Life with the Grangers
"Good morning mother, father", Hermione greeted.
Daniel Granger looked up from the newspaper he was reading and smiled in his daughter's direction, before turning back to the paper.
"Good morning sweetheart", Emmarsyn Granger replied, without looking up from the mouth mirror she was cleaning.
"I'm going to the library. I'll be back at eight-thirty", Hermione replied.
"Sure dear, your lunch will be in the fridge."
"Thank you", and without another word, Hermione left the house.
She was going to the library, but not to read, but to assist the librarian, to earn some money.
She had, by now, collected a 1011 pounds. The librarian was generous, and Hermione could handle everything, despite her young age.
She did miss her friends a lot. It was like an ache that wouldn't just go away.
After getting their care and love, laughing and smiling, the atmosphere with her parents was stifling, as though she was locked in a room without any escape.
She missed Harry, his flair for mischief, his curiosity.
She missed Ron, his hilarity, his constant support.
She missed Crystalline, her motherly kindness and concern.
The only positive was that at least their plans were going without a hitch.
