James was to be married tomorrow. Remus couldn’t believe it. It felt like yesterday, they had met on the train. Yet here Remus stood at James’s bachelor party not even 8 years later. It was a small gathering, mostly Order members, they couldn’t be sure who to trust anymore. The whole war business was very nasty. But James insisted these were the only people he would have invited anyway. Champagne, fire whiskey and butterbeer was abundant. Remus wasn’t drinking, he wasn’t sure how it would affect him with the full moon in two days and he wasn’t sure he wanted to find out. Not everyone at the party knew what Remus was after all.
But Remus was very content to see James and by extension Sirius get absolutely wasted in James’s backyard. He was definitely going to remind them of all this during the ceremony tomorrow. James, Sirius, and even Peter are drunkenly karaoke singing ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’. Remus leaned on a tree, watching them and sliding down slightly as the moon rose behind them. Even though the full moon was days away, the phantom pains grew stronger at the sight of how full it was.
Sirius noticed this, Sirius noticed everything. He immediately begins cursing the moon's existence. To which the others join in naming all the strifes they could gesturing wildly at the moon. The other party guests either found it amusing and joined in laughing or found it odd and laughed anyway. Remus smiled. That is until all three of the other Marauders decided it would be a good idea to try to blow up the moon… again.
“Bombarda maxima!” Three shots of light faded into the night. The moon looked unphased. The party erupted with laughter again.
“You absolute knobs,” Remus shook his head. “Crazy the lot of you”
“Only for you moons!” Sirius winks back at him
“Anything for you Moony” James smirks
“What they said” Peter chimed in.
