The One Remaining Relative mha - khr

Izuku was born in Japan heavily influenced by America. Up to and including following their trend for public Quirk use.

So long as a person bought a license and could show their use wouldn’t cause public harm or damage, they could use their Quirk as they pleased.

His father may be an absent figure in his and his mother’s lives but their lives are… comfortable. There might not be money for to many extras but they have a place to live, enough food for them both and a little bit for emergencies.
His mother works but not long hours.
And Izuku has several after-school/ holiday jobs.

His best friend is the fiery Katsuki who once had an explosion Quirk but an envious classmate sicced his brother’s gang on the then seven-year-old and they shattered his arms rendering his Quirk near useless as, even healed, his arms no longer had the strength to support his explosion strength.
One had to be amputated.

They were brought down and the Bakugou’s, no small fish in the fashion sea, prosecuted the hell out of them. Even so this still left their only child crippled and spiraling into depression.

Izuku, whose Quirk had come in late and trauma-activated to keep Bakugo from suicide, wasn’t having it. NO. Fucking. Way!

If Izuku had to live with the utter bullshit slung in his direction due to being ‘Quirkless’ or rather unexpressed, the Bakugo could man the FUCK up, get back on his own damn feet and MAKE something of himself.
So Heroism won’t be the easy ride it once might have been. So what, if Bakugo is willing to let that stop him, he’s not the prideful bastard Izuku called friend once upon a time…
Is Katsuki going to let himself be even weaker than Izuku was, pre-Quirk Activate?
Well. IS HE?

Katsuki is NOT. He’s NOT fuckin’ weak! This… might be even better. This way if he fuckin’ gets in it’ll be because he DESERVES it. ‘Cause he fuckin WORKED for it…
Yeah… this’ll be just like when he learned his Quirk was going to wreck his hearing. He was going to work through it, learning the best ways to manage it and move on… and he fuckin’ WOULD!

Izuku… who had just lost his mother, wasn’t going to stand for this either.

It wasn’t the Bakugos who had taken him though. No, it was a very, very old and distant relative. As in nearly two hundred years old… AND he was English!
(A Wizard too but no one else had to know about that. It was a hidden and now dying ability from thousands of years before the dawn of Quirks.)

He wasn’t a direct relative. No, Izuku and his mum were from a cousin’s line.
In memory of the cousin he’d been raised with, the barely middle-aged looking man he stepped up for Izuku.

Katsuki and Izuku were still raised together, more or less and, like Izuku, Harry, the man he lived with now, was an orphan. They had very similar backstories really. It was sort of creepy.

-

Like him, Harry had had a distant relative (Great Grand Uncle in his case) step up for him.

His mum’s dad, Edwardo Evens was the son of his brother, the then head of their much reduced but ancient Welsh Clan.
(Edwardo was named by his mother, for the brother who simply disappeared one day in their teens.
She was Sicilian. His second name, Cadwallader, was Welsh as a nod to his heritage.)

Eddie’s Da’s efforts to find his own, much, much younger socially oblivious geni of a brother got him in trouble and then got him killed, forcing Laurencio, now under the name of Verde, to step up.
He met his great nieces, Petunia and Lily Evens once to confirm them as clan and family.

Lily has the Eyes of their line but something other than their Clan Ability (Lightning Flames) and Petunia seems to have inherited nothing.

She and Lily are only half sisters as Eddie’s first wife disappeared only to have her own niece turn up, looking for family.

Little Nana was Japanese and barely sixteen, but she DID have the Family Gift, though low-level and nearly inactive.
There was the faintest tinge of green to her hair but nothing more.

It was only when a Clan member had both the Family Gift AND what Lily had (the English called it ‘Magic’) that the signs of the Eyes AND the Hair were stained with the colour of the Family Gift.

Verde HAD once had Magic but his Flames had taken over when he fell into a near-deadly fever before he could ever receive his Letter for Magic School.
That they HAD been active and his Gift of Lightning Flames was particularly strong was why both his hair and his eyes were a near acid green.

Lily and her husband were murdered by a madman.
Those their son would have gone to were killed or disabled one by one until the only relative they know of left was her half-sister… who they didn’t know was a half-sister.
Petunia might have hated magic but she wasn’t stupid. A pair of rubber gloves, sunglasses and two sets of tweezers, done in the backyard, ensured that whatever might have been on that letter didn’t take.

