Evergreen Confession

I called up Harry after doing research and failing to find a good enough answer to Draco's sudden abilities.
"Potter, I'm at a loss here," I told him.
"What's up Cy?" He asked me in a neutral tone. "Well, so Draco saved me from a crashing car with his one arm. So, I'm trying to figure out how." Harry breathed in and out as I gave him the details of the incident. It was like he was trying to decide if he should tell me something.
"Ok, so my school has this superstition that there are Vampires that are living at Spoons. They're called the Dark ones. Since they primarily operate in the dark and can turn into dark smoke. It's like a mix of a ghost and vampire. Their eyes would glow while using their powers and their teeth would sharpen if they feel threatened." Everything dawned on me when Harry started describing the nature of the vampires. It makes sense. How they have sensitive senses. Like how Draco obsesses over my voice. Maybe it's piercing his ears. Might as well be careful. What do I do with this revelation?

"Thanks, Potter, I owe you one," I told him
"Don't mention it. I'm just glad that I know you."

I sat with Cho and Cedric, eating my sandwich. They look confused as I wore a silk scarf around my neck. I barely talked, scared that Malfoy would get annoyed at my shrill voice.
"Ok, what's wrong with you, and who do I have to fight," Cedric asked. Narrowing his eyes at my sudden change in attitude.
"Nothing, probably a little paranoid after that car incident," I told them. Cho patted my back in reassurance. She handed me a jade pendant. "This is a lucky pendant. It  will protect you from harm." I smiled at her sweet gesture. Honestly, if vampires are in Spoons then might as well believe in other superstitions.

I was a little quieter when I read the passage. But I can see Draco get annoyed. "Ok, why are you quiet? Speak louder." He demanded. I sighed. Closing the book.
"Don't you think my voice is shrill and annoying?" I asked, crossing my arms insecurely. Looking shyly into his glaring eyes.
"No, it's addicting." He leaned toward me. Staring right back into my eyes. "It doesn't pierce my ears, it soothes me. It's like a lullaby and a melody at the exact same time. And if you don't speak up I swear-" he growled, trying to get everything under control, I said,
"Ok, ok no need to be hyped up about it. It's just a voice." I cleared my voice and started reading. This guy- is weird. Too weird for my taste. He only sighed in relief as I spent the whole period reading him the passage and discussing the themes of the play.

This girl is getting on my last nerve. She doesn't do what I tell her and she doesn't understand why her voice is so special. It sounds like a wedding march, a symphony. It sounds like the rolling current of a creek and the buzzing of a honey bee. It's everything and nothing at the same time. And damn my senses for picking up the vibrations in her voice and her beating heart. Why. Why is she driving me so bloody crazy? Her pink-tinged and pouty lips make me grit my teeth. Her small and graceful, long fingers make me grip the end of the table, my sharp nails digging streaks in the desk. Her hair, god her fucking hair. I want to take that silly ribbon out of her hair and watch it fall around that gentle face of hers. I want to rip those stupid sunglasses to see her true eyes. Everything about her is so fucking mysterious. I want to get to know all of her. I wonder how small her waist is and fantasize about running with her on my back. About impressing her with my skills.

But how do I even start to get to know someone as perfect as her? I do not know the first thing about socializing and I have to constantly remind myself of her human traits. I watch her walk away after class. Damn, even her walk is so graceful. What do I even do?

What do I do with her and how much do I want her?

---

We were on a field trip to the community botany garden. I was walking through the marigolds with Draco behind me and Cho and Cedric in front of me. They were holding hands. I suddenly slipped over the wet compost but Draco caught me. He sniffed. Gripping the small of my back with his cold and rough hands. "Can't you watch where you're going?" I scoffed.
"Well, thanks for catching me at least." I walked forward. Draco sighed. Ok, I'm being a little too harsh. He's trying at least.

I walked out of the entrance of the botany garden. Draco suddenly drags me to the back of the bus. He let go of me and asked in a shaky voice. "Did you dig into what I did on that day?" Worried about what I'd found out.
"Yeah. Wanna hear my theory?" He nodded enthusiastically. Sighing because I knew what this would entail, I started rambling. "Well, there is a town legend that Vampires live in Spoons, that they have powers but are stronger at night." His eyes widened as he was caught in something. I didn't like seeing him like that, so I lied. I lie when I have to. It's nothing compared to having Draco Malfoy feel scared and anxious. I don't want to make him like that.
"But that's ridiculous. I mean vampires, really? What's next huh? Werewolves?" I told him, shrugging. He sighed in relief and agreed with me.
"Yeah, that's so ridiculous."
"It's probably a burst of adrenaline." He burst out in giggles. "Sure," he told me.

There it is! The guy can actually be happy huh.

We didn't have school on Friday so I knocked on Sable's front door and waited for the door to happen. Don't ask me where I got her address. I just do. Her mother opened the door. She looked at me. "My daughter can make friends with all sorts of creatures huh." she gave me a knowing smile. Of course, she'd know, she was friends with my father. But how is she so eager to let me near her daughter? Isn't she scared of how I could hurt her?

