Runaway
Charlie looked at the passed out creature before them, hesitantly adjusting the chains to fit properly.
He wasn’t supposed to find a supposedly dead species, it was supposed to be a yearly report on the migrations of dragons.
He could still remember the shock he felt when he first saw the creature, he mistook it for a fellow wizard that shamelessly displaying magic, he was going to report the kid to the proper authorities until he saw the dogs chasing them.
It didn’t occur to him that he wasn’t saving a fellow wizard instead saving an Extinct species until he actually got a good look at it.
Thankfully the poor thing passed out quickly after their first meeting making moving him to a proper facility much easier.
“Mr. Weasley” he turned towards Dr. Broker.
The doctors eyes zeroed in on the creature laying before him “how is he”
“I don’t know doctor, he hasn’t woken up yet but I’m making sure he’s secured enough” Charlie quickly went back to work.
“Your lucky you got to him in time, we found some other bodies nearby but sadly were to torn up by those monsters so we couldn’t get a chance to study them and give them a proper rest.”
“According to books demigods age similarly to humans with a few exceptions does that mean the bodies-“
“Sadly nature is a cruel world be it magic or not” the doctor emotionlessly said.
Charlie fell quiet, he knew that but he couldn’t help compare the young demigod in front of him to his younger self, he paled at that though.
The doctor just sighed at him, a step beside him to help “if we don’t find a colony to transfer him to it’s probably best to keep him here”
“Most magical creature prefer bring wild”
“Yes and most magical creatures haven’t been believed to be dead for over hundreds of years so we can’t risk him by releasing him early or without a colony”
The two fell silent after that, the bindings were properly adjusted and the two step back, Charlie felt a hand on his shoulder “let’s go he should wake up in a couple of hours.”
The red head let himself be guided away ignorant to the fact the demigod woke up midway though their conversation.
•Tim’s Pov•
To say Tim was freaking out was an understatement, he only managed to catch the end of the conversation between to wizard weirdos but he certainly wasn’t going to stick around to hear more.
‘Keep him here’ won’t be happening if he gets a say in it, he almost flinch when the red head referred to him as a creature, not a human but a creature.
Keeping his breathing calm while he ‘played dead’ was hard after that statement. He needed to get out of here or at least warn camp.
Currently his only advantage he has is that they thinks he’ll be out for a couple of hours, silently praying to his father that these mortals don’t have cameras on him, he quietly opening his eyes.
Looking around he took in his surroundings, room looks plain, door has complicated symbols on it (he can assume it’s locked) no windows, plain bed on the floor, a med kit of the side of him and chains on both his wrist and ankles.
All and all his quest had gone to hades and he’s gonna pull a jackson and cuss out the fates if this luck continues.
Moving as silently as he could he observed his chains, they were weird, no lock just solid metal with symbols engraved in, mist swirled around it in a heavy cloud.
Looking closer he could see a weak point in the surrounding mist on the cuffs, near the back on the the symbols has a dint in its letters.
Curiously he tried to touch it, on instinct he tried swatting away the mist a hole in the mist formed, he grabbed the exposed metal and yanked.
Suddenly the symbols glowed and the chain fail off of him.
Well guess his epic escaped got a whole lot easier.
All of his chains had a problem in either the engravings or metal, the mist almost seemed mad at the pathetic display of its power and if he was a child of Hecate he would agree, but he’s not so he really doesn’t care about the mist’s opinion at the moment.
Instead he was more inclined to getting the hades out of here, standing before the door he quickly found one of many, MANY mistakes.
Like seriously if he was a child of Hecate he would be so offended right now.
Silent halls greeted him while he walked out, his captors seemed to think he wouldn’t escape, well he did.
Yes he felt smug about it, and yes he can brag.
The first room in the hall held most of his stuff, sadly no ambrosia (probably taken out to be studied) a couple of his coins were missing too but he only needs one.
Strapping on his knife and grabbing two coins he went to find his next objective.
A rainbow.
Or running water would be a cooler description.
Sadly the hallway was skinny and left no room to properly hide, it will also most likely open up to a bigger space were his captors will be.
And all he could do was walk into the metaphorical ‘lions den’, he cursed the fates while he walked forwards, they knew he wasn’t another Percy Jackson or Jason Grace hades he’s not even a Annabeth Chase, he’s got no super powerful powers or intelligence that could rival Athena, instead all he has is a knife, dead quest mates, questionable humor and trauma.
How the hades did he even get here, this kinda stuff happens to the seven not him.
Steeling himself when he reached the main room, he peaked around the corner, the main roomed seemed to be a cafeteria of some sort, at the table was at least 20 wizards, a kitchen in the back, which probably means a sink.
Thankfully they all seemed gathered around a single table in the middle, some chairs an tables could cover him.
He was already well on his way towards the kitchen when something seemed to catch his attention.
“We might expand the search out of Florida to try to find the colony”
Oh his father, their going to try to find the camp.
He hurried towards the kitchen practically flinging himself in.
Rushing towards the sink, the currently freaking out son of Apollo Silently celebrated when he realized it was one of those fancy’s kitchen sinks that allows mist to form.
Thank gods for rich people.
A strained smile formed on his face when he saw the rainbow form in the mist.
Taking a coin out he whispered “Oh Iris, goddess of the Rainbow, please accept my offering, please show me Chiron”
When the mist formed to show the old Centaur, Tim didn’t even try to hold back the tears when he saw everyone’s unofficial father figure, the man looked tired and seemed to have gained more gray hairs, he watched as his teachers eyes lit up upon seeing his face.
“Tim my dear boy we were worried when you and your team didn’t report in or return-“
He didn’t mean to start full on bawling when he heard Chiron’s voice, he made a high pitch noise cutting the director off, he did his best to pull himself together, but it was hard enough trying to breath let alone stop crying.
“Chiron” he finally manage to get out “Chiron their dead and I’m captured by these weird wizard people and they wanna try to find camp and I’m scared and all I want is to go home” he took quick breaths, trying to look like a presentable son of Apollo but he generally couldn’t.
And Chiron just gave him a sad look, but the Centaur made no move to try to rush him, so he took a deep breath and finally manage to give a proper report.
“Both of my quest mated are dead, I was trying to escape because our info was wrong there was a massive increase of both land and water monsters in Florida, I almost died too but some wizard people with sticks saved me but I passed out in the process, they captured me and took me with them but I manage to escape because their magic is subpar, I’m still in the facility but I manage to overhear that the wizards seems to be trying to find the camps.”
Chiron just gave him a reassuring smile “ don’t worry Tim, I’ll inform both Joy’s and Gabe’s siblings of their deaths, now do you know where you are”
Tim could almost give a smile, no matter what he could trust Chiron to be calm about this matter “no, I didn’t get a chance to find out”
“Do they know you’ve escaped”
“Not at the moment”
“Ok that’s good, Tim I need you to try to escape the facility and find out where you are, once you do please contact me again and I’ll send someone to come get you”
All he could do was nod, Chiron gave him one last reassuring smile before he ended the Iris message.
Taking a deep breath he blindly took two steps back accidentally tripping over a box in the process, he landed right on a rack causing it to fall over.
He watched in horror as it fell down. Suddenly the empty kitchen began to fill with 20 armed(with wands) wizards all looking at him in shock.
Spotting a door on the other side of the kitchen, he began running full speed towards the door, hoping to the gods this wasn’t a random closet.
