later that night, the boys had set up a tent, with the obvious effort, since they were a bit tipsy after leaving the pub, but eventually they made it. some place in the woods James had found on his map.

“James, how the hell did you find this place.” Sirius said, while roasting a marshmallow above the fire they just made.

James shrugged, and turned his attention back to the map he was, for some reason, still studying.

“pardon me?” a woman’s voice suddenly sounded from behind them, making the four boys jump up in fear; mind them, it was around midnight and they were in the woods.

the girl had this long red hair, bright green eyes and a little smile, she looked a bit afraid, but like she was at least trying to be kind.

“you guys are on my property, well, my uncle’s property, but camping isn’t allowed here.”

“oh.” James said. he looked a little stunned by the girl, now he was the one unable to talk.

“Lils? are you alright?” another voice sounded, as a tall, slim boy came from behind a tree, he-

Regulus?!”

Sirius?!”

the boy, who’s name was Regulus, apparently, stepped into the circle they were in, his face now being visible to them.

“wait, wasn’t your brother’s name Regulus?” Remus asked him, remembering their conversation the night after James’s birthday.

“i am his brother,” Regulus said*,* looking at Remus. “who are you though?”

“i’m Remus, one of your brother’s friends.”

“okay.” the pale boy said, turning his attention back to Sirius in actual confusion. ”what are you doing here, Sirius? aren’t you supposed to be at school?!”

Sirius shrugged, then giggled. “i guess, don’t care.”

“listen,” the girl started. “i don’t know you, but you should definitely start caring about your education!”

“probably.”

Lily shrugged and offered the boys to stay for the night, so they kindly accepted the offer and walked back with their stuff and the other two. Regulus lived there too, for now at least. according to Sirius he was tired of the situation at home as well, so he went to his best friend; Lily.

Lily didn’t live there, though she visited often, but her aunt and uncle were never able to have kids, so they were more than happy to take Regulus in.

“Regulus? Lily? is that you guys?” a male voice sounded as the group entered the massive house, the lights immediately turning on, blinding their eyes.

“blimey! who are these pals?”

“don’t worry, uh,” Regulus started, looked at Sirius and then looked back at the man. “that’s my brother. and these are his friends.”

“hi.” Sirius said, as the others did a small wave thing.

“Sirius, is it? god! i’ve heard so many great things about you!” the man then said, making Sirius look at Regulus, who’s cheeks were burning up by now.

“good things i hope?” Sirius said with a big grin on his face, still looking at Regulus.

“only good things.” the man said, then turning to the other boys, still a big smile on his face. “i suppose you lot came here by car? did you park it in front? have you got all your luggage?”

the boys nodded, and the man stepped outside. possibly looking at the car.

“it's a nice car, is it still working?” he asked, looking around, wondering who’s car it was. Remus raised his hand a little, “it’s mine, and yeah; it’s a good machine, works perfectly fine.”

“ah.”

the man rushed them all inside again and showed them their rooms, not all of them had a bedroom to themselves. Sirius was sharing with Regulus, since they had lots to catch up on. Pete wanted his own room, since he liked space. so James and Remus shared a bedroom as well.

they had changed into their bed robes, both of them put a mattress on the ground. sharing the bed might have been easier, but they decided it would also be fun to both sleep on mattress on the floor.

“moony?” James said, turning his head to the taller boy.

“that’s me.” Remus said, chuckling to himself after realizing it wasn’t that funny at all.

“what was that today, in the car, with… pads,” he laughed quietly. “since that’s what we call him now.” Remus looked at him in confusion, furrowing his brows; and smiled.

“what’ca mean?” he said, chuckling shortly after.

“moony…” James said, sitting up now.

“what?!”

“do you, you know… ?” he said, with an understanding look.

“what?! no! i don’t! pads is my friend, that’s all.” Remus now said, trying to keep his voice down. James looked at him with an expression that reminded Remus way too much of James’s mother.

“if you say so.” James said, dropping the subject, for Remus’s sake.

“what about the way you looked at the girl, Lily?” Remus said, smirking to himself, seeing the boy next to him sit up again.

“what?” James said, blood serious.

“do you, like her, Jamie?” Remus said in a babying voice, laughing. James hated to be called Jamie, and Remus often took advantage of knowing that.

“oh shut up!” James was now laughing too, both boys obviously trying to keep their voices down.

“never.”
