Izuku’s real dad was Candypop

“Round and round the mulberry bush, the fox chases the weasel,” a young girl sang as she sat in the back seat of his mother’s car. She clapped in time with the song and swung her legs merrily. Her long fluffy magenta tipped blue hair swayed in the wind of the open window. Today was the Quirk exam his mother scheduled!~ the best day of his life!~ just one step closer to becoming a Hero!~

“I’m sorry but… your daughter has two joints in her pinkie toe,” the doctor sighed, “it’s very uncommon for children to be born like this, but it still happens in every corner of the world.”

“I… can’t… be a hero?” The child asked with tears in her eyes.

“The Quirkless are ill suited for such things. You would be better off doing something more practical like Police Work or being a teacher,” he sighed.

The mother looked ashamed… as if she blamed herself for birthing a Quirkless child.

“Do you and your husband have quirks?” The doctor asked.

“Yes… I have a quirk that lets me attract small objects… and her father… well… it’s complicated…” she sighed, “I only met him once… and I hardly remember him… not even what his quirk was… I just remember that striking hair of his…”

He nodded along, “well it’s obvious your child has inherited that aspect, but I fear a pigment quirk is still hardly anything at all. It’ll merely make her a larger target if she tried to become a hero.”

The ride home was silent… only the tick tick tick of the turn signal and the clicks of the Shift Stick resounded In the quiet car. The house was just as silent… Tragedy filled the little girl as she walked up the stairs with her head hung low. Soon the sound of a familiar video filled the air. It played over and over again as laughter rang in the air. Pompous some may call him, but until now this figure was the only one to help Izuku keep striving forward.

Half way through the third run through of the video an add played…

A catchy jingle… encouraging people to buy their products since half the proceedings went to supporting heroes with equipment… and showing off what the product they are selling was. A phone evidently. Yet… it struck her…

“Could I… help heroes?” She asked softly as she watched the commercial.

New sounds filled the house as the child clicked on a different video, this one about support gear. And another, and another, and yet another!

A tentative smile grew on her lips, “I… can be a Hero’s hero?” She said softly.

When her mother checked on her, the child grinned brightly at her, “I’m Gonna Be a Hero! A Hero to Heroes!~” she said confidently.

The mother stumbled into the room, then rushed over and hugged Her beloved child, “I’m so sorry! I’m sorry Toshiya!” She cried out loud and oh so heartbreaking, “It’s All My Fault!” Oh so many words fell from her lips as she apologized for everything. Tears fell in long rivers from her eyes.

Toshiya had no clue what to do as she was held by her crying mother. Why was she crying? Why was she apologizing so much?

Toshiya was a passionate child, who always kept a smile on her lips. She always wore her home made blue backpack even if it was rather heavy. It was filled to the brim with her notebooks and laptop. Her long azure hair was tied up in a ponytail… and riddled with writing utensils. They were randomly scattered throughout her hair with little chance of finding all of them even with the help of a comb! And for a Quirkless Child she was a fast little girl, as evident by how she was running away from a villain right now.

Behind her was a truly ferocious looking beast almost Boar like in shape. It was at least Three meters tall, completely covered in dark matted fur. It had 3 sets of legs, the extra set providing extra momentum as it ran. On its face were two long tusks, for which it was using to rend the earth and send trees flying as it charges. It’s fur was matted as if it had just killed someone on its tusks and didn’t care if it was covered in blood. A person the child had seen it kill.

That wasn’t what it wanted her for though… no what it wanted was the notebooks in her backpack. “GIVE ME THAT BACKPACK AND I‘LL MAKE YOUR DEATH QUICK!” The beast cried out as it continued to chase the girl. The girl didn’t even reply, knowing wasting air would be the death of her.

As they ran though, the forest seemed to… change… the Towering red cedar trees were slowly thinning out and instead there were dark dead trees thick and looming. A creeping mist flowed in, becoming thicker the deeper they went.

The boar was relentless though and chased her Evermore. Toshiya made a split second decision and turned, hoping the boar wouldn’t notice her change of route. Behind her the boar ran and ran, charging in a straight line. It didn’t even begin to turn and continued running past where the child had turned!

She slowed to a stop as she listened to the beast running… then the sound of the beast thudding against a hard surface… and the sound of something piercing flesh… blood splatter…

She wasted no time running the way she came. The sound of the beast being taken apart sounded behind her all the way out of the Misty forest.

When she was finally out she collapsed on the mossy ground just out of the reach of the mist. She looked back to the forest, gasping for breath…

Yet when she had finally caught her breath… something caught her eye… there among the fallen needles was something shining in the light of the setting sun. She cautiously crept over and picked up the object… only to find it was a necklace? She turned it to and fro curiously. It was a simple O with an X through it, on a simple black chord.

Toshiya hummed, taking it off the chord and putting it on one of the zippers of her backpack. She smiled softly as she ran home.
