“I’m still not used to being taken care of,”
“Do you want green or black tea Ann?” Leslie asked from the kitchen.
Ann had come down with a cold a couple days ago, and Leslie insisted she come and take care of her until she got better. And truth be told, she was quite good at it. She was constantly checking on her, bringing her tissues, blankets, checking her temperature, making sure she was resting enough, Ann was overwhelmed with love. No other person or best friend had ever done this for her before, Ann was truly grateful.
“Green would be nice,” Ann sniffed.
A few minutes later, Leslie walked into the living room and placed the mug in-front of Ann, and sat next to her on the couch.
“You know,” Ann started. “I’m still not used to being taken care of, but to be honest you’re really good at it,”
Leslie smiled. “Ann you rainbow infused raccoon, you know I wouldn’t let you suffer on your own,”
Ann laughed. “You’re amazing Leslie, thank you,”
“It’s no problem, really Ann. Is there anything else I can get you? Tissues? Another blanket?”
“Nope, I’m perfect. Thanks to you Leslie knope,”
“Just let me know okay? I got you,”
“I will. Thank you,”
Leslie smiled and began walking out of the room. “You should really take another nap Ann, it will be good for you,”
Ann yawned. “I think I will,”
“Okay, if you need me I’ll be at your dining room table catching up on emails,”
“Okay thank you Leslie,”
Leslie smiled and walked out of the room.
Ann was truly so grateful to have such a caring best friend who was willing to bend over backwards just to make her feel better.