"Mercy, someone at the door for you!"

---

"Draco? What are you doing here?"  I was wearing a green teeshirt with a snake emblem. I love snakes, I have a snake in my room called Slythers. A black king cobra but my king cobra.
"I- uh. I want to take you out to a small garden that I thought you'd like to see." He meekly told me. Well, I love flowers and I would love to get to know him.
"Alright." I went inside and up to my room. Getting ready for the impromptu hangout. I quickly fed Slythers a small dead mouse before changing in front of the mirror.

I wore my brother's varsity jacket over the green t-shirt. I also wore black pants with a green fanny pack. I put snacks and bandaids in case the guy wants to kill me or something, you can never go wrong with a mini first aid kit.  I went back downstairs and kissed my mom on the cheek. "Malfoy! Bring her home by 8 pm." She grinned as I giggled at her. Always so punctual with me. That's my mom for you.

--

I was sitting on a bench with Draco in the middle of a field of marigolds in a secluded part of the forest. Draco cleared his throat as he started talking.
"I want to apologize." I looked at him, tilting my head as I stared into his gentle eyes. This is sudden.

"I'm not so good at getting to know people. I'm sorry for being so harsh and blunt. It's just that- I-." He sighed. He looked at me, now with those green eyes of his. I stood up and backed away from me. He looks like he wants to devour me. His eyes were glowing as he scans my shaking figure. He started walking toward me as I stepped back. Shakily wanted to keep distance between me and him. What is he doing and why am I suddenly aroused by it. I should be fully scared!
"I am the world's most dangerous predator." He stares into my eyes as I scurried away from him, he still walks at a faster pace, tilting his head to the right. Looked at me with cold predatory eyes.
"Everything, everything about me is supposed to be warm and inviting. Addicting to everyone especially you. My hair my voice and my scent draws people in.  But you- you resist it." He leans in after standing directly in front of me.
"How are you so goddamn addicting to me? Everything about you is addicting to me. Your hair." He ripped my ribbon from my ponytail, causing my hair to flow down my face. My bangs slightly cover my eyes. The tips of my hair curl when it hits the air.
"Your neck." He snatched my blue scarf from my neck. I quickly covered my neck with my left hand. Trying to brace from getting bit.  This guy isn't stopping as he grips my wrist tightly, his cold nails digging into my skin.
"And finally your eyes." he took my glasses away from me as he stared into my eyes. Mesmerized by my eyes.  "Of course, they look like rubies. My favorite gems." He let go of me. I held my wrist in my hand. Looked at him with scared eyes. Holy shit is he going to kill me because I know his secret. Am I going to die just because I read him a Romeo and Juliet passage in English class? Fuck I don't want my mom to investigate my murder.

"I can absolutely ruin you. To make you beg for your life." He cupped my cheek and wrapped his hand around the small of my back. He stroked my cheek with his rough thumb pads. Looking intently into my eyes, licking his lips slightly. Does he want to eat me?
"But I'd never hurt you. I hate seeing you hurt. I hate that small cut on your cheek and I want you. I want you here, now, and forever. " He leaned in close to the crook of my neck. Smelling my scent. Damn me for deciding to use that vanilla lotion that my mom got for me. He sniffled.
"I, Draco Malfoy am a vampire. I am a vampire and I am completely captivated by you. Mercy Sable." he kissed my neck and took my hands in his. Leaning into my body, fully immersed in me.  Wait he's in love with me? Why me? What did I do to deserve this? What the bloody hell?! All I did was recite some mushy poems from a book written by a dead guy.
"I fell in love with you. The lion falls in love with a lamb. I find myself pining over you and you make me stumble and stutter. You make me absolutely weak and to be honest, I absolutely love it." He told me. Licking my collarbone with a gentle stroke of his pink tongue. It was pointed, like a snake's tongue. It destroyed my senses. My neck was raised in goosebumps. He stopped, waiting for an answer. What does he even want from me?! To swoon. Cause I'm not going to fucking swoon.

I was just confused and pissed. I snatched my hands away from me and took 5 steps back. Keeping a good distance from Draco and me. "What the absolute fuck!? Why can't you just chill for one second! I thought you were going to kill me! Warn a girl next time! I don't know why you obsess over my voice and everything about me, but you're confusing. Half the time I can't tell what you want from me. I know you're struggling but don't scare me like that!" He rubbed the back of his neck as he looked away guiltily. Probably feeling bad. As much as he deserves to, I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose. I went over to him and took his hands in mine. He shifted to hold both of my hands in his hands. Stroking my wrist with his thumbs. He looked at me, pleadingly. Waiting for my answer. I took a deep breath and told him the truth, the whole truth. "Mal, look. Ok. I do like you too. You're caring. In your own dumbass way, you care about me. Worry about me. I know you do. But you need to tone it down with the obsession thing. It isn't healthy if you keep doing that." I cupped his cheek. He sighed in contentment as he leaned into my touch. Rubbing his cheek against my warm palm. Is this what it looks like to have someone utterly addicted to your touch? If so, then it looks sickeningly sweet.

