Meet
On the morning of the first, Sapphire woke at 5 am in excitement and couldn’t fall back to sleep again. At 6 am she decided to whisper to Ginny “Psst, Ginny, are you awake?” “Yeah, for about half an hour now” she whispered back. “I’ve been awake for an hour, I’m too excited!!!” “Me too!” Both of the girls laugh. “Ok, we had better be quiet before someone hears us” Ginny whispered. “Nah, I’ve heard Fred and George messing about for an hour” “Oh, alright. I’ve been meaning to ask you something” “Yeah? “Did you make anything, like, happen? Before you found out it was magic. “Uh, yeah I did, I could move things with my eyes, some other random things, oh, and I can talk to snakes? I don’t get that one” “Oh! If you would have said that I would have told you that you were a witch right then and there! Well, talking to snakes is really cool, weird, but cool” An hour later the girls decide that it’s a good time to go downstairs to get themselves breakfast. Ginny pours herself some cereal and Sapphire starts buttering some toast. “How late did you fall asleep?” Ginny asked. “About 2am I think?” Sapphire laughed. “I fell asleep about 1am” Ron, Fred and George suddenly appear in the doorway. “Oh, morning!” Sapphire smiles. “Morning!” the boys reply. Percy comes down about twenty minutes later just to yell at them for being too loud, but everyone is too excited to care. Sapphire suddenly remembered something “I haven’t told Dad about the letter from McGonagall!” she cried aloud. “It’s fine, just give him the letter, he won’t question it. He never questions anything” Ron said. This calms Sapphire down significantly. “Hello kids!” the sibling’s father walks in to the kitchen. Fred gives Sapphire a look that says “Tell him!” Sapphire made up her mind “Dad? I have to tell you something. When I got my Hogwarts letter, there was a second letter inside it. From Professor McGonagall. Just read the letter” for what feels like the millionth time she hands over the letter, which she had in her pocket. Her father read it five times over and said “Oh, that explains the resemblance, name matching and you being a witch. Does your mother know?” Ron gives her a look that says “I told you so” She rolled her eyes a Ron. “Yeah, I told her a while ago. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner, I completely forgot to” “Don’t worry about it” he says, walking toward the cupboard to get some food. “Wow he was chill about that!” she whispered to her siblings. “I knew it!” Ron whisper back, smugly. “Yeah, yeah, you were right” Sapphire laughed at him. Once all the children finally finished packing, they started counting down the minutes until they could leave for Hogwarts. Percy barged into Ginny and Sapphire’s room and says “Seriously? How have you just finished packing? I was completely packed a week ago!” “GET OUT PERCE” Ginny shouted at him. “Ok then” Sapphire laughed “Where did that come from?” “I’ve literally always wanted to do that” “Ok, best I be careful around you” “You should be” The girls erupted in laughter. “Girls it’s time to go” their mother called from downstairs. “Coming Mum!” Sapphire called. “This is actually happening!” Ginny said, as they were running down the stairs. “It doesn’t feel real!” Sapphire replied. The family got into the car and Sapphire started imagining what Hogwarts would be like. She had been told by her brothers that it was a beautiful castle, with huge, grassy fields and hills. She was just imagining what all her classes would be like when she hears her father say “Alright kids, you know the drill, Platform 93/4 as usual” Sapphire recognised the building as Kings Cross Station, but she had never heard of platform 93/4. She had already asked a lot of questions about Hogwarts, and she didn’t want to come across as annoying, so she decided to stay quiet and just follow her siblings. Their parents lead them to the bit of wall in between Platforms 9 and 10. Ginny and Sapphire start talking about what classes they are most excited for and suddenly Sapphire notices a young boy, who she soon recognised as Harry, looking completely lost, clearly confused about Platform 93/4 as well. “Harry! Over here!” she calls over to him. He looks around for a second, and the he sees Sapphire and starts walking over to her. “Hi!” she says when he reaches them. “Hey” Harry says back. “Do you know where Platform 93/4 is?” Harry asked. “I was hoping you did” Sapphire replied. “You were raised in the Wizarding World, I wasn’t” “I wasn’t either, I spent seven years in an orphanage, I only got adopted a month or two ago” “Can we interrupt?” Fred says, working his way into the conversation. “Depends, what are you going to say?” Sapphire joked. “We’ll tell you about Platform 93/4” George laughed. Before they got a chance a chance to say anything Ron walks over and asks “Who’s this Sapphire? Your boyfriend?” “One, no, he’s not my boyfriend, and two, he’s my brother” Ron looked clueless at this. “Remember, Ollivander mentioned him?” “Right, I remember now” He turns to Harry. “Harry, isn’t it? I’m Ron, Ron Weasley, one of Sapphire’s many brothers” putting his hand out for Harry to shake.“Harry, Harry Potter, another one of her many brothers” he replied, shaking Ron’s hand. Sapphire is oddly embarrassed by this. “Right, introductions done, well for now, Fred, George, you were going to explain Platform 93/4 to us Sapphire said “You run at the wall between platforms 9 and 10 and you turn up on Platform 93/4” George says. “Why do I think you’re pranking us?” Sapphire asked, hesitant to believe him, as he always pranks people. “Alright kids, who’s first?” Mrs Weasley called over. “Ah Sapphire who might this be?” she said when she saw Harry, giving her the same look everyone else did, the “Is he your boyfriend?” look. This time Sapphire is prepared “Remember the letter from McGonagall, how she mentioned a brother, well here he is!” She didn’t notice Percy and her father also paying attention to the conversation. Once all the introductions are finished Mrs Weasley says “Ok children were going to be late! Who’s going first?” “Sapphire will” Fred said. “I hate you!” Sapphire mouthed at him jokingly. “How about you go first Fred, you should