Wands
“SAPPHIRE POTTER” yelled a random person on the street “Oh god” Sapphire thought “I brought a gift for you and your family! As a thank you” “Thanks…?” Sapphire replied as a white snowy owl is shoved in her direction, and then one in Fred, George, Ginny, Percy and Ron’s direction. When the man walked away, Ginny said “What was that all about?” “Yeah what the heck?” Ron cried “And I just realised we never told Ron and Percy” Sapphire said, laughing. “Yes, Sapphire, I have been wondering what happened in the Leaky Cauldron” Percy said, giving her a strange look. Sapphire was sick of explaining it so she just handed him the letter and said “When you’re done reading it, give it to Ron so he can too” Just like everyone else, him and Ron read it fives over, and looked at her. Unlike everyone else, Percy said “I have noticed the resemblance, you know, when the event first happened, I did lots of research on you. Did you know-” “SHUT UP PERCY” everyone else shouted in unison and then laughed. “Wasn’t he about seven when it happened?” Sapphire thought. “Ok then, I would like you to remember that I got the highest score on my exams last year” “Oh Percy, I don’t think you told Sapphire that yet” said George “I think he told her” said Fred “Once” said Ron “or twice” added Ginny, knowing what they’re doing “a minute all summer in the two months I’ve known you” Sapphire finished, laughing. Everyone erupted in laughter at this. Everyone but Percy “Haha very funny” he said sarcastically, rolling his eyes at his younger siblings. “Right, Mum will kill us if we’re not done shopping when she gets back and we still need to stop by the apothecary, Madam Malkins and Ollivanders, we have got to get a move on,” Fred said. “Percy, you go to the apothecary and get things for everyone, and we’ll take Ron, Ginny and Sapphire to Madam Malkins and Ollivanders” The siblings went there separate ways and Sapphire said “We need wands and robes so I’m assuming that Madam Malkins and Ollivanders are for those” “You assumed
correct” Ron replied. The family walked into Ollivanders to find nobody there. “What? I don’t see anyone” Ron said, looking around. “Ah, Miss Sapphire Potter, I saw your brother already today, I’ve been wondering when I’d be seeing you” “A BROTHER? Like another Potter? I’m so confused!” Ron cried, completely ruining the moment. “Oh you met Harry” Sapphire said, confused on how he remembers, when he probably sees so many kids every day. “Right Miss. Potter, you try this wand” She grabbed the wand, swished it around and an ink pot exploded. She quickly but carefully put the wand back on the table. “Ok, that’s not the one, let’s try this one, as they say, the wand chooses the wizard Miss Potter” Ollivander said, handing her another wand to try. This time when she gave it a wave, a window smashed into hundreds of pieces. “Oh dear, I’m sorry” she cried, embarrassed. “Don’t worry about that, your brothers here, Fred and George Weasley, Fred broke the door down and George smashed my table when they were buying their first wands” Ollivander said. Fred and George, nodded, laughing. With a wave of his wand the window fixes itself. Sapphire was relieved. “Curious, very curious, oh I wonder” Ollivander muttered, choosing another wand for her to try “I’m sorry, but what’s curious?” Sapphire asked. “Just try this wand, if you are destined for it, I will explain” When Sapphire tried this wand, the room lit up and nothing went wrong. “Very curious indeed, it is curious that you are destined for this wand, as the phoenix that gave the feather for your wand core only gave three feathers, one belongs to your brother, Harry Potter, one belongs to you and the last one, gave you that scar and belonged to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named” Sapphires eyes widened “You mean, that my wand has two brothers, one of which tried to kill me, one belongs to another he tried to kill and the last belongs to me?” “Sorry, what?” “That can’t be right!” “That’s insane!” all of her siblings exclaimed. “I understand that it is strange but if this wand chose you, it chose you for a reason” Ollivander added “You know what guys? I’m going to go for it , I mean, he is a professional and he knows best, how much is it?” “Eight galleons” She handed over the money (That Fred and George told her was eight galleons, as she had no clue) and went to sit down next to her siblings while Ron and Ginny went to test wands for themselves. When they left the shop Sapphire asked Fred and George “Did you really break the door down and break Ollivander’s table?!” “They did! We were there, it was hilarious!” Ginny laughed. “We still tease them about it and it was three years ago at this point!,” Ron added. “And you need to explain what happened back there, what’s all this about a brother?” “Ok, back in the letter it mentioned a brother, remember? Yeah, I met him back in flourish and blotts, his name is Harry and he’s my twin” “You have a twin?!” “Yeah, I do” “CHILDREN! I just remembered that I have a box of old robes back at the house, so there’s no need to buy them, because I see you haven’t yet” their mother called down the street “Oh, good you caught us just now, we were just on our way” Ginny said. “Where’d you get those owls?” their mother asked, scanning the snowy owls that all of her children were holding. “This weirdo on the street gave them to us, as a thank you for killing Voldemort? I don’t know” Sapphire laughed. “Confusing but ok” their mother said.