"Those are my terms. Don't be obsessive and be more honest about your feelings." He chuckled. "I'll follow them, Sable, as long as you stick to my side." He leaned down to give me a gentle kiss. His pillowy lips met mine. He takes my face in his cold and rough hands, pressing me to a tree and sliding his hips in between my legs. He kisses at all angels of my lips and takes my lower lip in his mouth, dragging his teeth along the bottom of my lip. He breaks it with a trail of drool. He peppers kiss along the ridge of my neck as he takes my waist and crushes me against his hold with his right arm. His left arm is trapping me against the tree, grinding his nails into the bark of the tree. And for a second, I wouldn't mind if he bit me. But he stopped.
"Bloody hell I need to stop before I take a sip of that delectable blood of yours." I giggled. "Thanks, Mal." I ruffled his hair as he purred into my neck.

"Please touch my hair more."

We were lying amongst the dandelions. My head was on his lap as he picked dirt from my hair. He kisses my hands lovingly as he dispels the rumors about vampires and talks about his family values.
"Vampires can't die by stake, we don't burn in the sun we shimmer, there is only one way to kill a vampire which is separating the head from the neck and also." He leaned down and kissed my forehead, "I'm a vegetarian. I don't drink human blood, just animal blood. Hence the hunting trips." I sighed in relief. So the guy can't kill me because he refuses to. Good.
"So, I guess Vampires did move into Spoons."
"Yeah, me, Blaise, and Pansy's family were here for generations, even when your mom was here. She knows about me, about my father." He told me. I wasn't surprised.
"That's my mom for you. She obsessively searches for the truth." He chuckles

"You're so mine. Aren't you." He stares down at me, hoping that this isn't a dream. I took his chin in my hands, pulling him down to my lips.
"I guess I am," I said before giving a peck on his lips.

The school was weird. I drove in his top-down Volvo. I was wearing the necklace charm that Cho gave me. But I let my hair down and only wore clear glasses. He has his arm around me as he drove with his right arm. He was grinning like a lovestruck idiot. He guided me out of his car like a princess stepping out of a carousel and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. Probably intended on having everyone know who I belonged to. Everyone looked at us, probably wondering how I got the school's most mysterious man to date me. Trust me, I'm not sure myself.  I can't help his possessive tendencies anyways. Cho and Cedric looked at me with shocked and worried eyes.
"Oh, no-no. This isn't happening." Cedric reached for me as Draco hid me behind him. "Don't you dare Cedric" He seethed. Cho went to Cedrics' side to calm him down.
"C'mon Ced, Draco's not going to hurt her." Cedric only scoffed. "Mercy, everything he touches turns to dust, and being with him will risk your life. You, me, and Cho know who he is." He took my hands in his hands, Draco snarled but I stopped him from doing anything. I kept him from advancing further by putting my hand on his chest. Hoping that it calms him. It does as his mad expression melted into a gentle one. God this guy melts at my touch.
"Just be careful, and reach out to us for help." I gave him a small smile.
"Alright, Ceddy." Draco wrapped his arm around my wrist and gave me a deep kiss on my cheek. He guided me from my friends as he glared daggers at Cedric.

"Jesus, he might as well go and marry you." He grumbled. "He's dating Cho, and besides, they only want the best for me." He sighed, trying to curb his jealous tendencies.
"I want the best for you too." He kissed the side of my head. He likes doing that. Kissing me. He kisses me in English while I'm reading the passages. Speaking of English.

"Now, you will act out one of the scenes from Romeo and Juliet. The scenes that you are reading right now are the scenes you'll reenact." We looked at each other. This was pretty ironic considering the circumstances but he only grinned in mischief. What is he going to do?

---

I was sitting with Cho and Cedric. "Aren't you going to sit with the dark group?" Cedric asked. I shrugged. "Just because I'm dating Draco doesn't mean I have to abandon you guys." They smiled at each other. Draco sat next to me. He snaked his hands into my hands, gripping them tightly. I looked up at him.
"I just want to get to know you and your friends." I melted at that gesture as I leaned against his arm. He chuckled to himself as he pet the top of my head.
"So Cedric, what do you want to be when you grow up?" He asked a generic question but can get anyone going.
"I want to be a rugby player. I got a scholarship and me and Cho are going to London University." He bragged. I smiled, glad that everything is going right with them.
"How about you, Mercy?" Cedric asked. I thought for a moment. What do I want to be? "I want to be a 1st-grade homeroom teacher. I love teaching kids. Or a Criminal Psychologist to follow in my mother's footsteps!" I beamed.

Draco

Children? She likes children. Little does she know, I plan on having a small family with her. I want her to have twin boys and for us to have a small cottage in a forest. I want to teach the boys how to hunt, and how to play. I want her with me till the end of time. So... I'll have to turn her, right? She'll have to marry me as soon as she can and I'll turn her. But I don't know if she'd want me to.  I don't want to curse her for an eternity of life. But it's an eternity for us.

So what's so wrong with that? What's so wrong with not wanting her to die in a hospital bed? What's so wrong with envisioning me and her during our honeymoon?

She is mine after all.

All mine.
