The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black

And so he enters this world, screaming, crying, covered in blood. You could say it was a dark day when Regulus was born, but light shone through the clouds ever so slightly; symbolic of the feeling hope, the emotion that has let you down the most in life.

Now, it was light outside. Nobody knew of the suffering to come.

The front door slammed and Regulus was ripped from his thoughts.

"SIRIUS ORION BLACK YOU WILL RETURN FOR WE ARE YOUR FAMILY" Mrs Black, mother dearest, bellowed at her oldest son who was rapidly running down the street.

"NO I WILL NOT MOTHER no- WALBURGA"

"ALRIGHT THEN YOU UNGRATEFUL BLOOD TRAITOR!" His father had joined in shouting at the child crying down the road.

Sirius had left him. Sirius had left him. And for what? James fucking Potter, surely James so special, or maybe Regulus is so worthless that he deserves to be left to rot.

It wasn't actually that surprising that he had left, the Black family weren't the best at being good people.

"REGULUS!" Mother shouted.

He tucked his head back through his bedroom window, carefully opened his door and descended the stairs - head held high - although he felt like doing the opposite; crashing down the stairs and being left to bleed out on the carpeted floor, he doubted his parents would care.

"As you know Sirius has decided he is not fit for this family," She paused, pondering what to say, "please don't end up like him." She gripped his chin and tilted his head up. "I care about you, don't ruin it."

She led him and his father up the stairs and stopped infront of the tapestry, in fancy writing the words 'The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black' lay at the top, there was only two people scratched from it, an uncle and Andromeada Tonks.

Walburga raised her wand.

And Sirius' face burnt away, never to return, ash.

Regulus returned to his room and cried, properly cried.

Kreacher had to put a silencing charm over the room to block out his shreiks of pain. It was unlikely he would ever cry again. There were enough tears to fill the Black Lake.

How he wished to return to Hogwarts, maybe he could throw himself off the Astronomy Tower; no-one would find his body for atleast a few days - but he couldn't leave his friends. Not Pandora, Barty and Evan, he couldn't hurt them... nobody could, he would make sure of that.

Returning to Hogwarts would be hard, awkward even, people would already know about Sirius disappearance and maybe people would treat Regulus differently; he was the heir to hell of a lot of money now. He hoped his friends wouldn't change because of the shift in his life.

Oh god. He hadn't thought of Sirius. Sirius who would be hated by Slytherin; Regulus would be expected to ignore him all the time - he couldn't do that Sirius was his brother.

Would Sirius still think or Regulus as his brother? Sure they weren't on the best of terms but they still cared for eachother. He doubts he gives one, after all Regulus was just another pureblood asshole.

Maybe he could run away from the house too, floo to Pandora's somehow.

He couldn't leave his parents behind because they loved hated him.

Why is life so hard? It would be better if it was a straight path, unluckily; its definitely not, the path is long and winding and there a many cliffs, you either come up with a way to pass them or plummet to your death.
