Dragons.POV

I smooth out the wrinkles in my lapis blue robe, the silk feeling soft against the palm of my hand. I had been waiting for this day since I found out the existence of Hogwarts. It was and still is my dream to be one of the best students to have ever attended. I have promised myself that I shall not stray away from such dreams and become a dishonourable pure blood such as my father.

A small bag sat on my desk, it was a satchel embossed with the finest design. It had been magically enchanted by my mother to hold way more than it looks, I do believe the spell is Capacious extremis if my memory serves me correctly. I pick it up and carefully set it on my shoulder, I don't want to mess up my newly smoothed robes.

My door bursts open Theodosia was a complete exited mess, a 'child, as my mother had called her, even though I am quite certain Theodosia is in fact a child.

"Lets go" she boomed.

"Be quite" I hissed in return my head had already begun pounding. She jogs up to me and grabs my sleeve wrinkling it, that little vermin. She practically drags me out of my room and I can swear I hear her teeth chattering in excitement. Is that normal? I will look it up later.

She takes me through the winding halls. I had realised she had took a few wrong turns a while back but in spite had 'forgotten' to tell her such fact.

Theodosia turns to me with big doe eyes just after we had opened the door to one of the potion rooms, the col had hit us instantly and goose bumps now coated our bodies. "Malfoy" she says in the most endearing way "Where are we?" she questions.

I shake my head dismissively and walk over to the large storage cabinets hanging over an alchemy set. Luckily for her we had to be down here. I had to grab a stool to reach the green powder that was sat on the second shelf but it was not to much of a hindrance.

"Come along Theodosia" I instruct. This time it is me in the lead as Theodosia skips happily besides me.

We made our way to the smallest fore room, of which we don't mind getting a little floo dust on the carpet.

"Now Theodosia, the floo network is a complicated system, do you understand, and so you must be very careful in what you say, make sure to say it loud, yes." I inform. I myself had only used the floo network a handful of times but my miniscule experience had stuck with me all these years and so I thought my knowledge may be of little use to Theodosia.

"Gakry" She called. The house elf appeared with a poof of smoke. Theodosia giggled. I had not seen her act so much like a child since she was in nappies.

Gakry and Theodosia went first and they seemed to get to there destination whole, no spare limbs had fallen into the pit of logs below.

I follow gulping, silently willing myself to keep my breakfast in my stomach this time. My mother wasn't best pleased when I emptied out on my Aunties new hippogriff rug.

I kneeled over in the Leaky Cauldron. Many looked my way but most turned back to the alcohol beverages they held in hand.

"Gakry, bucket please" I say hurriedly. Quickly a bucket is handed to me from merlin knows where and I am already hauling up my sausage and eggs from earlier this morning.

I now had nothing let in me and sat clutching my stomach on one of the benches of the run down pub. Theodosia sat next to me complaining about the wait and wailing "can we go now" over and over again. I can't say I don't blame her as it is also my first time going out for anything but a funeral.

"Give me a moment to recover and refill my stomach Theodosia, an empty stomach is dangerous" I remind her. She sighs defiantly.

Eventually we compromised on me having a bit longer of a wait in the Leaky Cauldron than originally anticipated and in return Theodosia can have 3 ice-cream scoops of her choice. I had to agree on one condition that she would not tell mother under any circumstances of me getting ill or her getting ice-cream.

Gakry had just taken Theodosia to the bathroom and I was left on my own.

The door to the Leaky Cauldron barges open. A women around 40 with a huge mess of blond curly hair stormed in, quickly followed by a much smaller boy. The boy looked outlandish compared to the hoard of witches and wizards crowding the small pub. The women walked over to the counter and started an excitable conversation with the bartender.

The boy looked around curiously and I couldn't help but stare at him. He wore old clothing slightly battered and way to big for his slim frame. He had dark brown hair that curled at the ends giving him a comical 1970s muggle hairstyle.

Our eyes caught each other but instead of looking away I used this time to study the rest of him, out of pure curiosity. He had a long button nose that stopped halfway up his forehead and eyebrows that had begun to overgrow into a slight monobrow. There were faint freckles dotting his nose, that I am sure would get much darker in summer, and moles covered the other areas of his face.

He seemed so full. Every inch of his face had a new detail to explore, every section of his hair seemed to be at different lengths and texture. Even his body which was engulfed in the huge clothes seemed to have a new kink or feature at each section, one of which caught my eyes, a small but prominent scar on his arm, an odd purple colour but not that of which a bruise.