She left her own child in her husband’s care and the child in the basket he arrived in and hastily got dressed.
The child was then put into the car, still in the basket, and driven to the local police station.
Her husband has some associations among them. They would help her sort this quickly and quietly. She would NOT have her changeling of a ‘sister’s’ spawn in HER house!
The boy was placed into care until she could contact her cousin to see if she would take the boy.
She hadn’t heard from Nana in years but she could not, WOULD not take the boy. Ever.
The boy’s parents had been murdered by a cultist and his followers and she couldn’t have that coming after her family. It just wasn’t SAFE.
Nana lived in Japan. That should be far enough away and SAFE, right?

In her flurry, Petunia forgot about the great grand uncle she’d met exactly once and never heard from again

Little Harry was put under protective custody.

Nana Sawada was contacted and, within three months, Harry James Potter was Hiroto Sawada and her little Tsunayoshi’s shiny new brother.
Tsuna loved him almost immediately.

Hiro was sad because no more Mama or Papa or Paddy or Moony but Aunty was nice and Tsuna loved him and was always wrapping him up in his energy.
Something in Hiro was slowly waking up to and wrapping itself around Tsuna in response.
His messy, raven black hair was slowly developing green highlights.

It gave Hiro headaches but he didn’t know what was happening to slow or stop it even if he wanted to.
Hiro was an intelligent child and adapted quickly, even though he was sad.
He learned fast to and, by the time they were five, spoke and wrote in Japanese even better than Tsuna did.
Tsuna was younger than Hiro by over six months and Hiro took to the role of ‘big brother’ with glee.
He was very protective of his ‘little brother’ even to fighting with Hibari san and other bullies. He didn’t always win but it was enough to make them go away.

He bonded with another big brother with a little sibling, only his was a sister.
His name was Ryohie Sasagawa and he got Hiro into training and boxing which he then chibbied Tsuna and that brother’s little sister, Kyoko, into as well.
If they didn’t like fighting that was fine but they should at least be fit enough to run away…

They could agree to that.

Things went on as normal until Tsuna’s Papa came home with a strange man who put Hiro’s back up.
The old man was doing something that pushed at them both and it spooked Tsuna.

His Papa wasn’t a very good Papa because he didn’t even know Hiro lived here too and it had been years and years!
He kept telling Hiro to go home even though Tsuna tried to tell him that Hiro WAS home and Aunty did too.

Then, Tsuna fell out of a tree, startled by the neighbor’s dog (seriously. There was something WRONG with that thing. It was full of hatred for everything that wasn’t it’s person. Even it’s person’s family…) and the old man tried to put a burning finger in Tsuna’s face.

Hiro tackled him out of the way and something, responding to the fire on Tsuna, burst out in mostly crackly green flames. There were tiny bits of red, yellow, light purple, blue and a lot of dark purple but mostly crackly green.

Then, Hiro’s other power activated with his desperate wish for them to be far away from here and SAFE and they disappeared.
They landed on the roof of the Sasagawa house, cuddled together and unconscious.

Ryohie was two years older than they were, the same age as Hibari san and he’d never been quite right since the accident where he shoved Kyoko and her friend Haru out of the way of a car that came up onto the concrete. He’d been clipped and had to go to hospital but healed up really fast.

He burst into yellowish Flames while Kyoko’s eyes gleamed dark purple, light purple and yellow. More yellow than the others, but they were there.
She didn’t have enough for Flames all over but her eyes showed her nature.
Tsuna was too strong for her to be his primary Bond but she could feel /sense him better than her brother could.

She told her brother to call Hibari san and also Yamamoto san.
She wasn’t sure why that was important, but it was.
Just like it was important that Tsuna kun and Hiro kun were hidden away and kept together.

Yamamoto san arrived first, looked at the hidden away pair and nodded.
He put up some talismans around the cupboard they were tucked into, leaving his son to help guard while he went and did something to his car.
Hibari kun turned up a little while later and stared grumpily at them.

He turned around, stalked away and came back with some grown-ups.
All of the children were taken away to a house one the Hibari properties.

They stayed there for two weeks and Tsuna’s Papa was ‘invited’ to leave and not come back.

No one had counted on him taking Tsuna’s Mama with him though.

From then on, Tsuna and Hiro lived between the Hibari house they woke up in and Takesushi, where Yamamoto san and kun live and work until a small, toddler-sized even, green person in a lab coat turned up looking VERY angry.

It took Tsuna a LONG time to get over being abandoned but Hiro explained to him that it wasn’t his Mama’s fault.
His Papa had been doing to his Mama what that old man had been trying to do to them with his own powers.
That was VERY rude and VERY mean…but Hiro didn’t think Tsuna’s Papa was a very nice person.

