Chapter 3
It was quite a shock for Harry to suddenly be grabbed by an Abra and teleported into a busy shopping centre. People didn’t even look surprised. All around him he saw different shops with a lot of weird stuff, like there was one shop that really sold things like Poliwhirl legs. Beside those weird shops, there were also shops that sold the normal things. Professor McGonagall took them first to a tall and big white building. On the doors of the building was a poem that sounded evil, but a powerful promise.
Enter stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed,
For those who take but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their turn,
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours
Thief, you have been warned,
Be aware of finding more than treasure there.
The poem was endorsed with the chest pokemon, Gimmighoul. Like that was the punishment when you stole from them. It gave shudders all over Harry’s body. Inside were a lot of green, tiny beings that the professor identified as goblins. She told him in warning, that while they managed the bank, they were primarily a warrior race, so not to cross them. She walked up to one of them.
“Good morning, mister. I would like to accompany mister Potter to his vault.” She said respectfully.
“And does mister Potter have his vault key?” the goblin sneered. Professor McGonagall looked questionably at Harry, who quickly shook his head, afraid to anger the goblin.
“I’m sorry to say that he does not have it. Could we identify him with some blood and maybe get a new key?” she asked politely, even if you could see a bit of sweat coming from her forehead.
“That is possible, but who will pay for it if he is not mister Potter.”
“I will.” Burnet interrupted.
“Alright, let me get Griphook for you.” The goblin pushed on a hidden button and waved us to stand at the side. We didn’t have to wait long before a different goblin waved us inside in a hall that led to an office. Once there the goblin asked Harry to make a small cut on his left ring finger and let four drops of blood land on a parchment. A few seconds later there was writing on the parchment.

To say that Harry was in shock, is an understatement. He couldn’t believe his eyes. He had so many titles, and what were those abilities? He looked questioningly at the two professors.
“Harry, calm down.” Burnet said. He didn’t even notice that he started hyperventilating. “Those titles will come in effect when you reach seventeen, not a minute before that. The abilities are always active, you just need to understand them. Parseltongue and Parselmagic are abilities that work best with snake-like pokemon, like ekans, arbok and seviper. Poke Empathy lets you connect to a pokemon quicker than most, nothing more.”
“Okay.” Harry said, still uncertain.
“Don’t worry about it for now, mister Potter. At Hogwarts, we will go over it in your second year.” Professor McGonagall said. “Could we go to his vault now?” she asked the goblin.
“Of course. Heir Potter, if you will follow me.” Griphook said.
He took them to a cart which only stopped at vault 687. Inside was a lot of golden coins, like mountains of it. When asked what each coin was, he learned that the golden ones were known as Galleons, the silver ones Sickles and the bronze ones Knuts. They were only to be used in the Wizarding Side of the world and not the other side as the pokemon known as Gimmighoul would try to steal it from anyone that possessed it. Harry grabbed quite a lot, before being ushered back into the cart, but instead of going back up they went further inside.
“Welcome to the Potter Vault.” Griphook said with a smirk.
Once inside, instead of coins they saw portraits, pokeballs, and even books about magic and pokemon. The portraits were sleeping, so Harry left them alone. Well he was planning on leaving them alone, but one person awoke while he walked up to the pokeballs.
“Well, hello.” the man in the portrait said.
Harry turned around slowly to face the person. He looked a bit like what he remembered of his dad. But that couldn’t be his dad, right?
“Hi.” Harry said shyly.
“Well, don’t just stand there. Come closer.” the man said. Harry slowly approached him. “You finally came, didn’t you, Harry.”
“How do you know my name?” Harry asked.
“Well, I gave it to you, of course. Don’t you recognize me anymore?” The now identified James looked sad.
“I’m sorry to say I don’t. Aunt Petunia doesn’t have any pictures of you.” Harry said remorseful.
“Petunia?! Lily flower wake up this instant!” James shouted at the person next to him in the portrait.
“Uh. James, what is wrong? Oh hello Deerling.” Lily smiled at her son.
“They put him with your sister, Lily.” James said bluntly.
“Wait, they did what?! Please tell me that somehow you got away from her.” Lily asked her son.