show your younger siblings what to do” Mrs Weasley said, pointing at the twin who had just spoken. “He’s not Fred I am!” the other twin cried “Honestly woman you call yourself our mother” George scolded. “Oh sorry George” Mrs Weasley said, flustered. As George ran forward he said “Just kidding, I am Fred” Sapphire noticed that they had a habit of doing twin switch pranks. “Of course you are” Mrs Weasley sighed. Fred ran forward, and Sapphire flinched when he was about to hit the wall, but he didn’t. He went right through the wall and disappeared. Sapphire was shocked. “I guess he wasn’t kidding” she whispered to Harry. “I thought he was too” he whispered back. After Fred, George and Percy went and then it was Sapphire’s turn. Even though she saw her brothers do it, she was a bit nervous to do it herself. She realised she needed to learn how to hide her facial expressions more when her sister came up to her and said “I can go before you if you want? Or we could go together?” Sapphire smiled and said “That sounds great” Ginny smiles at her and both of them held hands and said “1…2…3 GO!” They ran forward and next thing they know they’re on Platform 93/4. Sapphire looked around and is shocked. It’s packed with young witches and wizards, some wearing robes, others wearing Muggle (non-magic folk) clothes. The girl’s mother, father, Ron and Harry appear on Platform 93/4. Harry clearly had the same thoughts as Sapphire when he saw Platform 93/4 as his eyes widened and jaw dropped. Sapphire walked over to Harry and said “This is pure madness. One minute I thought magic wasn’t real, next minute I’m here, going to a school to learn magic” “I know, it’s crazy!” “Children come over here” Mrs Weasley called to her children and, of course, Harry. Sapphire noticed that her mother is quick to accept new children into the family, she was glad about this, as she was was slightly worried that her family wouldn’t accept Harry. She needn’t have been worried, as Harry, Ron, Fred and George have been talking for the last 10 minutes and it looks like they’re becoming good friends. “Alright, the train leaves in 5 minutes so you I just want to say, I cannot believe I’ve got no more children at home anymore! You’re all so grown up, I’ll miss you all, I love you” Mrs Weasley said, starting to cry a little. Her husband comforted her, this clearly happened every year, as no one beside Sapphire and Harry was surprised. “All children for the Hogwarts Express board now!” they hear a voice say. “Oh go on, enjoy yourself!” Mrs and Mr Weasley ushered them toward the train, that Sapphire had been too distracted to notice. She wondered how she could have missed it, as it was HUGE. It was a large, red steam train, already with many children inside. As she stepped inside it, she was suddenly really nervous about going to Hogwarts. Once she knows all her siblings are on the train, her and Ginny start searching for a compartment. After about 5 minutes of searching, they find an almost empty one. There’s one girl who looks to be about the same age as them sitting in there. “Can we sit here? Everywhere else is full” Sapphire asked her. “Yeah, not a problem” the girl said. Sapphire and Ginny slid into in the compartment. “Hello, I’m Luna Lovegood” the girl said in a dreamy voice. She had long, thick, wavy, dirty blonde hair, bright blue eyes and is wearing large radish earrings. “Hi, I’m Sapphire, Sapphire Potter, nice to meet you” After Sapphire introduced herself, Ginny did the same and Luna said “You’re famous, aren’t you? I don’t remember why… Probably the nargles” to Sapphire. She nodded and wondered what nargles are. Sapphire said “Please don’t make a big deal about it, I’m really just a girl” Sapphire expected Luna to look confused, or say something but she doesn’t. Sapphire immediately knows that they’ll be friends. The girls hear the door slam open and a voice say “There you are! Why didn’t you wait for us?” The girls look at the door and see Harry and Ron standing there. “Oh, we’re sorry! Are we interrupting something?” Harry asked, flustered. “No, you’re alright, I’m Luna Lovegood, you can sit down here if you’d like” The boys sat down, introduced themselves and then Luna started reading a magazine called “The Quibbler” Sapphire noticed that she was reading it upside down. Suddenly the door to their compartment opens and a boy is standing there. “H-have you s-s-seen a toad. I-I’ve lost mine” the boy stuttered shyly. “Oh we haven’t, sorry” Ginny told him. “We’ll keep an eye out though” Sapphire added. “Ok, I’m going to keep searching, I’m Neville by the way, Neville Longbottom” Neville leaves the compartment and not long afterward, the sweet trolley came by. “Anything off the trolley dears?” the trolley witch asked. Sapphire’s mother gave her some money to buy stuff, but before she could say anything, Harry said “We’ll take the lot!” and slammed a pile of gold coins onto the table in the middle of their compartment. Sapphire was shocked. “How much money is that?” Sapphire whispered to Ginny. “That looks like 200 galleons!” she whispered back. The trolley witch looked surprised but agreed. Once she left, Sapphire asked “Where did you get that much wizarding money? I thought you were raised by Muggles!” “Oh I completely forgot about this” Harry said, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a drawstring bag and handing it to Sapphire. “We have a shared account at Gringotts, I was told to give you that bag, it has some of our gold in it. There’s about 250 galleons in there. Our parents left it to us before they died, it’s filled with gold!” “Oh my god!!! I don’t know what to say” Sapphire opened a box labelled “Chocolate Frog” when she opened it. A few minutes later, the trolley witch came by and said “Time to get changed into your Hogwarts robes, we’re almost there” Once Sapphire, Ginny, Harry, Ron and Luna are all in their Hogwarts robes, Sapphire starts imagining what Hogwarts will be like, she’s heard about the huge Quidditch field, and all the mountains surrounding the grounds. Before she knows it, the train comes to a halt and she hears a voice say “ALRIGH, OFF THE TRAIN WE’VE ARRIVED AT HOGWARTS!!! FIRST YEARS THIS WAY, FIRST YEARS!!!”
