Teddy Lupin Potter was adopted by Harry Potter, and later Ginny Weasley, when he was 3 years old. His grandmother, Andromeda Tonks, had fallen ill with dragon pox and ended up succumbing to the disease. He was 6 years old when his first younger brother, James was born. He was 8 and 10 when Albus and Lily were born, respectively.
Growing up, Harry and Ginny made sure he knew who his biological parents were. They told him stories and showed him pictures. Uncle Charlie had the best stories to tell about his mom from Hogwarts. Before going to Hogwarts, Teddy made his own decision to add Potter to his last name. At Hogwarts, he was known as Teddy Potter.
As a child, he was very close to cousins Nadia and Victoire Weasley. He was sorted into Hufflepuff house at Hogwarts, where he met lifelong friends Logan Campbell, Andrea Green, and Holly Warren. He excelled at charms and care of magical creatures. By his 3rd year, he as the keeper on Hufflepuff’s quidditch team. By 6th year, he was the team captain. During his 5th year, he fell down the stairs at Hogwarts. He broke his right arm, left leg, and cracked his skull. He was hospitalized in St. Mungo’s for a week. In 7th year, he was appointed Head Boy alongside casual friend Katie Shacklebolt, who was a Gryffindor. (Katie is the granddaughter of former Minister for Magic Kingsley Shacklebolt.) By graduation, he and Katie had begun dating.
Teddy is, what the muggles would describe as, punk. He enjoys muggle bands like Panic! At the Disco and My Chemical Romance. He is a big fan of wizarding band 30 Seconds to Mars (Jared Leto is a wizard). When out of his office attire and robes, he prefers ripped jeans and leather jackets. His ears are pierced. He has a large tattoo of a wolf on his right pec. He is very tall (6’2”), something he inherited from his biological father, Remus Lupin. He is ¼ werewolf. He experiences mood and hormonal changes around the time of the full moon and prefers his steaks rare. He is stronger than the average man. His hearing and sight are better than normal as well.
He is also a metamorphmagus, meaning he can change his appearance at will. Naturally, he has dark hair, but usually he keeps it his favorite color: turquoise. It took him until his 7th year at Hogwarts to master the ability. He speaks English, as well as Hindi, which he learned from Harry.
Teddy is very outgoing; he is an extrovert. He loves meeting new people. He prefers to go out than to stay in. He is funny and goofy. As a child, he loved visiting his Uncle George’s joke shop; George taught him all the best pranks and jokes. He is very chill; problems roll right off of him a lot of times. He has a magic marijuana plant hidden on the property line of his parents’ yard. He occasionally shares with his brothers.
After graduating from Hogwarts, he took a job in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures: Beast Division. He has made it his goal to change public perception of Werewolves and other magical “beasts”. He hates the older employees’ continued prejudices that they don’t bother hiding. Their views are biased and outdated.
Teddy currently lives in a flat in Wizarding London with his girlfriend, Katie. They have been together for 2.5 years. He plans on about proposing soon.
Teddy is everyone’s favorite cousin.