“Yeah, I was taken in last week by professors Burnet and Kukui. Professor Kukui took me in when he noticed that I wasn’t happy there and that I was forbidden to start a pokemon journey from them.”
“Okay, that is better. Please ask one of the goblins if they would open our wills while you are with the professors. We made arrangements if you were sent to someone other than Sirius and Remus. In our wills it is also written that you should not have been sent to Petunia in the first place and what will happen if they do send you there.” Lily said. “Also take a few books from this vault. This is the Potter Main Vault so everything is yours and you can take anything from here. Some of the books will give you a deeper understanding about the Wizarding World and even give tips on how to control your magic in combination with the pokemon you have.”
Harry quickly gathered the books his mother told him to grab. Some of the titles were weird in his eyes like Starter Healing Magic, Wizarding Legends and How to overcome abuse with Pokemon. When returning to the professors, Burnet shrinked them and put them in her bag. Soon they were back outside where McGonagall gave him his list.
First year supply list:
Uniform
Three sets of plain work robes (black)
One pointed hat (black) for day wear
One pair of protective gloves (Dragonite skin or similar)
One winter cloak
All clothing items need to carry name tags
Books
The standard book of spells (grade 1) by Miranda Gashak
A history of Magic and Pokemon by Bathilda Bagshot
Magical and Pokemon theory by Albert Waffling
A beginner Guide to Transfiguration by Emoric Switch
One thousand Herbs and Fungi by Phylida Spore
Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger
Fantastic Pokemon and where to Find them by Newt Scamander
The Dark Forces: A guide to Self Protection by Quintin Trimble
Other Equipment
1 Wand
1 Cauldron (Pewter, standard size 2)
1 Set of glass or crystal phials
1 telescope
1 set of brass scales
1 pokemon either starter of similar
Harry looked confused. These books were somewhat different than you would normally find, but the equipment was stranger even. Before he could ask where he could find them, the two professors already walked away, discussing where to go first. They came to the conclusion that since a suitcase and the robes would take the longest time to get ready, that would be their first stop.
They started in the trunk shop. Normally a new student would take only a standard one, but professor Burnet told him to take one that was a bit more pricey as he had expensive books from his mother. So they took one that had blood protection on it and multiple compartments, one was a library, one a nature reserve, and one a normal clothing compartment.
Next on the list was the robes. Madam Malkin was in shock to see Harry but stays professional in her work. She provided him with a few more clothes, on request of Burnet. As soon as they were done, they returned to the trunk shop to get his trunk. The next stop was the apothecary, where they bought ingredients and the items needed. Harry was dragged away from a platinum cauldron because it was not on his list and if he wanted it next year, they would buy it then. They also bought a few standard pokeballs, getting the advice that if he suddenly finds a pokemon like a shiny he would need to catch it, and trying it without pokeballs is never fun. He was cautioned that when he did catch a second pokemon before Hogwarts starts, he would not be allowed to bring it until next year.
Finally they went to Ollivander’s wand shop. Once inside the atmosphere of the shop momentarily paralyzed Harry. Right beside the door was a shiny Noctowl waiting for his master. Ollivander himself was not seen. In the back you could hear the sound of someone running.
“Welcome, mister Potter. I was waiting for you to arrive here.” Ollivander said. “And hello to you to miss Burnet. If I’m correct, your wand was the wood of a Coconut tree, the core of a Minior shell, 14 and a half inches long and quite sturdy. Perfect for research of the unknown.”
“Like always, that is correct, but we are here for my warden, Harry Potter. Please find a wand for him.” Burnet said politely.
“Of course I will. Well mister Potter, let’s see which wand will help you the best.” Ollivander grabbed a few wands that were all taken away as soon as Harry grabbed them. After around the fiftieth he finally had a want that was perfect for him. “Holly wood with the core of shiny Zoroa tail hair. 12 and a quarter inches and quite flexible.”
Soon they returned to the home of Burnet and Kukui, once again by teleport provided by Abra. Kukui had already returned from getting Ash. Harry introduced himself before McGonagall took him to tell him that they had been trying to find him for months but he kept travelling.
