Dear Starboy,

Potions class is kicking my arse. I can’t seem to get the Draught of Peace right. I can’t seem to get the characteristic silver vapour. I know you’re actually good at Potions and you weren’t just saying so, because your and Draco’s potions are always brewed perfectly. Maybe we could set up a time to meet in the Potions Lab to work on it together? I would love to spend some time with you and also learn how to make this potion correctly. We can pick an obscure time when no one else will be down there.

“Well, obviously, I can’t go. You did all the work to make that potion,” Theo shrugged, “You’re going to have to say no.”

Draco pondered for a second. “I have an idea. I’ll need a strand of your hair,” he said, reaching up to pull a piece from Theo’s head.

Dear Bookworm,

I know how much grades are important to you, so of course I’ll help! We can meet in the Potions Lab tomorrow night at 10 pm. That way, we’ll be alone, but we’ll still make it back to our dormitories in time for curfew.

I’m excited to show my expertise, since my father owns a chain of apothecaries and all. He’s taught me everything I know (except for what Snape has taught, I suppose).

I really look forward to seeing you for real tomorrow.

“YES!” Hermione exclaimed to her ginger friend, “I’m finally going on a date with him!”

Ginny raised a singular eyebrow, “I’m not sure I would consider brewing a potion to be a date, but whatever makes you happy.”

The frizzy-haired brunette reread the parchment, “Well, I suppose we never exactly called it a date either…” Her voice trailed off.

Ginny’s eyebrows raised. “No!” She exclaimed, “that’s not what I meant. I’m just saying, dates are usually fun, and well, studying isn’t fun for me. You’re dating, of course, it’s a date.”

Hermione sighed and smiled, “You’re right. I’m really excited for my date, with the guy I’m dating.”
