As Thanos lays on the floor of his dormitory, cheap bottle of alcohol strewn across, he couldn't help but feel giddy at the prospect of Nam-gyu coming over once again.
The thought of another hang out— just the two of them once again, fills him with warmth that only he could feel when he is with his best friend– his bro.
He giggles on what they'll do for this hang out. They'll probably talk shit about peers and teachers alike or possibly just be lazy, lay together on the couch, Nam-gyu laying ontop of him like a domesticated cat.
He cant help but feel the warmth that spreads across his face,
This warmth that spreads across his body, the butterflies in his stomach whenever he and Nam-gyu are close or within reach always fills him with energy. Energizing him, not able to contain his mischievous and uncontrollable ways whenever the other is near, plus the reactions Nam-gyu would give him is just an added bonus that might probably be the reason as to why he acts the way he is when the other man is near.
He never dives deeper than the friendship he has with Nam-gyu, too afraid of what would happen if he does delve unto untamed territory, afraid of their friendship becoming ruined if he does acknowledge these feelings.
He likes Nam-gyu, yes, maybe more so than a guy liking a friend— and both that terrifies him and exhilarates him. The bond they share, the closeness they have– he doesnt want that to disappear.
The way that his heart leaps at a glance, the way their gazes linger for too long even when the conversation was already over, they never looked away— always staring at each other, seeming like wanting something to happen. But Nam-gyu always looks away first. It leaves Thanos feeling adrift, like something major had slipped through his fingers before he could truly grasp it.
He sighs heavily and drags his hands down his face, frustration simmering beneath his touch. The need for another drink, the way his hands twitch towards one of the unopened alcohol bottles. He bites his lips and stops himself before he could truly hold a bottle— reminding himself that Nam-gyu wouldn’t like the idea of him drinking.
When is he coming? His mind screams as he stares at the bottles lined up before him. He won’t notice if I take a sip right now, right? He debates, fingers hovering over the nearest one. The alcohol isn’t even strong enough to make him drunk—too cheap to have any real effect on his high tolerance, something he had noticed after the two to fourth bottle he drank.
But before he could truly hold the nearest bottle, a knock on the door pulled him from his mussings. He stares at the bottle and at the door, quickly he straightens up, wiping his hands on his jeans, as he tries to steady his racing heart. That must be Nam-gyu, he thought– his nerves freezing him on the chair.
Another knock, this time accompanied with a familiar voice, "Thanos open up dude!" Nam-gyu muffled out as he continued to knock. "Dont tell me you blacked out or something!" The man whined.
With a jolt, Thanos stood up abruptly, hoping his nerves would calm down as he opened the door.
There Nam-gyu stood looking as if he was about to knock once again— he smiles towards Thanos, his expression soft and filled with warmth, it makes the nerves and the butterflies within Thanos grow.
"For a second there, I thought you were dead dude," A hand hides his mouth as he snickered, with his cute habit of creating sweater paws.
Thanos noticed distantly that Nam-gyu is wearing glasses, round-rimmed ones that makes— "you look cute," he mumbles out, his voice barely above a whisper as his gaze lingers on them. With a jolt, he realizes what he had said aloud— warmth radiates on his face and he doesnt know whether its from embarrassment or from being flustered— both, probably– those are the same thing– right???
Thanos tries to think of something else to say– something to distract Nam-gyu from what he had said. But before he could, laughter snaps him from his thoughts and he stands there dumbly at the way Nam-gyu loses himself in his mirth. He couldn't help but smile like an idiot at the Nam-gyu laughs, so full and so bright.
"Dude! You probably drank too much! Your drunk as fuck!" Nam-gyu laughed aloud, wiping a tear from his mirthful eyes. Thanos frowns at this, yes he drank like four to six? bottles of alcohol but he was pretty sure that he wasnt drunk.
As Nam-gyu's laughter ended– with Thanos standing awkwardly at the entrance, Nam-gyu smiles sweetly towards the purple-haired man.
"If you really do find it cute. I wont mind wearing it tomorrow, for you,"
Thanos stares at him, mouth slightly agape and slight flush on his cheeks.
Nam-gyu looks away awkwardly, seeming like regretting what he had said but too late to take it back.
"Fuck." Thanos muttered, "For me?" He whispers, his voice soft and if it wasnt for the silent hallway Nam-gyu would have never heard it, he nods shyly too flustered to look at Thanos.
Nam-gyu clears his throat awkwardly. "I... Are you not going to let me in?" he asks shyly, his voice unsure as he bashfully glances back at Thanos.
Thanos blinks, finally noticing that they were still at the entrance of his dorm, "Shit– yeah, come in dude," he mutters, feeling too aware of the butterflies in his stomach all to well.
Namgyu steps inside, as if he owns the place, already walking towards the room where the coach lies. Slowly, Thanos closes the door behind him as he follows behind.
