Chapter 1
"Are you sure this will work?"
"I'm absolutely positive, will you relax"
Mary glared at her friend "How on earth am I gonna relax when I'm planning to confess to my crush!!" She said in a panicked state.
Lily simply smiled "Listen, it's gonna be fine. Look all you're gonna do is hand him the letter you wrote expressing your feelings for him" She said "And once you give it to him you walk away and wait for his response" She added.
Mary shook her head and placed her hands over her face "What if he doesn't respond..." She muttered.
"Oh that won't happen, because once you give him the letter and walk away I'll head inside, go up to him like I didn't know he was there, and just bug him about it" Lily said confidently while her friend sat on the ground leaning against the wall right next to the entrance to the library. The place where a certain black haired Slytherin currently resides.
Mary looked back at her friend "What if he hides it before you get a chance to see it?" She questioned. Lily sighed softly, she will not allow her friend to back out of this. "Look if I know sev, and I do, is that he'll come to me for advice on what to do even if I don't see the letter" She spoke as she knelt down in front of Mary and placed a hand on her shoulder.
Mary looked unsure but quickly shook her head. She had to do this, she was a gryffindor and she won't let her fear get in the way of her confessing to her crush. She quickly stood up and took in a deep breath before entering the library.
She walked over to where Severus was sitting. She held the letter close to her chest and gently tapped his shoulder. Severus swatted away at the her hand without looking. He continued working on several assignments he had for class.
Mary frowned and tapped his shoulder once more with a little more force "Severus Snape" She spoke out loud inorder to get his attention. Severus sighed and glanced up to whoever was calling for his attention.
Before he could say anything, a letter was shoved in his face "Uhhh..."
"Here for you" Mary said
Severus took hold of the letter and once again before he could say a word, Mary leaned forward and placed a chasted kiss on his cheek. She quickly made her way out of the library, her face had become bright red and she refused to allow him see it.
Severus simply sat there in complete shock. His mind still trying to process what on earth just happened. He was snapped out of his trance when he felt a hand on his shoulder which had startled him. He quickly turned around and let out a sigh of relief when he saw that it was only Lily.
"Hey Sev" She said happily "What's got your face all red?" She questioned as she poked his cheek. "Nothing" He responded as he swatted her hand away. Lily simply giggled and sat down next to next.
"So I guess whatever is in your hand is nothing too" She commented while pointing at the letter he still held. Severus couldn't stop his face from heating up again in embarassment. Why he felt embarassed? He had no idea.
He shook his head "I don't know what this is" He spoke softly. Lily tilted her head in fake confusion "It looks like a letter, you should open it and see what it says" She stated "Who gave it to you anyways?" She asked.
Severus thought for a moment, debating whether or not to tell her who exactly gave him the letter. "It was Mary" He said finally after some time. He figured she would know eventually given that she was friends with Mary. Plus Lily could help him out with whatever the letter said.
Lily let out a fake gasp "Mary MacDonald?" She questioned, Severus simply nodded, She smiled "Oooo!! Maybe it's a love letter!! She once mentioned confessing to her crush via letter" She stated excitedly while clinging to his arm.
His face turned bright red and he tried to push Lily away "That's ridiculous as if she- or anyone for that matter have a crush on me" Lily pulled back and frowned at his statement. "That is completely untrue! I can guarantee you that there are people out there who have a crush on you or had one" She stated.
Severus looked at her as if she was crazy and began to laugh "Yeah right" He said as he calmed down a bit. Lily crossed her arms and glared at him "It's true!!" She shouted out. This resulted in Madam Pince coming over to them and telling them to be quiet least she'd kick them out of the library.
Both Severus and Lily quickly apologize and only until Madam Pince had left did they begin to talk again.
"I seriously doubt it"
"Oh yeah, read the letter then"
Severus raised an eyebrow but he decided to listen to her. He opened up the letter and began to read it. With each sentence he read he couldn't help but be in shock. His face began to heat up far more then it had the last few times.
Lily smirked as she watched her best friend read the letter Mary had given him. She leaned into his shoulder feeling complete smug "So~" She said smugly "Do you believe me now~" She added
Severus complete ignored her and kept rereading the letter in his hands. This simply couldn't be...It had to be some prank right? There's no way someone could like him.....the only person that could like him was Lily but even then he firmly believed she only tolerated and not like.
So to have someone say that they have a crush on him was something he couldn't believe in. The smugness on Lily's face quickly faded when she noticed a tear form in Severus's eye. "Sev? Are you ok?" She spoke gently, she placed a hand on his shoulder but once she did she wished she didn't.
Severus quickly stood up, which startled Lily, and ran out of the library. He didn't bother to collect his things and headed off to God knows where.
Lily was in shock at his reaction. She quickly gathered up his things and ran after him. Did he really have a hard time believing that anyone could like him? She shook her head 'No time to think about that, right now I gotta find him before anyone else does' She thought. She then began thinking of places in which Severus would go to.
'First place, the astronomy tower' She thought and quickly made her way there.
