Modern setting (hanazo)

"Your punches are stronger than usual."

"I've been training more than usual. I have to be strong if I want to beat Hanzo."

"I remember the times that you were lazy."

"I always worked hard, Kagura! I wasn't lazy."

"You can't fool us Hayabusa, we're childhood friends."

"You too Hanabi?" Kagura and giggled.

"Sometimes you would skip training and drool on the grass." Kagura laughed at this. Little Hayabusa's picture appeared in her mind.

"Now you're lying. I did not drool on the grass!"

"I have a proof, look!"

Kagura showed him a picture. Hayabusa's face instantly turned white then darkened.  His eyes widened in disbelief. It was a picture of him lying on his back, one hand on his belly, snoring. Kagura was making a peace sign while smiling at the camera.

Kagura laughed and Hanabi chuckled. She was trying to hold her laugh back, but after hearing Kagura's laugh she laughed too. Hayabusa blushed with embarrassment. Sometimes having childhood friends wasn't that good.

"I'm not gonna ask you to delete it. I know you won't."

"I won't. And Hanabi I sent it to you."

"Thank you, Kagura."

"You're welcome Hanabi!"

Hanabi's phone buzzed with a notification. Lesley was asking if she would come to archery training Lesley was asking if she would come to archery practice. She wrote a reply and started to pack her things.

"You're leaving?"

"I didn't realize how time passed, it's time for my practice."

"Can I come with you? I promise I won't disturb you."

"Of course you can."

"Thank you! Goodbye Hayabusa-kun."

"Goodbye, Hayabusa. Have fun with your training you Naruto wannabe."

"Have fun with your practice you Sasha wannabe."

They all giggled and the girls left. Hayabusa was taking karate courses. No matter how good he was, he couldn't beat his opponent Hanzo. This pissed him off. Hanzo was gifted while had to train his butt off. He took a deep breath and drank water. It wasn't the right time to overthink. Little did he know he had 2 things Hanzo didn't have. A friend and a girlfriend.

Lesley and Miya wanted to establish an archery club but they didn't have enough members. There had to be at least 4 members. Miya asked Layla and Lesley asked Hanabi. She was hesitant at first but couldn't refuse her friend's request so she joined. It was one of the best decisions she ever made. At the same time, she was having fun, clearing her mind and socializing.

Kagura didn't join any after-school clubs. She regretted it soon. Hayabusa didn't mind her coming to his training but she would get bored. She wasn't bored from watching her boyfriend but not being able to talk to anyone. She didn't ask Hanabi if she could come because she thought Hanabi would be uncomfortable because of the coldness between them. At that time they both liked Hayabusa.

After talking and solving their problems, she started visiting the archery club. She quickly became friends with Layla and Lesley. She wasn't bad but wasn't good either just average. Even though she didn't officially join, she would shoot arrows with her friends.
---
The first time he saw her was when they were in middle school. He was in the same class as Hayabusa. One day a silver-haired girl entered the classroom, followed by a brunette girl. With short black-straight hair and chocolate brown eyes, she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.

Although he was sitting in the back row and was stealing glances at her, she must have caught his gaze because she started to stare at him. Only then Hanzo realized he was looking at the girl. Hayabusa looked at the spot where she was looking and frowned. He said something to the girls and they left. Even though he couldn't learn her name that day, he engraved her in his mind.

After that day, he started seeing them more often. Soon he realized she had a crush on Hayabusa just like their silver-haired friend. There was something about her that attracted him. Even though he was socially weak, he could observe people and figure out their personalities. Since he was a good listener and those around him talked a lot, it wasn't hard to find their weaknesses. There were some exceptions like Julian, Hayabusa, Fredrinn and Hanabi.

Hanzo sometimes observed them from a distance, mostly Hanabi. Hayabusa often saw him and tried to leave the place with the girls but they didn't want to. This made Hayabusa irate and tense but he bit his tongue. He just watched Hanzo closely though Hanzo never looked a him.

Hanabi sometimes saw him too and that made her irritated. At first, her main concern was Kagura's safety. Hayabusa and herself could defend themselves but Kagura couldn't. Her strength wouldn't be enough. But Hanzo never tried to harm her or any of them. It was creepy and discomfiting. Weirdly he looked like observing mostly... Her. She understood why Hayabusa stood in front of them occasionaly.

Hayabusa took him aside during training one day and told him to stop acting like a creep. Hanzo didn't know he was seen as a creep. He was shocked and had a disgusted expression on his face. Hayabusa understood the reason for his disgust and paused. Did that idiot really not realize that? Looked like he didn't. The first thing he did was apologize to Hanabi and try to express himself. His awkwardness and nervousness made her giggle. Hanzo mostly stopped watching them.

In high school someone in Hanzo's class was talking about his girlfriend, expressing how much he admires her beauty, the desire to kiss her, and how much likes her... Hanzo realized he had a crush on Hanabi for years. At home all he did was lie in bed and think, overthink. There was no way he was capable of liking someone, especially Hanabi. What was seeing in her anyway?

Hanabi's physical features were ordinary. What could have attracted him? Her coldness? Her loyalness? Her beautiful face? Her cherry red full lips that she pursed whenever she concentrated? The mask she maintains to hide her personality and kindness? Could be. The more he thought the more he found reasons. It had been years, and now it was time for Hanzo to take action, even though he didn't know how.

He did what he at good at, listening. He planned some surprises, gifts, and talks but couldn't find enough courage to do them all. Luckily Hanzo and Hanabi were in the same class. He gave pens and erasers whenever she needed them. He tried to make some small talks. His attempts entertained Hanabi so she thought why not give him a chance?

When Hanzo held out his umbrella to her in the rain, Hanabi thanked him and kissed his cheek. Hanzo paused for a moment. His cheeks were as red as a tomato. He tried to say something but only mumbles came out of his mouth. She chuckled and walked away, leaving Hanzo smiling like a lovesick fool. It was their beginning. They started to flirting. Hanabi didn't expect Hanzo to be a shy guy but he was. Whenever she kissed Hanzo, he always blushed.

Hanzo laid on Hanabi's shoulder and smelled her perfume. She put her head on his. He wrapped his left arm around her waist. She was looking at him with her sparkling eyes, smiling softly. He couldn't help but kiss her lips. Every stupid and weird thing he did was worth the feeling, of being loved. She was worth everything. That idiot Hayabusa could cry himself to sleep, Hanzo had the best girlfriend in the world.
