Death

Tim was an idiot, and at this rate a soon dead idiot.

He thought he was old enough at thirteen (gods he’s gonna die at thirteen) to take on a quest.

The quest was seemingly simple, a scouting quest, they were sent to check in on the sudden change of behavior of the monsters in the sea of monsters.

They didn’t even have to go into the triangle all they had to do was watch from the sidelines.

Joy was the first to go, she didn’t see the Empousa attack her from behind.

Once the daughter of Demeter fell his other quest mate wasn’t far behind.

Gabe had died sacrificing himself to protect him, Gabe was the oldest turning fourteen a couple weeks ago, because of his age he became quest leader, until he wasn’t, until his head was ripped off his body by a pack of hell hounds.

The same hellhounds now chasing him though the streets of Miami, his hometown.

He took a sharp turn, the only thing keeping him alive right now was the fact he knows these streets, he grew up here, he knows every twist and turn Miami brings him.

The only problem is the fact hellhounds can sniff him out.

He hides, they find, he runs, they chase.

It’s like a game for them at this point, and they won’t let up, given the size of the pack he wouldn’t be able to take them on in a fight either.

At first he didn’t pay much attention to the man dressed in black robes, which would be weird but Tim wasn’t trying to die so he didn’t care, until more and more of the weird robes kept showing up.

They kept pointing at him and at the dogs as if they understood what was happening, which would be wrong unless they were clear sighted.

He was so distracted by the strange robes characters and his soon to be death he didn’t see the ball rolling in front of him.

Falling face first he tried to quickly get up, but the hellhounds were upon him.

The mutt was just about to send him straight to Hades until a blinding light hit the hound head on.

He turned to see the cult robes pointing sticks at the dogs.

Ten robes versus three hellhounds, judging by their scrawny arms they wouldn’t put up much of a fight.

Using the distraction he quickly put distance between him and the monsters.

But the dogs don’t seem that interested in him, instead the seemed to like the idea of the stickies dying by their teeth.

He knew he can’t abandon them here to die, first off that was rude and secondly when they die the mutts would track him down even if he manages to escape now.

Plus he wanted revenge for Gabe.

He notice a construction sight beside him, looking up he could see a crane above him lifting some building supplies.

Running towards he thanked the gods the operator left the keys, turning the thing on he suddenly stopped staring at the random levers and buttons.

How do you operate on of these things?

Hearing shouting he looked to see his saviors screaming below him.

The hellhounds are gaining ground and the robes seemed rightfully scared.

Sending a prayer to his father he pulled the closest lever.

He heard a strange clicking noise until finally the crane let go of its burden.

Pullers of wood and metal fell straight onto the monsters below. When the smoke cleared instead of dust the hounds remains stayed.

Many thoughts ran though his head, how was he alive, who are these weirdos, and why did the monsters not turn to dust.

His adrenaline finally crash, falling to his knees he looked up towards his saviors.

He looked at their weird clothes, the way the mist Swirled around them in a more tamed and structured way, and finally he stared at the stick that glows, or was it a wand, he tried not to stare to long instead was more focus on keeping his blood inside of him, sadly he didn’t inherit his father healing powers.

But his ADHD brain kept asking questions, what were they doing here, not that he doesn’t mind the help, where did the come from, why the robes?

Unknown to the demigod the wizards seemed to be taking in the creature before them, it looked human but the way it’s eyes glow and it’s hair shine with a dazzling light.

The way magic seemed to bounce off of it creating a intimidating aura, it’s as if magic itself created the creature. They also notice the slight glow in its blood, it had the usual red blood but if you look closer you could see hints of gold.

At that moment both wizard and demigod had the same thought ‘what are you?’

•Harry’s pov•

“Harry, Harry slow down I need to show you this.” Ron’s voice cut though the usually quiet hallway.

Harry turned towards the redheads voice. “Ron what’s going on”

“Look” Ron proceeded to proudly show off he daily Prophet. Harry deciding to humor his friend began to read out loud “A new species was discovered in North America, many believe this new creature is actually the ancient and believed extinct demigods, who disappeared near the end of the Roman Empire, more and more evidence supporting this theory is coming out, many political leaders-“

“Not that Harry, look who discovered it”

“This discovery was found by a dragon research team, lead by Charlie Weasley.” He burst out into a smile.

“Congratulations the Weasley name is famous”

“I know right Charlie’s even coming home earlier than planned, I think he made a fortune after this discovery” the two began to walk towards the great hall.

When they finally sat down Harry couldn’t help but notice everyone reading the article, bumping his shoulder towards Ron he gestured towards everyone.

He tried not to laugh at his friends sudden smug look.
