Is that a challenge my dear brother?” I asked.

“I bet you ten galleons that you can’t make her fall in love with you,” he said grinning. Lee Jordan leaned in from across the table.

“I’ll throw in five galleons,” He said.

Alicia Spinnet, Angelina Johnson, and Katie Bell all pitched in and threw five galleons each into the bag that George held out, thirty galleons for me to make Y/N Y/L/N fall in love with me.

“Alright, you’re on,” I grinned already knowing that I wasn’t going to fail.