The small green person was, apparently, someone very important and actually a grown-up under a curse. Hiro and Tsuna are part of his Clan.
So is Tsuna’s Mama and so was Hiro’s Mama. They have an aunty and a cousin in England who don’t like anything to do with out-of-the-ordinary stuff and want to be left alone so the small person, who told them to call him Uncle Verde, does. An eye is kept on them though.

Verde will be retrieving Nana because she was taken unlawfully and Flames were used on her to make her accept. THAT is illegal since she is part of a Clan.

Uncle can’t be there all the time. He’s VERY smart, along with very angry and very busy. Not only does he have lots of experiments happening all at once but he is also looking for ways to break the Curse because it’s draining their fires away, little bits at a time.

Hiro offers to help since he’s got both the Family Flames AND the other thing.
Uncle Verde accepts.

Hiro and Tsuna have guards now and learn self-defense along with anything else Uncle feels they need training in.
Some other small people come and go and teach them all sorts of things.
They go to school as well as extra lessons Uncle pays for.
People will be looking for them both.

One is a stunt person, another handles money and likes it a lot, another teaches them how to handle guns of all different sizes and their physical training teaching Ryohie and Yamamoto Kun (call me Takeshi’s) with Takeshi kun’s dad as well.

Hiro has extra lessons for his other power too along with at least six other people in the city, though their ages are different. One is in kindy still while the oldest is in middle school. One of the Hibari Clan takes those lessons.

Hibari kun pops by regularly to check on them as he’s ‘taken responsibility’ for them.

That and Tsuna feel's nice to be around and Ryohie and Hiro are always up for a fight. They’re not on his level, yet, but they have potential and they’re getting stronger really fast.
An Activated body and Lightning Hard shielding make for durable opponents.

Even though he doesn’t like it, Tsuna learns to fight too. He, Kyoko, her friend Haru chan and her best friend Hana are all learning escape and evasion together.

When they were ten odd, Uncle came home with Tsuna’s Mama.
His Papa was dead but his Mama was NOT okay. They’d made her have another baby and no one knew where it was.

Her mind was all messed up and she didn’t know any of them. Her fires were a mess and they put her into specialist care.
Working together with Viper san, Harry, Tsuna, Aunty and Uncle found the baby.

It was stolen by a Famigllia forced to go underground.

Uncle took over and the baby, which didn’t have Flames anymore, hurt the same way Aunty was, came back with a bunch of other kids which were left in Hibari care.
They were seriously messed up.

There were eight or so and three pregnant ladies.
Tsuna visited them and his Mama when he could. They were hurting so much and Tsuna couldn’t leave it like that. The lack of Harmony itched at him so he wanted to make it better.
Tsuna is very careful with his Flames, making sure he only lets out little bits. If they’ve been scorched (when Flames are used to hurt someone else’s Flames) then being washed in Flames could hurt them more. Little bits shouldn’t hurt though and might even help.

Hiro had something in his scar that was feeding off his Magic and Uncle freaked out. It was taken out of him as soon as possible but that bit is a bit sensitive to Magic like that now.
These kids REEKED of it. People have been mucking around where they shouldn’t have been and Hiro told Uncle as much. They probably need looking over by a Magic medic too.

Because what had been done to Aunty Nana scared hell out of him, Hiro ‘Hardened’ his memories. While he might forget in time like any other person, they couldn’t be changed through outside influences. His memories were HIS and precious and he didn’t want ANYONE messing with them…

Izuku… wasn’t sure how he felt about anything anymore.
He still wanted to help people but he wasn’t sure what was the best way to do that.
He’d THOUGHT it was as a Hero because that was what was all around him but now… he wasn’t sure.

Uncle said that was alright. He was dealing with a lot and he should take as much time as he needs to adjust.

It wasn't that Izuku didn't LIKE hearing family History as far as Uncle knew it. He LIKED knowing where Uncle came from and how they were similia he just… wishes Mama could have heard it too.
That it hadn’t taken her dying for him to be found and to have a chance to learn it.

That and Izuku had questions...

Why was Harry alive when none of the others were?
Would he have Flames too or did Quirks stop it. He didn’t THINK he did. He KNEW he didn’t have Magic. You had to be Quirkless for that. He almost regretted getting a Quirk if it would have meant he could have Flames, Magic or both…
He liked his Quirk. He DID. It had saved his and Kacchan’s life but…
