Hogwarts is Real?
Summary
Just a fun project i wanted to try. The idea is to write diary entries on real days as though from the perspective of a hogwarts student.lets see how well i do and if i can make it interesting...if it goes well, i'll do more than one year. TO BE CLEAR: A year will take a year.I can't say i'll write every day, nor do i totally have a plot planned out. I do hope that i can keep up a creative concept.I will update tags etc as I go along.***July 7, 2024: For those reading Power of Three I *still* haven't forgotten it. My writing muse has been all but dead the past year; Lots of not happy chaos. I am trying to reignite my muse and get back on it. Don't give up on me yet!***

5-Sept Letters from Home

Dear Ava

Your Dad and I are glad to hear you’ve had such a pleasant start to the school year. I am delighted you were sorted into the house you hoped for! Congratulations! Are there any clubs or sports for you to join?

It is strangely quiet without you here. I keep finding myself thinking about calling you downstairs to watch a movie me with or for dinner, but I cannot since you are not home. I have not been bored, however. Today, I went to a friend’s picnic. Do you remember Mrs. McAllister? Her daughter, Heather, just had a new baby. Little Dawn is adorable. You will love her when you meet her. Right now, she’s very small, but by the time you come home for the winter holidays, she will probably be at least somewhat mobile, possibly even crawling, and therefore more entertaining for you.

Your father has been busy at work, like normal. A hospital never sleeps! He has covered several long shifts since you left and it’s not looking like he will have a reprieve anytime soon. Several of his coworkers have been out. Hopefully they’re all fine and will be back soon.

I hope you don’t mind that it is taking me so long to respond; I needed to get Lottie her letter from you and no one was home when I tried to give it to her. I didn’t see her mother until last night. I expect Lottie will be at the door with a letter to send back tonight. Then you will get a response from both of us on Monday sometime.

Your dad and I can’t wait to hear back from you! Write soon.

All my love,
Mum

Ava!

School is sooo boring without you! I wanted to share a joke with you on Friday, but you were not there to share it with. It won’t be very funny, now, so I won’t bother to bore you.

A test on the first day? Your teacher sounds mean! I am glad I haven’t had any tests yet. Your school must be very posh to have an etiquette class, but gardening sounds fun. I think I’d like to garden at school.

Writing and Arithmetic are never fun, but we have started learning about the colonies in America in History. I can’t believe that the colonials had a tantrum over taxes! Mrs. Whitby told me it wasn’t a “tantrum” but a “protest” because they felt they were being charged too much, but it still sounds like a tantrum to me. They wasted all that tea by throwing it in the ocean! I can’t imagine wasting tea like that!

Do you remember Ronan Greenbrier? The boy who moved to our area last April? He sat next to me during lunch and kept sneaking peeks at me when he thought I wasn’t looking. Do you think he likes me? He is kind of cute. I don’t know how I feel about him. I don’t really know him yet.

What are your new friends’ names? I hope they’re very nice. Maybe over the summer they can visit you and I can meet them!

I wish I was allowed to mail you directly. Your mum says that you’re only allowed to get one piece of mail at a time because there are too many students. I think that’s silly! At least I can write you, though. Do you really have to send letters to me with your mum’s, too? Your school sounds very strict! Does your school allow phone calls home? Maybe we can set up a phone call.

Write again soon!
oxoxo
Your BESTEST friend,
Lottie
