Chapter 4
Matilda pov
Getting Rachel up I grab my bags seeing her do the same before checking it's clear, getting outside I look around before taking off feeling her holding my shirt to keep up.
"Do you have any family outside Raccoon City?" I ask.
"My grandparents"
Nodding I keep us moving while checking cars, coming across a cop in swat armor without a helmet I hum tilting my head looking at him "I have an idea but you're not gonna like it" I say chuckling.
"What?"
Moving to the body I quickly pull it off before tossing it to her "put it on" I order while looking around till I finally find the helmet.
Grabbing it I wipe it off before placing it on her head "shut up and put it on" I warn seeing her disgust.
Seeing her struggle with it I roll my eyes helping her get it on "there more padding to avoid bites, just protect your throat" I add smugly.
"What about you?" She snarks.
Humming I shrug "you need more protection" she says.
"Awe, someone's worried about the protector dying and being stuck" I coo before walking on.
"You're kind of a bitch" she mutters under her breath.
"So is my Aunt and cousins, being a bitch comes naturally" I say smirking at her shocked face.
Before she can respond I grab her arm forcing her to run with me, glancing back I see the monster lift a weapon at us before lowering it and moving on.
"What the fuck" I mutter frowning.
"We have to leave" Rachel says repeatedly while shaking.
Grunting I cover her mouth while watching the creature continue on, hearing it says Stars I frown.
"What does it want with S.T.A.R.S" I mutter before turning to her yanking her around to check her over.
Finding the Umbrella logo I frown, this symbols to similar to Miranda's.
Sighing I roll my eyes, this must be why Dad was worried about me being here they released this and they're connected to Miranda, so it's best to stay out of that things way to let it complete it's objective.
"Do not pick up anything with the S.T.A.R.S symbol on it Rachel" I warn seeing her nod.
Looking around I take off pulling her along only to bump into a guy, reacting on instinct I kick my leg out throwing him back before pointing my gun at him while putting Rachel behind me.
"Not infected" he calls suddenly.
Huffing I keep my gun in hand glaring at him as he gets up "fucking man thing, you're lucky I didn't kill you" I snap.
"Man thing?" I hear both him and Rachel mutter "why did you call him that?" Rachel asks.
Waving her off I roll my eyes hearing the guy mention helping survivors and where to go before running off.
Shrugging I lead Rachel on heading for the place and finding a man sat going over maps, walking over I motion Rachel to wait "if anything happens to her, your bosses boss will be after you" I warn crossing my arms.
Seeing him glare at me I chuckle "I know you can contact Wesker, so ask him about the main boss over his bosses" I casually say before moving away and forcing Rachel to sit.
I stand by her with my arms crossed watching him get up and leave "what did you say to him?" Rachel asks.
"The less you know the better Rachel, but if things go the way I plan, you'll be taken out of here immediately"
"What about you?" She asks.
Humming I shrug "I have a few things I need to grab back at my car, but I was trying to get you out before I went back".
Seeing the guy come back I smirk at his nod "find someone to get her out of here safely now, I want her outside the city and off to her family without any danger or threat" I warn.
He nods leaving to go handle my order, glancing at Rachel I see her questioning look.
Sometime later
Nodding I cross my arms "if I find out you lied you won't like the outcome" I warn after being told she got out, before hearing footsteps coming up.
Looking up I see a woman come up with injuries glaring at the guy who directed me here "hey, you made it, where's your friend?" He asks.
"She didn't make it" I grunt.
He goes silent but nods in response, so I tune out the talking before hearing the monster yell Stars again.
Looking at the woman I scoff "oh great you're what he's after" I snark seeing her look back.
I pull out my gun while hearing her plan explained before she takes off with the guy "we need data on his battle".
Nodding at the leader I head out planning to gather anything I can, finding her running I jog to catch up "you need to go back" she orders.
Chuckling I roll my eyes before holding out my weapons bag "if you plan on fighting that big ass fucker you need more power, take your pick, I plan on taking that truck and driving out even if I have to off road my path" I say casually.
She frowns looking at the truck then me before taking some "good luck and give it hell at the very least" I call back heading to the truck.
Checking it I yank the door open and start on hotwiring it, getting it started I climb in and drive off seeing her watching as I head further away.
Turning a corner I slam the breaks seeing a helicopter hit the police station before hearing Stars yelled again "oh fuck me" I mutter seeing a large body moving around.
Backing up I turn down another street before stopping at a store to grab some things, once back in the truck I frown looking at the orphanage in the distance, heading to it and getting out I let myself in and look around for anything useful, finding some cribs still boxed up I take them out before going back for toys.
Doing another check I come out with some clothes tossing them in the truck before spinning around pointing my gun.
Raising my brow at seeing a gun in my face so I smirk at the woman "do you need something?" I ask.
Not getting an answer I roll my eyes "the place is empty, I'm taking shit that's useable, plenty of people could use it" I finally say motioning to the truck bed.
She moves keeping a watch on me before looking in the back "if you plan to escape do it now" she warns putting her gun away.
"Yes ma'am" I snark giving a mock salute before moving to the truck.
"Either hop in or run because we got company" I tease before seeing her fire a grappling gun going up.
Humming I climb in my truck taking off, looking at the time I see it's a few hours till sunrise "wonder if I'll find any survivors that manage to escape".