He then stuck his tongue out at me his face scrunching like a piece of parchment that you wanted to throw away. I recoiled slightly at such repulsive behaviour but choose to scowl back, a much easier and presentable way to show distaste.

The blonde women turns back around to the boy now holding a paper bag. She grabbed his wrist gently and tugged for him to follow. He does with out much question.

I take some time to recover from such encounter before I was interrupted by Theodosia. "Come on Malfoy, I want my ice-cream" she exclaimed.

I lift myself from my chair still feeling slightly dizzy.

We first go to 'Madam Malcom's robes for all occasions' where I pick up my robe measurements. Theodosia said that if I was so confident in becoming a Slytherin I should simply order the Slytherin robes to save effort. I told her with the back up of Madam Malcom herself that first years where only allowed to buy plain robes just in case.

The next shop we visit is 'Flourish and Blots' The shop I was most looking forward to.

Inside you saw no wall instead books covered every inch of the shop. Even the photo frames consisted of pages of books, most of them being yellowed and frail held together by only the glass. I pick up all the school books I need checking the list at least 5 times before I was sure.

I also managed to sneak a few more books onto the counter while Theodosia was busy with a moving picture pop-up book. I knew that if she saw she would snitch and I would be left explaining why I needed such appalling books as muggle studies for simple pleasure.

The main reason I didn't want her finding out is because I'm not quite sure I know the answer. I had no interest in such despicable studies 3 days ago. Maybe it was as simple as wanting to understand some of my classmates better, considering some of them will be mud blood.

My mother says they were born like that because someone down the line a long time ago someone became impure and impregnated a muggle. I however disagree and don't blame it on the family at all. Of course I will never agree with letting impurity into Hogwarts, such a prestige school, however I do not think we should shun those who have unfortunate birth circumstances.

I had gotten my wand for my 9th birthday and so we did not have to get one of those. Much to Theodosia's delight, she wanted to get ice-cream as soon as possible.

On our way to 'Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour' we walked past Ollivanders, the shop stuffed with first years. Squeezing out of the crowed was the strange boy I saw in the Leaky Cauldron. His hair now stuck up in all directions and was black and frazzled at the ends. He was covered from head to toe in black sut and now wielded a ridiculously long wand, at least 13 inches.

He placed it into his belt, holding up his oversized trousers, like a sword in it's scabbed. He then ruffled his hair sending black embers everywhere. The blond haired women squeezed through the crowed now holding out a tiny sack of what I presume coins. He takes it gratefully before looking around.

I divert my eyes quickly. "Come along now Malfoy what are you looking at" Theodosia asked slightly annoyed at my staling.

We finish our trip to Diagon Ally with an ice-cream cone with chocolate flake.

That night I lay in bed still awake and buzzing with excitement. Hogwarts was only a week away and even though I had willed myself to not get to thrilled it did not stop my mind going of on a tangent.

Now the trip to Diagon Ally was over it all seemed so real. I was finally going to Hogwarts.

I now decided to give up on sleeping and took to my desk. My new books sat on the table neatly stacked into two piles. One fore school supplies and the other for enjoyment. I lift a book on curses to revile a muggle studies book hidden meticulously under it.

I sit on the large purple armchair next to my window. I rarely read this late into the night and having change of lighting was quite pleasant.

I open the book to the index scanning for anything that catches my eye. On page 46 was 'The study of Muggle clothing and the long history'.

I decide on this page and snuggle down comfortable into the armchair.

Reading about such clothing made me realise that the odd boy I saw today may have been a muggle. I shake my head at the thought, such a weird boy. I'm sure my mother would never approve of me even setting eyes on such a disgrace.

My mind drifted to my future at Hogwarts. I had now fully decided on a plan and had just begun to write it down into list format.

First year would go as followed:

1. Get into Slytherin (Easy enough)

2. Make pureblood friends

3. Become top student in potions and transfiguration.

It was as simple as that and I knew it would go as such. I already knew quite a few purebloods from gatherings held by my mother and was sure that most if not all would end up in Slytherin.

I had wondered what would happen if I happened to not be in Slytherin. Of course first I would have to deal with my mother, I would expect at least 7 howlers and a letter putting me in care of my birth father. I am sure, however, that it is near impossible for me to be in anything other than Slytherin.

I wonder what house the boy from the Leaky Cauldron will be sorted into. From his looks I would guess Hufflepuff or Gryffindor, he looked too stupid to be in Ravenclaw or Slytherin.

I smack myself on the head. I need to stop thinking of that boy otherwise he is going to turn into more trouble than it is worth.

From now on I added a new point to the list:

4. Avoid that weird boy at all cost.
