Chapter 11
It didn't take long to call the wizengamont together. Even though Finn wasn't really part of the wizarding world, Ben and Rey were. They may not be wizards like Harry, but they had a certain power that could only be explained by those who had seen it before.
Finn was held in a top tower of the ministry waiting for the trial. There was guards posted around the clock to make sure that no one tried to help him escape. When they reported to Robards after each shift, it was reported that Finn had been yelling that he would get Rey back and he would kill Ben Solo.
The day of the trial, Harry walked into the room and couldn't help but think of his own trial just over three years ago for underage magic when he had sent the dementors away when they attacked him and his cousin, Dudley. Thankfully this time around, Fudge and the toad, Umbridge wasn't around.
Kingsley walked in followed by Robards and the other members. It had been decided that Rey and Ben would wait to be called in towards the end of the hearing.
Once Kingsley was seated, the grate raised into the room, holding Finn.
"Finn, no surname, you are brought before us because you intended to kidnap Rey Solo, and kill Ben Solo" Kingsley began. "Do you have anything you wish to add?"
"Her name isn't Rey Solo" he spat. "She would never aline herself to that monster."
"That monster as you claim is her husband" Harry said.
Finn rolled his eyes but kept his mouth shut. Kingsley nodded at Harry, who nodded back.
"Well if the accused doesn't have anything to say, we best bring in the witnesses. Let's start with Bill Weasley."
Bill was brought in, followed by Harry being questioned, then Robards, James and Tonks.
Finn started to laugh. "Funny. You aren't even bringing in Rey. She will vouch for me."
Kingsley smirked. "I wouldn't be so sure of that. Rey Solo." He said to the one guard by the door.
When Rey walked in Finn's eyes widened. She was dressed in blue robes and she had a steel look on her face. One he had only seen a handful of times and each time meant nothing good ever happened.
"Rey Solo, you're the wife of Ben Solo who was formerly known as Kylo Ren?" Kingsley asked.
Rey nodded. "Yes sir."
"Very well. Please tell us in your own words what happened when Finn came the first time."
"He tried to take me against my will" she said. "There was two more with him, Poe Dameron and Rose Tico. But their memories were to be erased of me."
"I see. Can you explain why Finn's wasn't?"
"He is also force sensitive and probably shielded his mind. Poe and Rose couldn't."
"On the day that you heard Finn was back, what did you do?"
"First I got scared. Scared that he would succeed. Then I got angry. I really didn't do anything, but I knew that I would if he got close to my husband or me."
"You stayed with Bill and Fluer Weasley, right?" Amelia Bones asked.
"Yes ma'am" she said. "Bill is a curse breaker as well as his wife. Harry thought we would be safe there and that Finn wouldn't find us. Once there, Harry, Robards, James and Tonks went looking for him."
"How do you suppose Finn knew where to go?" Kingsley asked.
"That I don't know. My only guess is he tapped into the force to sense my signature."
"Just one more question and you can go. Do you think that Finn should be released or held accountable for his actions?"
Rey froze and her eyes went to where Finn was being held. When she saw the hatred in his eyes she started to shake. "Held accountable for his actions " she finally whispered.
"Thank you" Kingsley said. "You may go."
Rey hurried out of the room as Ben was called in.
Arthur Weasley was waiting outside when Rey got there and he pulled her into his arms. "Don't worry" he said. "This will all be over soon. As I told Harry a few years back, truth will out."
Rey nodded and let Arthur lead her over to some chairs not far from the court room.
She could just make out what was being said but not everything. Ben was saying almost the exact same thing she had, but was also adding to it.
She cringed when she heard Finn raise his voice, but within seconds all was silent. When the door opened, Ben appeared and motioned for Rey to come forward. "They've reached their decision" he said. "Do you want to hear it?"
Rey nodded and Ben took her hand as they walked back into the court room.
Finn was still in the grate, but there was blood all over his face. "He tried to get out, but there was spells around it" Ben whispered. "He threatened to kill me and you."
Kingsley raised his hand drawing everyone's attention. "I'm not going to keep everyone, so I will make this quick. Finn, no surname, you are found guilty of all charges. You will be sent back to where you came from, but stripped of all power. This will happen before you leave this room. Once there, you will be in exhile in a place that only we and Luke Skywalker will know about. Master Skywalker, do you have the place?"
Luke nodded and he gave a slight smirk to Rey.
Before Finn could react, he was knocked out. Luke stepped forward and raised his hand and Rey could just make out seeing the power leave Finn. It was faint, like a mist.
Rey tried to reach out in the force to sense him, but when she couldn't, she knew it worked. "It's done, minister" Luke said.
"Very well. Deliver him to the place where he will be exhiled. Also see you it that no one remembers him, including this Poe and Rose."
Once Luke was gone with Finn, Kingsley dismissed everyone but motioned for Ben and Rey to follow him.
Once in his office he motioned for them to sit. "Where was he taken?" Rey asked.
"A place called Dagabah" Kingsley replied. Ben roared with laughter , his head thrown back. "Kriff. That place is a swamp."
Rey chuckled. "Well no one will find him there, that's for sure."
"He won't be completely alone though" Kingsley said. "Yoda and Luke will be checking on him from time to time and reporting back to us. If he learns his lesson, we will reevaluate and maybe let him return to society, but he will never have his memories of Rey back. The same goes with the force. As of this time, Finn has been erased from everyone's minds."
