Chapter 2
“Wait, Harry is a wizard?” Burnet shouted loud enough to disrupt Harry, who was still staring into Rowlet’s eyes.
“I’m a what?” Harry’s eyes grew wide, scared that he would be punished for asking such a question while an adult was talking to someone else. Rowlet felt his fear and began to groom him in an attempt to calm him down.
“Yes, you are a wizard, Harry.” the strict woman said, while looking annoyed at Burnet. “If I could come inside, I can explain everything.”
“Please come inside, professor. It’s been a while, hasn’t it?” Kukui asked, while gesturing to the woman to come inside.
“It has indeed, mister Kukui. Are you still letting your Pokemon attack yourself to learn about their moves?”
“He still does that, yeah. He is mostly trying to learn from Rockruff right now.” Burnet said.
“Well, that is at least better than the Garchomp you used in your final year. How many times did Madam Pomfrey need to heal you that week?”
“27 times.” Kukui looked proud of that number. Harry really didn’t understand how a human could heal another human that many times in a week.
“May I ask how?” Harry asked in a small voice. For the past week, Kukui and Burnet have been trying to get him to ask question, what better time to try it than the present?
“Of course. We four are all magical. With training and being taught correctly we are able to use our magic to change our surroundings, defend ourselves against threats and heal wounds that would normally take ages to heal. It is said in ancient times that we were able to use our magic even to seal away the legendary Pokemon, but that hasn’t been proven. At least not proven that a wix did it, it could have been Arceus or Mew, either of those have the power to do such things.” McGonagall said.
“Which Pokemon are you talking about?” Harry asked next.
“The legendary titans, of course. Regice, Registeel and Regirock are still sealed in Hoenn and Regieleki and Regidrago in Galar. Their leader is, if I'm right, still sealed in the Snowpoint Temple in Sinnoh.”
“Oh.” Harry said, not knowing what he could say further. The woman intimidated him quite a bit, mostly because she hadn’t smiled a single time since she walked in. He was also sceptical about the magic she kept mentioning.
“But I believe I haven’t introduced myself yet. I’m Professor Minerva McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress, Transfiguration teacher and Head of Gryffindor at Hogwarts.” She introduced herself to Harry and Rowlet.
“I’m Harry Potter.” Harry answered, shyly.
“I know, you are kinda famous and I knew your parents.”
“Why is Harry famous?” Kukui asked.
“You don’t know? I would expect you to have kept up to date with the news in our world.” the professor asked, shocked.
“WIth us being Pokemon Professors, we have not kept up to date. All the time we can have children coming and going to receive their first pokemon. When someone sees a moving picture or us using magic, we need to obliviate them. We kinda don’t want to do that to them.” Burnet answered.
“Ah, sorry for assuming. But yes, Harry is famous. Before I continue, what do you know about James and Lily Potter’s deaths?”
“They were killed by a tornado Rayquaza created.” Harry said with a small tear in his eye.
“Well, that is almost correct. They were killed by a shiny Rayquaza named Nagini on the command of a dark wizard named Voldemort. He had one goal at the time, and that was to destroy all children that were blessed by a legendary or mythical Pokemon. It is believed that you are blessed by Giratina, the Renegade Pokemon and the master of the distortion world.”
“I’m blessed by Giratina?” Harry said, shocked.
“Well, we don’t know for certain until Giratina shows himself to you and claims you as his.”
“Wait, if Harry is indeed blessed by Giratina, does that mean that the time of the Legendary Children has arrived?” Burnet asked, excited.
“It would indeed mean that, yes. But to continue, Voldemort disappeared after he killed your parents, Harry. Some believe that Rayquaza became angry at the accusation and destroyed Voldemort, others believe that Nagini accidently also killed her master. I myself believe he went into hiding until the time comes that those children actually make themselves known.
But that isn’t why I’m here. I’m here to introduce you to the wix world. As I said, I’m a teacher at Hogwarts, school for witchcraft and mastery. We teach young wix like yourself, how to control their magic and basics for travelling.
In your first year, you will be learning how to catch and take care of different Pokemon and the beginning of your magical training will start with learning how to slowly transfigure matches into needles, how to create light and how to make a potion to cure boils, as an example.
In your second year, we will be advancing on the magical side, with for example how to summon an item, while on the pokemon side you will be learning how to craft certain items you may need, like a pokeball. Your third year will start with the introduction of the chosen subjects Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, Care of Magical Creatures and Healing. Beside those subjects, you will learn more magic and will start battling with your pokemon.
Fourth year will be mostly used as an inventing year. You will have the opportunity to learn how to create a special pokeball that only you can use and even start to experiment with magic. The final year is your fifth year. If you have passed all your exams, this year will be easy for you, but if you haven’t you will need all the time to study. After that year, you will be done with school and can start your adventure with a lot of experience already. We make sure that all our students will have at least four pokemon at that time.” the professor explained.
“Before you can go to Hogwarts, you would need to visit Diagon Alley in the Hoenn region. There you would be able to buy your school supplies. If you are done with Kukui, we could all go now?” Burnet said.
“I actually can’t, I need to pick up Ash Ketchum from the airport. He and his mother are bringing a pokemon egg for Samson Oak to study.” Kukui said.
“Mister Ketchum will be here? I have been looking for him since he turned ten, he keeps moving and evading us.” McGonagall said, surprised.
“Yeah, he will be here. You mean to tell me he is also a wizard?”
“Yes, but what we learned from his mother is that a day after he got the letter from professor Oak, he went and got his first pokemon and immediately left to go on his journey.”
“Okay, why don’t we three go and buy supplies for both of the children, and when we come back we can introduce Ash to the wix world and see if we can convince him to stay here until school begins in two weeks?” Burnet suggested.
“Yes, maybe that will be a smart idea. I hope you still remember where Diagon Alley is located, miss Burnet?”
“Of course, I know, professor. It’s hidden in New Mauville City, not that Wattson knows it.”
“Purfect, now how would you like to travel, mister Potter. You could use a pokemon, or we could apparate you instantly.”
“What do you mean by apparate, and if I chose the pokemon, which one would we use?”
“Apparating is kinda like the pokemon move Teleport, only that you are doing it instead of a pokemon. And I believe my beautiful wife would prefer to use an Abra with teleport instead of the Charizard I would use.” Kukui answered.
“Then I would prefer the Abra.” Harry said quickly.
“Okay, very good. Then we will see you later, mister Kukui, please keep mister Ketchum here as long as possible.”
“Will do, professor, have fun shopping.”
