"Damn it Severus, where the hell are you" She muttered to herself. She had been searching all over hogwarts for Severus but was unsuccessful.
She walked off towards the owlery, it was the only place she hadn't checked yet. Once there she stood in front of the entrance to the owlery "Please Severus be here" She mumbled to herself.
She opened the door to the owlery and sighed in relief when she caught sight of her best friend petting an owl. She walked over to him and gently tapped his shoulder. Severus jumped in surprised and turned around ready to hex whoever it was.
He let out a sigh as he realized it was Lily "Hi Lily...." He muttered out. "Sev, are you alright? You ran out of the library after reading the letter" She stated in a worry tone. Severus looked away "I'm fine..." He muttered.
Lily pursed her lips together, she knew full well that he wasn't fine. She stepped closer to him and slowly wrapped her arms around him in a hug. Severus froze but quickly recovered from her actions. He stayed silent and laid his head on her shoulder.
They both stayed like that for a while in complete silence.
"Mary says she likes me...." Severus mumbled against Lily's shoulder after several minutes. Lily looked at him and stroked his hair "And how does that make you feel?" She asked softly.
Severus shrugged "I don't know" He muttered softly "She's probably lying about it tho..." He added. Lily frowned and continued to stroke his hair "I highly doubt that, you should go talk to her" She stated, Severus stepped back a bit and shook his head.
"Oh no, I'm not gonna do that" He said, Lily frowned "Oh c'mon Sev" She started to say before an idea popped into her head "I got an idea!" She shouted out. Severus simply stared at her in confusion "You are going to speak to Mary but worry not I'll be here just not insight" She said and Severus stayed silent so she continued.
"I'll tell Mary to meet you here in the owlery, and while you two talk I'll be outside waiting and making sure no one comes around to interrupt you guys" She said happily. Severus let out a sigh and shock his head "Alright fine, but only because I know you'll keep pushing for me to talk to her" He stated in annoyance.
Lily beamed and hugged her best friend "Perfect, I'll tell her to you meet you here tomorrow night after dinner okay?" Severus simply nodded in response.
The pair exited the owlery and made their way back to their respected houses. Severus silently prayed to merlin that tomorrow didn't come.
